Workaround for TB bug 177175 and improves personal TB-startup process Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Loading of Thunderbird takes a minute even from SSD, so I'll concentrate on something else. I'm using Lightning with multiple accounts and get in the current Version (38.1.0) 4-5 master password input boxes. And when I'm not paying attention and do not enter the master password for a while the server connection might time out.
This add-on fixes these problems. Only one prompt directly after starting Thunderbird without delay.
So simple and so so effective!

Thank you

Fazlasıyla işimi görüyor. Yapanın emeğine sağlık. Benden başka kimse mozillama girip ayarlarımla oynayamaz :D

Uninstall. Please Uninstall? Really? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Originally I just wanted to try it out, but the add-on just couldn't let me go. It wouldn't uninstall. Gone from the add-ons page, but the pop up stuck around. I eventually had to uninstall firefox and delete the local user appdata (on all accounts?) just to get the damn thing off. Might have been something I'd use in a different setting, but with this problem... no. Just no. To top it off I had to deal with this during finals week, so you get a permanent 1 star. I will not change it, I will not delete it. Good day, sir/ma'am.

Finally a fix for a longstanding Thunderbird annoyance (multiple password prompts when using calendar addons, etc.)

Çok Başarılı Rated 5 out of 5 stars

İşini gerçekten iyi yapıyor. Belirlediğiniz parola veya şifre olamdan firefox'u sizden başka kimse açamaz.

Works perfectly! Adds, or rather corrects something which you would expect to find in ThunderBird by default.

In FireFox, the only use of the master password is to protect the other passwords. The FF version of this add-on basically extends that use to have it restrict access to the program itself. You are right that this is easily circumvented.

In ThunderBird, the master password is used by default to restrict access to the entire program. You can't circumvent it, even if you would disable this add-on.

False security Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Does what it advertises, however it doesn't protect you in any way, since it's just a plugin and plugins can be disabled without access to browser.

Holding Shift while clicking to open Firefox, will force Safe Mode, which disables all plugins including this one, yet cookies and logins are still accessible.

Don't get me wrong, it might fool the fools, but it's not enough for actual security.

Gets Job Done Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It is good because it does not let you open Thunderbird unless you enter your master password. However, you have to tick the associated box first. It is on Thunderbird > add-on title.

Cancel button opens firefox instead of closing it Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Go to StartupMaster Add-on, click hypertext link MORE
Check "Quit if the master password dialog is closed"

Perfect fix for the Lightning bug that triggers numerous master password prompts on startup. Just a single popup on TB 31.

Works Fine with Thunderbird 31.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Simple solution to the 12 year old bug in Thunderbird (bug ID 177175) that causes multiple master password prompts.

Doesn't seem to work well on the latest version of Firefox. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Currently using Firefox 31 (Beta) pressing the Cancel button opens the Firefox instead of closing it.

Simple, Easy to Use, and Useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This should be something that's built into FireFox (which I think I've mentioned before). I'd reviewed this in 2012 but it has worked so well and been annoyance free for so long I felt it was worth another mention. Also the fact that the programmer is still around is also worth mentioning since there are so many add-on's that show-up and then disappear.

I've been using StartupMaster for about 3 years and it has worked without problems through every version and update of FireFox I've installed alongside the dozens of other add-ons I've installed. That includes all of the beta versions of FireFox (Nightly) that were installed on my laptop over the past year.

StartupMaster has not been broken during the frequent code changes in FireFox where other add-on's have and that alone is worth a couple of stars. No app is always error free or without conflicts but in almost 3 years I've not had a single issue with it.

StartupMaster is not fancy, it does not have unnecessary features, and it works. For me, simple and easy always beats out complicated and easy to break.

Well I don't have multiple popups for master password, but I tried this out anyway and I like the feature where the main window is hidden.

However... the extension pentadactyl offers two ways of quitting firefox. If I quit using the ZZ shortcut, it turns on the "show my tabs from last time" setting before closing firefox, then the next time firefox starts, the setting is returned to "show homepage".

Somehow, StartupMaster is interfering with this, and my session is not being restored. I tried ticking the setting about loading extensions at a different point, but it didn't solve the issue.
