We have made this add-on because displaying nofollow, and follow links is very important to our own tasks, we regularly preform SEO auditors for small businesses to medium sized businesses and we need to find out which links could be potentially hurting their rankings.
A link that uses the rel=”nofollow” attribute prevents site owners being punished for bad linking. We wanted an add-on that would make our life’s that little bit easier when doing SEO tasks for our customers, but we also design websites so it was important that our add-on did not interfere to much with viewing webpages in general.
Using extensions such as firebug can be annoying having to enable and disable, so we opted to use a add-on that would be constant but only when we hovered over a link. So we came up with Nofollow, it is still pretty much in early stages but the add-on has been tested on many Firefox Versions.
We plan to support, update and continue development for this plugin as it’s important for our own business while contributing to Mozilla Firefox and their community who share other extensions that we use on a daily basis. We at ByBe believe that open source is the best source, and free information is the way forward in all web related platforms.
We have been a true support of Firefox since the very first public release and we will continue to support them as they are the best open source browser by a mile off.
