Organize SearchEngines V1.7 by Malte Kraus

Solid Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very good overall. This is what I wanted. I do have an improvement request though. Currently search engines I have set to not show (i.e. unchecked in Firefox Options) still show in the context menu. It would be nice to be able to control what search engines show in the context menu.

That's good.

Smaller list of search engines Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Can you make it like (also like in new Firefox implementation) to only show a selected list from all available search engines?

Just what I was looking for Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is fantastic! The new search box in Firefox 34.0.5 completely messed up my right-click searching; I managed to turn it off (using the browser.search.showOneOffButtons option in about:config), but as a silver lining I also found this add-on, which allows me to search without having to select the search engine in the drop-down beforehand. It sounds like a small thing but it makes searching a lot easier when you want to search in different places!

The only tiny thing I would change would be to make it so that left clicking on the search engine (or "search for '...' >" item, if you have clickMenuToSearch enabled) switches to the new tab, to be the same as the previous functionality, rather than having to use the middle button.

Reverts the new, terrible search bar to the old, good search bar! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank god that this extension seems to successfully get rid of the new, incredibly annoying and nonfunctional icons that appear under the search bar. Thanks.

Causing problems with Firefox Developer Tools "Inspect" Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Context Search is causing "Inspect" to always mark the <body> element instead of the inspected one, in Firefox 34.

Please fix this.

Simple et efficace Rated 4 out of 5 stars

After trying many, I opted for the simplest and most effective.
But another add-on makes it disappearing .. I have to find which one...

Very useful, thanks.
There's one glitch, though: middle click and Ctrl-click don't work.

нет возможности добавить свои поисковые системы, приходится редактировать вписанные по умолчанию. это косяк.

Really liked this Rated 3 out of 5 stars

But after using it for 6 months it's gettign really annoying having to re-add everything every update. More annoying, is that I ALREADY have these engines bookmarked and working when I type into Firefox's address bar.

For example I'll type "MAL" to search myanimelist, but this add-on uses the Mini-tooolbar which I guess uses a different set of engines because it ignores the 7 engines I have shortcuted to the Address bar. I hate that mini-search bar because it's a waste of space when the address bar does the exact same things, so I wish this add-on would read the Engines from the address bar as well since apparently every Firefox update deletes the mini-search bar custom data or something while my address bar shortcuts always work.

Basically, to specific what I mean is, when you add shortcuts to the ADDRESS BAR, it "Saves" them as "Bookmarks" so no matter what an update does, Firefox recognizes them. This add-on seems to save as a config somewhere that gets overwritten every time Firefox updates. Using the bookmark system would be much better.

This Add-on doesn't actually have any search engine configuration at all, it's just using the search engines that are available in Firefox's search box. If your engines are being removed with every update, I suggest you seek help from the Firefox Support site or forums at MozillaZine, that doesn't sound like something that should be happening.

Very good with one glitch when updating FF. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very nice extension but every time FF updates to new version all custom engines are gone and all is left is firefox default engines. Can this be solved?

This is exactly how Firefox should have worked without the need of addons.

Simple and to the Point Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I had tried several add-ons that attempted context menu searches (or through other fancy means) and all failed miserably.

Thankfully I stumbled upon this add-on. The idea is pretty simple but very powerful.

I use it with Menu Editor add-on and it stays on top of my context menu.

I would have created it if I knew how to code. Kudos to the developer. Simple and smooth execution.
