The combination between a browser and a simple HTTP server is intriguing because it seems to me more intuitive for the user. It's not suitable for heavy websites.

Extremely useful for dealing with simple sites and file hosting. Indeed works adequately.

I used it for a couple of months, and though I don't need it anymore, it surely gave me an additional value as I has to give access to my peers in accessing online content.

This is an old extension for hosting simple websites or files on a local server and accessing them from the WWW. However, it seems to do the job adequately.

I have a blog that I update every other day. Before I actually confirm the update, I put the files on this server and surf from the WWW to these files to see that everything is going OK.

After testing this add-on I can highlight the bright idea of hosting simple web pages on a personal computer and accessing them through the web.

Being able to host HTML files on a local computer is definitely an advantage for me and I can appreciate it.

Cool app. After you install it, you can put files in a folder on your computer and access them through the web. Nice idea for an app.

A fine tool for hosting simple website on a Firefox browser. This tool saves the need of hosting if you don't really wish to have audience for a website..

I use it in my office for sharing files between computers not attached o a LAN, and it works well for me.

As a lawyer I make use of this extension for sharing internal documents in my office between a few members. Works OK for me.

RUBBISH. Rather use ST2's Sublime Server package, or set up a proper (X)AMP(P) localhost. Other ideas: check out Pagekite and Webbo. You're welcome. Why I call this CRAPWARE (even started a collection for that just because of it):This prompts you EVERY TIME you start FF with a popup asking if it can show occasional ads. My story: despite clicking "remember this decision" and selecting no, it continued to do so, every time. One day I decided to click yes, out of curiosity. Thereafter a window would pop up - OUTSIDE the desktop visible area (*faceplant*) - with each new session. Said window was almost frameless - like a popup with toolbars disabled. It was non-resizable. The only way to even see the contents was to press F11 and make it fullscreen. It was loading up some silly blog with a poor WoT rating.

Update: AFTER writing the above I scrolled through the reviews, and found https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/browser-server/reviews/452386/ which says exactly what I warned about here. Don't be so foolish like sheep, people. Don't see all the 5 stars and think "OH COOL".

I always say: Never trust anything that gets a score of 10/10. Okay it's the first time I said that, but still holds true. Only exceptionally good things get 5 stars. On the flipside, I would give this a -4, but can't

I cannot delete the server Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Since I have installed the addon, a new folder called Mozilla firefox is in my network. I cannot delete the folder although I´ve already uninstalled the addon. Thats annoying!

I'm satisfied Rated 4 out of 5 stars

with this application. The issue is that you need to read the tutorial of it if you need to work under a router.

Useless rubbish Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The "tiny popup" with advertisements cannot be easily closed, and shows a dark blob, apparently coming from some malware-infected blog. Once I figured out it was this extension doing that, I uninstalled it.I wonder if all the 5-star reviews are actually posted by the author through fake-identities.The old POW was a great extension, this one sucks.

Very useful for me indeed. It can function as a reasonably good server for small to medium size files. Doesn't do beyond it says nor any less.
