Very useful.

Great addon,it makes the problematic search in FF a lot easier and frankly it should become part of the browser.

I have one small problem with it though. It centers words only when they exist in offscreen parts of the page.If the same part of the page has multiple instances of the word, all those instances will be successively highlighted but not focused in the center of the screen until the search steps to the instance of the word which exists in the next off-screen part of the page.

Now that is not a big problem,it is actually preferable. It is easier to notice the highlighted words when they appear in the same part of the page, rather than having each one of them center-focused.It is easier for the eyes and better distinguishable.

But it is a problem when you have a very big monitor and the center-focused page happens to have two instances of the words, the first one in the middle of the screen as it is expected to be and the second in the last line of that part of the page.
When that happens,i find myself many times looking at the center-focused word but never noticing the highlighted word which is in the bottom of the screen. So when i press F3 for the next search, the addon naturally focuses in the next offscreen instance of the word, thus completely missing the 2nd word which was in the last line of the previous center-foucused part of the page.

If the author of the addon is still reading this,he is interest to fix it and has an idea of how to do it,i will be very grateful
If not, then it is fine, his addon still remains the best way for searching words in pages.

Too simple. Why isn't this default?

I have been searching for this for soooo long! Thanks 1k times!

I often have to scan large text and code blocks for specific phrases and Firefox's default scrolling of the search results to either the very top of bottom made that a pain :-(

With your addon it is much better, thank you!

One little thing though: could you add an option to keep the centering 100%? Currently, it is flexible by a few lines.

Makes life a little easier :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One possible issue: If the word you're searching for is listed more than once on the visible page, the subsequent words will not be centered when you click the find Next button. Only if the word is offscreen does it get centered. Not necessarily a bad thing or good thing but some people might prefer to have every word centered while others don't care. Maybe you can give an option for this?
Anyways, thanks for this little add-on White Alice0775. I love how many of your add-ons are for fixing tiny annoying problems of firefox. It makes our browsing experience so much better and easier. If Mozilla included most of your add-ons to Firefox it would be such a nicer browser to use! Thanks!

No, I do not have plan to add any option.
Please use other Extension such as XUL/Migemo(not working with Firefox yet).
Thanks.

Should be a default Rated 5 out of 5 stars

this is an excellent solution to a very annoying problem. I would like to suggest one improvement. Could you allow the users to control where the results are displayed. Options could be - center, 75% from top, 80% from top, 75% from bottom, etc

This extension well works in Firefox. I've grown used to having the search result be at the bottom of the page and needing to scroll up manually so I can see its context. It felt weird at first to see the result scrolled up to the middle of the page automatically, but I like it already. I'd like to see this be part of Firefox, so I just voted for Bug 440198 – If Firefox must scroll the page to display a search result, centre them vertically to the page.
