Thank you very much! This plugin have surely saved me from this terrible new design that was forced on me with update to 29.0. Now it I have an almost identical experience as with 28.0, but more stable and fast.
If you for some reason still remain unhappy with 29.0, I have been recommended its user friendly, but otherwise identical twin browser called "Pale Moon". org
Unfortunately it seem that this fantastic plugin is DoA. It hasn't been updated for more than 2 years. I suggest someone else get the source code (link below) and start hacking up a new plugin. We can't live without this. FF crashes bloody all the time, even randomly under 20 tabs. Not sure wtf FF devs are doing, when the browser gets larger, slower and less stable for every update.
Great extension that work outof the box on all FF versions (I'm on 26.0) . Also, very nice to see that the developer is working on an update and occasionally answers reviews..For a list of UA's check this one:
It covers pretty much every Crawler, Browser, Library out there...
Great App and Urgently needed! Obviously Google doesn't want you (or everyone) to use this app, so they change stuff around. Thus this app need an urgent and more frequent updates. PLEASE FIX!!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.20).
This could potentially be a very interesting a FF Add-On, but I really don't like (read -> find very suspicious) a few things:
(1) It is (still) not reviewed by Mozilla.
(3) out of >5500 downloads only 2 has rated it [in the last 2 m.], one which seem to be a "friend" of the author.
Strangely, after that comment, in less than 4 days, there have suddenly been 35 more "reviews", although the lack of fantasy of the actual reviewers are stunning...
(4) There is no telling (at the moment) if the "free" proxies are really to be trusted, as it is unclear how they were obtained. Likewise can be said about the web site of "proxylist.co" itself.
(5) Your life should not depend on this add-on, as I suspect that every time you go to a new site, "proxylist.co" will use this new IP to get some of the the new information that is shown when yo hoover above the "H" icon...
(a) It does NOT save your last settings, if you have enabled "randomization" of User Agent or Referer.
(b) The "settings" are unclear and too much limited. "Clear all cookies on every new proxy." ??? -- I don't want it to clear ALL my cookies. The cookie container should be separate for each proxy! (And my original ones should be put back after proxy change.)
(c) It is wrongly stated that you can set your "own" referer. You can NOT, you have to choose one.
I give this a 1 star until I can get some feedback on these comments!
@thegreys: Your "unofficial update" doesn't wok, since you are using an unpaid for rapidshare account which only allows 10 downloads! (Why would you use this anyway?! Planting malware?)
@Dave S: Your hack doesn't work. I get a "no install script" error, when following your suggestion...
Great highlighter! Please update!
@ apelsinen: Well, if it is that simple, why hasn't it already been updated! It was 6 months ago, last time! This is what we call "abandonware"!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).
Why don't you just update the bloody plug-in, instead of providing lame hacks that are not working!? I see on your github that you made some changes...This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).
