Sort and Search Customization Dialogs

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Before You Try This - BACK UP YOUR PROFILE

It completely wrecked my vertical tab bar
Lost items from my AIOS Toolbar and moved it
Changed Icons elsewhere
Clobbered Search Bar Autosizer

I thought I was getting a sorted customize button box, what I got was a bunch of tangled zippers - thank God for firefox backup/restore

MR Tech Toolkit

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I used maybe 20% of the MR Tech Toolkit features of in FF3.6, I've found FF4 alternatives for most of them. Some are a bit better than their MRTT feature and some not quite as good - but they're all liveable with.

The only thing I've not found and that I miss is an equivalent of the MRTT's Add on Manager menu. Does anyone know of another extension that does a menu for Add Ons Manager similar to the one provided by MRTT.

I've always rated MRTT 4/5 star, precisely because it's like swiss army knife.

But I'm beginning to wonder if its not better to have many small add-ons each addressing a specific need, rather than a few swiss-army-knives/ jack-of-all-trades add-ons. Guess I'll see how I feel when MR Toolkit is released for FF4.

FxIF

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@Webnician wrote "As a suggestion, I wish the EXIF data could be displayed either directly in the contextual menu, in the sidebar, or in a single always-on-top window. Currently, for every image you want to inspect, you must open another "properties" window. It's the appropriate place for the info, but it has limitations -- as soon as you click the page, the properties window is hidden. Then again, perhaps Firefox could provide the option of floating, copying, and saving the "properties" window"

I like the fact that I can have multiple properties windows - if you get a gadget that adds stay on top option to any window (I use the one from ActualTools, its payware but it works) then you can compare the data in the two, three ... six windows- and that's really useful. So I for one would like things to stay the way they are - ie the window persists until I tell it to go away. If you want it in the sidebar you can easily copy and paste it into something like Quicknote that can dock in a sidebar.

Notepad (QuickFox)

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

No Option to park it in the side bar - QN can
If note has url's they are not hot - nor are they in QN
If its going to be a free floating window, with no option to park in the sidebar, then a stay on top button is almost mandatory, not an issue in QN
Re previous comment about colors, QFN "adopts" the Theme color which in my opinion is correct (in my case thats black). The previous comment about it being anemic indicates the users theme is anemic. QN is not necessarily Post-It yellow, the color on each tab can be changed (hint hint)
If I could park it in the sidebar and urls were hot then I'd consider switching from QN to this one if .
The name was changed, to FastNotes or FoxNotes, IMO using QuickFox Notes is close to a breach of trademark - at least from an ethical perspective if not a legal one.

works fine for me, would like to see more IPTC data and configur-ability.

I can't imagine I'd ever want to see keywords but I'd often like to see Category, Credits and Object Name; someone else might want to see keywords or supplemental categories.

Same with EXIF fields, if I want them all then I'll download into Exiftool or PhotoMe. In the browser I'd prefer to limit it to say Camera Make, Model, Exposure Time., FNumber, ISO, Shutter Speed, Max Aperture, Distance, LightSource, Focal Length

Overall its pretty good.

AutoCopy

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I would like an option that allows me to disable autocopy outside of main content panel - i.e. so that it does not operate in find bar, search bar, url bar, etc

Interestingly it does not operate in a Quicknotes note - which is exactly the way I want it.

Unofficial Google Translate Firefox extension 1.3

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A "Copy to Clipboard" button in the results frame would be nice

Rather than having separate Translate From & Translate To context menu items, it might be better to have a single combined one like Hyperwords - anything to reduce the size of main context menu.

Tiny Menu

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I tried this, or something like it, a long time back; can't remember the problem, probably coexistence with another extension.

But now it is perfect, I'm down to two toolbars.

Please don't fix it, its not broken

FoxTab

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Didn't work well with my TabMixPlus settings, so I'll stick with TabScope.

Enhanced History Manager

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I got this because I sometimes get lost in sites - i.e. I want to get back to where I've been - a traceroute so to speak.

I also find DomainHistory and Scrapbook useful in this respect.

A feature that would be really useful is the ability to export the history, cut and paste loses the cr/lf so its difficult to read, a comma or semicolon separated file would be a nice touch.

RoboForm Password Manager

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I found Roboform too instrusive - especially the way it handled passwords, what\'s more this robot breaks all three of Asimovs Laws of Robotics.
