Why was Smiley Fixer created?
I made this add-on because I was sick of getting emails from my colleagues with apparently random "J" or "è" characters. After viewing the source code of these emails and asking about them on superuser.com, I found out that it was another case of Windows doing something wrong.
I realised that the only way I was going to be able to fix this was to make everyone use an email client that wasn't broken, or write an add-on to work around the problem. Here's the add-on, because my Men in Black mind wipe machine has run out of batteries.
What's next for Smiley Fixer
Fix other incorrect snippets as I come across them in the wild.
Let me know if you have any ideas to improve the add-on, though right now it is stable and does exactly what I need.
