This is probably my second best FF extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I constantly use the "Add to Wish List" button. I have multiple wish lists in Amazon, and one is in fact used as a gift buying guide for ,my family, but the other I use for storage of items that interested me, so that I can later do comparisons and so forth.

Great for keeping tab of items to be KIV and/or kept in the shopping list.

for impulse shopping Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I found this add-on useless. If you shop on Amazon or use Amazon Prime, this App adds little value. I would have preferred to use the Amazon Browser Toolbar, but it crashes my Firefox, probably due to some conflicting add-on, yet to be identified. Personally, I find it easier to go to the Amazon website and shop or use my wishlists. If you're a website impulse shopper, I can see where app might be also be helpful for comparative pricing.

Really very handy Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love using this add-on. It saves a LOT of bookmarking and creating wishlists on sites I visit. MUCH better having a central wishlist for everything.

The one thing that bothers me is, just recently, the "searching Amazon for comparable item" or whatever quit working. I would use that to compare items from other sites to Amazon-available items. That cost this review 1 star.

Although I do like the choice of wishlists we have now as I have 1 public for gift ideas and 2 for private use.

Perfect Idea For Airheads like me!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So often I will just "window" shop online, and come across some really great things that I JUST HAVE TO HAVE!! (lol...) Any site I'm on I can save a pic & description of almost anything for sale online!! Keeps me from doing so much impulse shopping too... I put it in the wish list, then later when I go over what is in there, I decide if I really need it or not. Totally recommend this add-on to anyone who frequently shops online.

I really like this add on. Being able to pick which of my wish lists is nice, as is choosing which item when there are multiple on a single page without having to open each item. Renaming the item is also nice. My only issue is after I added it to FF and restarted, there was no graphic on the button. There was a blank spot on my toolbar and if I hovered the tool tip told me what it was. I checked Customize Toolbar but there was no button in there for Amazon. But I restarted FF a second time and finally saw a graphic where the empty spot had been. Otherwise this is a great add on!

The Amazon Add to Wish List button is perhaps my favorite Add-On! It is so simple to use and I love the fact that I can add an item without having to go to the Amazon page. This Add-On has even become a part of my extended family's annual Christmas party. We draw names for gifts since there are so many of us and everyone knows to check out a person's Amazon Wish List for ideas. This saves so much time in figuring out what a person might like. However, it keeps up the element of surprise since we no longer have to ask our gift-ee for ideas. With the ability to add items to my wishlist from any website, this Add-On really corrals all of my ideas, must-try products, and birthday wishes.

What makes this a great extension is that it is simple and easy. I also like that it just takes up one little spot on my toolbar so it doesn't matter how seldom I use it I won't be bothered by it taking up valuable real estate.

If you are like me and primarily shop through amazon, this simple extension makes keeping track of the few things you want that aren't on amazon easy.

Some neat little features that aren't mentioned in the description are that you can add notes for each item and then choose which of your wish lists you want the item to be on.

Good - could be better Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Great idea and simple to use.
Annoyance:
1) I have multiple Wish Lists at a single Amazon site. When adding, the drop down box only ever offers the default 'Wish List' name instead of the actually lists I have. On clicking, I'm pushed into the Amazon site where I can choose the particular list. That is a pain if you're adding lots of items. I'd expect the drop-down to present the actual wish list names I have so I don't have to go into Amazon site until I'm ready to compare products .
2) For sites where there is a price excl VAT and another incl VAT, the "excl VAT" price is always pre-filled into the panel. I'd like to be able to set options so that it's always incl VAT selected.

Multi-region support half-way there Rated 3 out of 5 stars

As a Canadian working in the UK who travels frequently to the US, I have three Amazon accounts. (.ca, .co.uk, .com). Unfortunately, it means I'm forced to have three Amazon wishlists, one per regional site.

Positives with the new version of the button:
- Allowing me to choose a default site for my wishlist is way better than having a US-only version of the button.

Negative:
- Why limit to only one?
- This means I still have to maintain another wishlist for my family in Canada, or my personal use in the UK.

Suggestion for v1.8: Allow a selection of checkboxes that will simultaneously post to wishlists in other regions.
Or better yet, offer a single, synchronized wishlist across multiple regional accounts....I'm only one person, it would be great if my interactions with Amazon could represent that!

Updated review: Works now - had to manually add button to toolbar Rated 4 out of 5 stars

UPDATED Review: Simply had to add the button manually. Installing and enabling the add-on did not result in the button being placed anywhere. Perhaps due to another add-on or something. Anyway - I decided I may as well see if the button was properly added to the "View->Customize Toolbar" menu items list. It was, and I simply dragged it on to a toolbar. Tested it a bit - it's not quite perfect at this point, but the particulars belong in the appropriate forum and/or bugzilla. Main thing is, basically - it works, and it's pretty cool.

When adding an item from a non-Amazon website, it provides a "verify this action" dialog, rather than just shoving something in to the wishlist - a good validation feature and design. In this dialog, it shows the item name and price (thumbnail if avail, and L/R <- -> buttons to choose other thumbs/images from the page, if available, to associate with the new wishlist item), with an "Add to Wishlist" button next to it, so you can verify the action, update the description or name, and pick the thumbnail you want to show up in your wishlist. At the same time (prior to raising the verify dialog box), it checks Amazon's catalog for the same item(s), and if found, it shows Amazon's price (if available anyway) and a _second_ "Add to Wish List" button next to IT - providing the choice of adding Amazon's or the original vendor's item (link) to add to your wish list. In fact, it looks like you could choose to add item listings; in-effect deferring the buying choice to later, for yourself or perhaps friends/loved-ones, if you're sharing the wishlist with them).

Cool stuff - and it seems that the "also-offered-at-Amazon" look-up/query has an "HA" kind of connection/priority - there was scarcely any delay before I got the "This item is also offered by Amazon.. " notification. Impressive IMFAO. If you get this "we sell this too" message, you can open another tab or whatever (the dialog is, appropriately, not modal - nice), browse the item to verify it's the same, the price, etc.., and then return to the dialog and proceed to add one (or both, i think) to your wishlist. It did make a mistake on a "matching item", but it conveniently provides one other button (again, only if found at Amazon) for you to indicate, if you want to, that this was NOT a reasonable matching item (pretty cool). At first I thought the other vendor had a substantially better price, then realized that the Amazon price was for a bundle/package of TWO of the items. So, technically it was not really a match, in terms of a single purchase to add to your list/cart, and I flagged it as such.
(not quite apples/oranges, more like apple/apples, alol). Nuff said.

Anyway - this is pretty slick. I have a real love/hate with Amazon in general, and it's hard to reason the ambivalence and stay objective (Amazon rocks - but it's arguably bad for the U.S. economy; e.g. I loved visiting Borders). Anyway, enough diatribe. Lastly - I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer to drink single-malt scotch.

A cool add-on.

This add on was useless.. Nothing I supposedly added showed up on my Amazon Wish List. Silly me to actually trust this and not bookmark the pages.. Now time to back track on everything I lost.

Would Love to Help

Hello from Wish List. I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience (and for my delayed reply.) This add-on typically works great, and is a very popular way for our customers to keep track of everything in one place. Upon adding items we confirm the item add and provide a link to the Wish List it was added to. Sometimes things can go wrong when customers might not now that they have 2 accounts (2 password/e-mail combinations) or Wish Lists on multiple Amazon websites (we have retail sites in many different countries). This is just a guess though for your situation. If you would like individual help please find the feedback link found on our Wish from Any Website homepage: http://www.amazon.com/wishlist/universal. I hope this helps.

Privacy concern Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I would like this button, but after reading about Add to Wish List in the Google Chrome marketplace, I got a bit afeared. That marketplace said it tracks everything you do online. This would be good for more accurate recommendations, but I would like to know if I could turn this off before using it. Then I would give it four stars.

Privacy

Hello from Wish List. We actually look at your open tabs only at the time of install so we can ascertain which Amazon locale you are shopping from. This is the Amazon country we default your Wish List item adds to. I hope this helps.

It appears to mostly work only on large, established sites. I've been shopping for days and only about 10% of the product pages I viewed were indicated as being valid product pages. Sometimes I click on the image link on a page and it will allow me to add it from there, but that's useless, it's just a link to an image. There is also no way to customize the wishlist entry. You can't tell it what image to use, or in my case, it doesn't show any images.
I would like to be able to add items from my wishlist page using the product's url. At least that would be a workaround.
Also, at no point did it ever add a button on a product page, only the toolbar button (FF 6 and 7). That doesn't really bother me, it just doesn't work as advertised. Overall: disappointing.
