It freezes Firefox with this page: http://abnormalreturns.com/2014/07/21/to-bond-etf-or-not/ on both of my Mac and Windows. Could you help to check it out? Thanks!

Cannot reproduce problem ...

Tested editing and printing of this page (http://abnormalreturns.com/2014/07/21/to-bond-etf-or-not/) using Print Edit 15.4 and Firefox 36.0.1 on Windows 8.1 and cannot reproduce this freeze. The page can be edited and printed without any problems.

Could use some more work... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Some pages can be printed after editing the page while others cannot. (I.e. - https://www.drupal.org/node/832026 via Firefox 36.) Granted, it could be me just being unskilled with this add-on's usage? Perhaps...

But after I delete certain things on the page and find myself ready to send everything to the printer, the last thing I want to do is "Preview" everything. After all, I've basically been previewing via the editing I've done. There's no point in previewing. The add-on should have a single and simple button that says, "PRINT."

Beyond those irritations, the add-on is great. It works successfully in about 7 out of every 10 pages.

Some suggestions ...

To print the main article of the page you mentioned (https://www.drupal.org/node/832026), use the following steps:

- move the mouse to highlight the main article and click to select
- move the mouse to highlight the article title and click to select
- click the Delete Except button and choose Unrestricted from the drop-down menu
- click the Preview button and then click the Print button

Previewing is useful for most users, because it allows you to see exactly how the page will look when it is printed with the current print settings (page size, margins, headers/footers, etc).

If you don't want to use preview mode, you can just use Ctrl+P to print in edit mode.

Really impressive and usefull ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When PrintWhatYouLike reaches its limits, Print Edit still makes the job, and even better in most cases !! A real must-have. Well done, developer ! :-)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (14.3).

Everything works fine ...

Not sure if the portable version is any different from the standard version of Firefox 36.0.1. Have tested Print Edit 15.0 with eBay sites on both portable and standard versions of Firefox 36.0.1 and everything works fine.

Exactly whtat happened when Print Edit crashed?

Please provide a link to the specific web page that caused the crash.

Aditional button Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Recommendation: Place a command button to print directly in preview.
Excellent work.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (13.8).

There is a Print button in the preview window!

Did you mean the "editing" window rather than the "preview" window?

There is a Print button in the preview window and most users will want to preview after editing and before printing. Putting a Print button on the editing window toolbar would make it more difficult to see all the buttons in a small screen/window.

If you want to print directly from the editing window, you can do this using the Ctrl+P keyboard shortcut.

Maybe the most amazing add-on on AMO Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Print Edit is a wonder of imagination and execution. If you haven't tried it, it will exceed your expectations. It's hard to believe an add-on can do something this complex, and do it this easily and flawlessly -- and for free!

I wish I could use Print Edit in every other application I print from. Thank you!

print+edit+pdf = bagus! (nice) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

kaya akan fitur, termasuk print ke pdf, yang mana itu sebenarnya kelemahan browser ini tidak menyertakan secara built-in. tapi ya bagus lah ada yang berbaik hati mengembangkan add-on ini. Terima kasih.

rich of features, including print to pdf, which actually the minus of this browser which not include built-in print to pdf ability, but it's good there are kind people to develop such add-on. Thank you.

Must have add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of the first add-ons that gets installed on a new Firefox installation. Webpages and even emails print with so much extra junk. Use this to print exactly what you want, like that recipe you just found. Use it conjunction with your favorite PDF printer to save recipes, articles and the like.

Container selection Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I find myself using this extension almost every time I want to print a web page. However, one constant source of frustration is the fact that you have to constantly – and blindly – hunt for containers. For instance, if you want to remove a section, you typically have to either select and delete each individual paragraph, or to keep hovering the respective section looking for one single element that contains the whole thing.

I think it would be great if the extension offered the ability to select the last selected element's parent using keyboard shortcuts (e.g. arrow up), paired with the ability to undo that action (arrow down?). This is a really low hanging fruit, and it would certainly remove a long-standing source of frustration.

If my understanding is correct, I think (2) would be confusing for users, in the current GUI paradigm – and (3) would be impossible to implement. The way I understand the interface, the currently highlighted element is the element with a solid red border, whereas all currently selected elements have dashed red borders. I see solid red borders only while hovering over elements – those turn to dashed red borders as soon as I click on an element. If that's correct, I don't think one could change the currently highlighted element using the mouse to click on buttons, because that would change (or most likely void altogether) the currently highlighted element, before one even gets to the buttons.

The way I'd implement it would be like this: I'd change the border color for the last selected element (say, from red to bright green, which is rarely used); obviously, the last selected element must change from green to red when a new element is selected. Using this visual cue, it would then be easy for people to understand that the green guy can be navigated using arrow keys. Of course it would be nice to expose this feature using toolbar buttons as well. Also, you could use the left and right arrow keys to navigate across siblings; that would be less frequently useful, but it would be easy to implement, it provides completeness, and I'm sure it would come in handy occasionally.

Help with beta testing ...

There is now a beta version of Print Edit (13.9b1) which includes this feature.

It would be great if you could try out this beta version and provide some feedback.

If you would like to do this, please confirm by e-mail to: dw-dev@gmx.com
(so the beta version can be e-mailed back to you).

Weird editing behavior with latest update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

First off, I love this extension! It's near the top of my list of must-have extensions. With it I can get printouts that look the way I think they should, without extraneous fluff.

However, the latest update (13.8) running on the Firefox 35.0 (also on 34.0) exhibits a weird behavior in edit mode that makes editing very difficult to use. When moving the mouse pointer to a section of a page, the content within the red selection box disappears! It then reappears when I move the box elsewhere, only to have the new content disappear. In other words, content is hidden within the selection box, no matter where it's positioned.

Everything else seems to work like before, but this behavior is most annoying.

Addendum (a day later, sheepishly):

Apparently this behavior only happens on some sites, so perhaps it's a site issue, not an extension issue.

Turns out it was an interaction with another add-on: NoSquint. NoSquint is useful for changing dark background sites like hackaday.com to display with a light background, making it easier to read IMHO. If you turn-off this background switching, Print Edit works fine.

The developer was very responsive and helpful in tracking down this interaction. It's obvious he cares deeply about the quality and user experience of all his very useful add-ons.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (13.8).

More information please ...

Cannot reproduce this problem and there have been no other reports of similar problems. It seems likely that this behaviour is related to specific sites or pages.

Please could you provide a link to a page where this problem happens, so that it can be investigated further.

My version has become corrupted. How do I remove my current version?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (13.8).

Try resetting Firefox ...

Try resetting Firefox to its default (factory) state using ‘Help > Troubleshooting Information > Reset Firefox’.
This will create a new user profile with no add-ons installed and some of your custom settings may be missing.

Its broken. Can't save pages at all. It writes: "Mozilla Archive Format add-on is not compatible with Multi-Process Firefox"

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (13.7).

Fixed in Version 13.8

This problem is fixed in Print Edit 13.8.

It is again possible to save edit web pages to HTML in non-e10s windows.

Note, when using Multi-Process Firefox, this error message will still appear in e10s windows, since the Mozilla Archive Format add-on is not compatible with e10s windows and prevents Firefox's normal save method (Web Page, HTML only) from working.

Edit menu bar can not decipher the characters menu becomes completely black. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It is a very great add-on but becomes to when you select the part you want to edit it's Noia Fox is a Firefox theme that I use black edit menu bar
Character of the menu can not be legible.
So it takes a very time you are using it from once back to the standard of the theme when you use the function of this add-on.
The current full theme that is compatible with the latest version of Firefox I want you to release it from to verify its compatibility with each theme if possible because the number is small.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (13.6).

Print Edit works with Noia Fox theme ...

Cannot reproduce this problem. Print Edit seems to work fine with the Noia Fox 3.0.8 theme, when using Firefox 34.0.5, or when using multi-process Firefox Nightly 37.0a1. The preview and edit toolbars are not black.

Not sure why your toolbars are black. Are you using a different Noia Fox theme or a persona?

Which operating system are you using? Which verson of Firefox are you using?
