My Reviews

HTTPS Everywhere

Amazing!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Everybody should be using this!!!!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.1.0).

Calomel SSL Validation

Simply great for "simplifying" SSL/TLS Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This extension is great for simplifying and showing in quick second how bad/good the SSL/TLS of a given site one is on is currently at. I don't necessarily agree with the rankings sometimes, but once you get use to what is is measuring and how the points are awarded it is very eye-opening to see what many popular sites are actually using.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.78).

CipherFox

Great information! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this extension for the ability to show all the neat little extra information I want to know about my SSL connection with sites where I'm using 'https'.

My only quip is that the layout should be multi-lined because I have it dump out so much information that it gets truncated in newer versions of Firefox because the layout has changed for the SSL window (when you click the padlock) in Firefox 41+.

Still an amazing extension. Power users should definitely use this!

uBlock Origin

uBlock Origin is amazing! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

uBlock Origin has a fantastic set of features. It basically replaces the need of using Request Policy and any type of Adblocking extension.

I highly recommend this addon to everybody!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1).

µBlock

uBlock Origin is better Rated 1 out of 5 stars

uBlock Origin is far superior to just "uBlock" anymore. The maintainers may have different visions, but the uBlock Origin people update their addon a lot more frequently and have added a ton of new features.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.3.5).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Adblock Edge

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fantastic! This is much better than Adblock Plus, it seems to handling of larger and more complicated blocking list without much of a performance drawback.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.1-signed.1-signed).

FireGestures

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this extension and I definitely prefer it over All In One Gestures. As this extension works on tabs for the Addon Manager and other Firefox specific tabs that AIOG seems to not close.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7.1-signed).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Ghostery

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love extensions like this that are aimed at protecting a users privacy on the web from third party elements on websites. I use this in combination with Do Not Track Me and Adblock Plus (with several additional blocklists). However, I've never had the time, but I would be very interested in seeing how the block lists for Ghostery and Do Not Track Me compare. From some really basic tests (disabling one of them and leaving the other enabled (with ABP disabled)) it seems that Ghostery and DNTMe do *NOT* have the same block lists. Which begs the question, what is DNTMe missing and what is Ghostery missing?

Web Developer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I couldn't ask for a better extension for tweaking webpages live. This extension is fantastic for testing and playing around with CSS elements and Javascript.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.5.1-signed.1-signed).

Live HTTP Headers

Sneaky Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this extension. It is great for debugging websites and setting what headers are specifically being sent and received. It is also useful to spy on various extensions and see how often they "phone home" or are working the way they are designed to.

Add-on Compatibility Reporter

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon is great for developers and people who want to help developers chart the success of their addons across various platforms and versions of Firefox.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.1.1-signed.1-signed).

BetterPrivacy-signed

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great for setting it to remove any flash cookies within 1 second of it being stored.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.68.1-signed).

ColorZilla

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon is great for those who don't have the time to reverse engineer the CSS/HTMLm to figure out what that one pesky background color is on the page. It also works on images too, which is great for creating matching CSS layouts.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.8.1-signed).

Firebug

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Surpasses the developer mode available in Google Chrome by leaps and bounds!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.11.2.1-signed).

FireGestures

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension is a lot better than the other top gesture addon because it doesn't "get suck" in right click mode when switching tabs, which then leads to the unfortunate drawing of the line. I love this addon.

My only gripe is that it does not work with the latest Firefox ESR (17.x at this writing).

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.22.1-signed).

NoScript Security Suite

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon really does help make the web safer!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6.6.1-signed).

Perspectives

Everyone should use this! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of my favorite addons. It helps in identifying potential MITM attacks and seeing when sites actually update their SSL certificates and verifying that you aren't the only one receiving a specific certificate. Everyone should use this extension, and if you have the resources please run a Notary Server!
