I am so DONE With This Lousy Extension! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I've tried NUMEROUS times to love this extension but it never fails to screw things up miserably. Bookmarks disappearing my biggest complaint; they just vanish for whatever reason. They're gone today from the Server and of course they're gone from my computer. Fortunately I *knew* this would happen and, sure enough, it did. Fortunately I've been down this road so many times before I've got all my bookmarks saved to my hard drive. I am so DONE with this crap extension and I mean for good this time. If I could rate it less than one-star I would.

Pop up after every restart is very annoying! Should be fixed immidiately. It should work in back ground.

Has been working fine for me.
I especially like the feature where you can manually overwrite either the local data or the server data.

Has suked for over 2 years Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Used to be a great app ---- now 10 years of book marks are useless because it refuses for synch for over 2 years over a handful of different platforms....

Many years without problems, but now when I move'd on new system (win 8.1 64bit) I have a big issue - I can't sync and even log-in via web page to my profile. On others PC's (with Bitdefender installed also) everything is OK.
I've reinstall the addon many times and nothing special happens. There appears window with information about problem with connection to server...
Please find solution of this problem because I can't imagine FF without xmarks...

EDIT.
Five stars back - I found the solution. Xmarks works grat again.

Great Utility! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you work from several different browsers on several different computers and you want access to your Bookmarks/Favorites everywhere, then this add-on is absolutely essential. Your Bookmarks/Favorites data is backed up to a free, Internet cloud account, which is also accessible through a web page log-in interface. XMarks also allows you to add reviews and user ratings to websites which can show to other XMarks users on web search page results.

I've used XMarks for over 5 years now (it used to be called FoxMarks), and I've used it across every major browser version that has come out in that time. I have thousands of Bookmarks/Favorites, yet I've only ever had a few minor sync issues (like getting a duplicate empty bookmark toolbar folder once in awhile). I've read some of the user reviews here and I have none of their bad experiences.

Be sure to backup your Firefox Profile and your IE Favorites folder, before your first sync. If you are starting off with two browsers with very different lists of Bookmarks/Favorites, then of course you will likely have some sync issues and maybe it will take a long time. This is more the nature of synchronization in general, rather than the software performing it. But once you are synced across all your browsers, keeping them in sync is actually something you will hardly ever notice.
Also do not forget to log into the web site and set options for your syncs.

I thought my problems to sync between Chrome and Firefox were solved but it got worse.
First of all the disabled auto-sync option is enabled by itself after every restart of the browser.
Then most of the time Xmark is just duplicating and dislocating my bookmarks. It seems it can't handle bookmark folders.
useless !!

Works fine but freezes Firefox for a few minutes if you have thousands of bookmarks Rated 3 out of 5 stars

14 November 2014
I use xmarks since delicious stopped their support for Firefox addons, that is several years now. Delicious was better, but the xmarks sync works fine. I don't think I have lost bookmarks like other reviews mention.

It does freeze FF when syncing though and because of that I have disabled automatic syncing and only let it sync when I close FF. In my case that takes about 2 minutes. I contacted support (I am a premium member), they are very responsive. We ran some test and they concluded that it is slow because I have over 6000 bookmarks and it has to scan all of them to find and compare changes with the bookmarks on the server. I don't think it should have to scan all the bookmarks because FF keeps track of the date/time a bookmark has changed.

Anyway, they say they will see if they can make the process faster. Unfortunately they can't give a time indication. If there are others with freezing problems then I suggest you contact support. The more people complain about it the more chance there is this will be solved soon.

* For now I give 3 out of 5 stars rating.
* I give 4 out of 5 when the freezing issue is fixed.
* I give all 5 stars when the Android and Windows Phone App are faster and have an option to add, edit and delete bookmarks.

Quality and easy to use bookmark management and synching across both different browsers as well as computers or devices. This and Lastpass are indispensable.

Missing Bookmarks Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I use Xmarks from the official site and not the browser addon. The browser addon has a glitch, makes the bookmark toolbar disappear and a chunk of bookmarks missing. You need to restore your bookmark from your backups.

The only fix is to remove the addon and use the stand alone from the site.

использую Xmarks ~ 5лет = всё отлично синхронизируется.
сперва были проблемы (от не умения грамотно пользоваться ,
а разработчики могли бы сделать сервис c multi language support)
было бы вообще здорово ,если бы было , как в Firefox Sync
синхронизировать так же и профиль браузера (настройки/плагины/дополнения)
