Even better than I thought... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Accidentally closed a window with 60+ tabs/groups.

Installed Session Manager. Recovered window.

Absolute life saver - required install on every Firefox I have.

Problem with multiple windows Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great extension, but with one major flaw - keeps messing window order every time the session is loaded. The first window often stays first, but all the rest always opens in random order.

Peace of mind, finally Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I never knew when Firefox would suddenly lose my last session tabs. Causes? Crashes, putting your computer in sleep mode many times in a row, or seemingly simple bad luck could lose the last session's tabs. Those losses did not happen very often, but even a once-in-a-while disaster was too much when 100-or-so tabs need to remain available. Session Manager saves a session in a file and a folder of your choosing. Since that file can be used on another computer, the same set of Firefox tabs can be used there as well. Each tab's backward and forward history is also saved! I need to donate. Now I'll be looking for a similar add-on that saves bookmarks and the deep structure of Firefox's bookmarks toolbar.

Very Reliable Rated 5 out of 5 stars

In my opinion, Session Manager is a must-have add-on for anyone whose browsing style involves queuing up a large number of tabs on a regular basis.

I've used this add-on for a little over four years now. l got it initially when I was experiencing a lot of crashes. I'd always set Firefox to restore previous tabs and windows, but it turned out Firefox's native crash recovery typically doesn't restore pre-crash tabs. I'm sure that's fine for some users, but it was totally unacceptable for my purposes.

Session Manager solved that problem and has worked without issue ever since, even when saving sessions with around a hundred tabs open. I rarely use it for anything other than crash recovery, but I do appreciate the way one can group saved sessions by category and set them to autosave as well.

I can't imagine using FF without it anymore. Thanks, dev.

(using FF 47.0.1, extension version 0.8.1.12)

one reason to stay with FF.

This user has a previous review of this add-on.

please fix the "New Tab" problem Rated 4 out of 5 stars

"It's restoring almost all of my tabs with "New Tab" instead of the actual page, so it's mostly become useless to me."

My problem as well, and now I seem to be getting extra new tabs. For awhile I have to disable this and go back to either TabMixPlus or Firefox session handling.

btw, I don't mind when the tabs are not open (you have to hit the tab to reactivate it) as it probably is saving memory at the time and I can open them as needed.

I plan on trying again in a week or two, as this extension has been a keeper over the years.

Still works how it should Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Did Firefox crash again and it can't restore the last session? This add on can!
You have to close Firefox but keep/ save all your tabs for later? With this add on it's possible.
The only thing that I recommed is that to set the default sorting order of the sessions to "by date (ASC)" instead of "alphabetic". You can set that via setting > general > display

Used to be great! Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Like the last review, it used to work a treat.
Now, it just opens pages with the address in the bar but doesn't open the page! I have to open each tab so the page will load.

With 30 or 40 tabes that take a while!

I'll give it a week to update and then it's removed and I'll find something that works.

Shame, it was a great addon. . .

Used to work pretty well, now it barely works at all Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It's restoring almost all of my tabs with "New Tab" instead of the actual page, so it's mostly become useless to me.

Pretty good but.. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Usability needs improving a lot.

Rename should use a drop down / text box combined to enable you to select existing group (otherwise you end up with Shopping, shops, buying, and purchases in the list.
Delete closes the tools menu but what if you want to delete more than one? You have to load the folder up.
Not really a way to grab multiple sessions and regroup / delete them.
Append to current session could be simplified to "Open in new window".

Should be built in to Firefox as it's extremely useful as is. Reduces the amount of bookmarks you need and allows you to create tasks to do the things you need to in multiple tabs.

unusable since (?) 45.2.0 (ESR release) *UPDATE:works on 38.8 ESR Rated 3 out of 5 stars

*UPDATE:*
All good after reverting to 38.8 (no newer version did work)

Session Manager does not see tabs in windows when trying to save session.

When loading session, only one of (my) two windows loads, second one is empty.

After crash, session (115tabs) has 2.5 thousands of about:blank tabs, which are visible only in the Session Manager itself.

Good, but doesn't do exactly what I want Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I just wanted to be able to assign some hotkeys for quick save/quick load. This can do that, but I only want ONE backup to be saved and I don't want to be prompted which backup to select. If I choose to discard session on browser close, my hotkeys don't work. Also, you have to be careful which hotkeys you assign, they can't be existing ones used by Firefox or they'll be overridden. There's not too many hotkeys, implementing a blacklist should only take maybe an hour or 2 in total.

FF41 problem Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately, does not work with FF 41

It LOST all previous sessions due to update Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Besides from this, it works perfect and i've been using it for years now. Also restores the unsaved session after a crash.
Any idea whether i can regain my lost sessions or not?

It LOST my previous session du to update! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Useful before update, it can NOT to able to restore previous session but it know all the URL's tabs and organization in windows.

Session Manager will not restore prior session Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I regret that Session Manager, no matter what you do, will not allow you to set "Show my windows and tabs from last time" in the window where you are supposed to be able to do just that. If you do try to select that option, Session Manager will just switch it back to "Show my home page" when you hit "Apply" or "Ok".

As a result, Session Manager will never restore your tabs from last time if you close out of Firefox and come back, such as after a reboot.

I also am finding that, even if you tell Session Manager to make automatic backups of a session state, at some point Session Manager will switch that option to "off," and stop making automatic backups of your session.

Session Manager does not appear to do anything useful.

Easy to use Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Essential tool, should be implemented in the browser alongside bookmarks. Easy to use and does what it says. Thanks.

Is Session Manager compatible with 46.0.1 at all? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've had a few crashes while running FF 46.0.1 and restoring the tabs with Session Manager hasn't come up. Then I noticed that the add-on link in Tools(Menu toolbar option) disappeared. All the more after checking to Show my
windows and Tabs from last time in "When FF starts" it didn't work too. I'll be happy if the issue will be solved.
