My Reviews

FoxySpider

Nearly quite good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The problem is this addon is fully nuclear. Except for a blacklist and media type selection, there aren't many ways to focus in on what you want.

-The blacklist should be able to be disabled with a check box.
-A whitelist with an enable/disable option should also be available. (E.g. You only want pictures found on ImageShack or similar image host sites.)
-Restrictions should be available: Ignore images/videos/audio above/below certain dimensions or file sizes.
-And really critical but missing options: Do not spider links that aren't on the original website/URL. Ignore media that isn't on the original website/URL. Ads, google, off site links and social media links get spider without this option.
You can nearly mimic this, but it is bare bones. This should be found under the preferences tabs.
Otherwise, I find this to be useful.
Edit: Oh yeah, and the 'Download files' button is still broken for me in v1.5.6.

YouTube ALL HTML5

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I'm not sure I see the point of this.
If you go to https://www.youtube.com/html5 and click "Request the HTML5 Player", this is done automatically by YouTube.
Some of the other tweaks are nice, but otherwise this isn't needed.

Classic TB2

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you. Makes TB 31 tolerable.
Recommend you use "Rise of the Tools" with this (although it would be nice to see something similar integrated."

Rise of the Tools

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

5 out of 5. Does just what is says on the tin.

Mozilla really needs to stop making pointless UI changes.

Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Not quite what I expected.
Downloads are done externally by VideoDroid.org which requires CAPTCHA for 1080p. The site can be used without the addon so the benefit is minimal. (Although cheers to the author for creating VideoDroid.)
All 1080p audio tracks are re-encoded when the better method would have been to mux with the best available track that can be found in the 720p stream.

XML Viewer

No luck here. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

FF 24 and no context option.
I'll keep watch for an update that works...

Image Zoom

Nearly perfect Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Back when development halted I modded v0.4.7 changing the left mouse to a fit width/fit height toggle and the middle mouse to fit window/reset. Edit: Development has slowed again, so I modded 0.6.3 the same way. Wish this was a feature. Will share if there is interest.

Chrome View

Does what it says. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works fine with FF3.6.

Wishlist: View as Chrome in a FF tab (like IE Tab).

Open In Chrome

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Doesn't actually work with FF 3.6.

Selecting it does nothing, bit I think the issue is locating the Chrome executable. The 'Browse' button doesn't work in the preferences, and manually entering the location gives me red text.

Be nice... if it worked for me.

Edit: Using FF 3.6.27 and the latest version available. The "Browse" for Chrome still doesn't work, and like I said, nothing happens whether the red is informative or not.

CS Lite Mod

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love the cookiesafe series of addons.

I modded the minversion to install this on v3.6 and it seems to be a bit more stable than the "CookieSafe (FF 4 compatible)" version.
Oddly, neither version will show me the last 10 hosts, I'm not sure why.

BetterPrivacy

Mostly works, better than blindly deleting all LSOs Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Recent version (1.68) is available on the author's website: http://nc.ddns.us/BetterPrivacy/BetterPrivacy.htm. It fixes the bug that caused BP to delete protected LSOs AND the protection list.
The link was broken, but seems to be working now. It should be added here by the author though.

For some reason it still removes my Pandora log-in (but DOESN'T delete the protected LSOs).
Edit: Disabled the "Auto-delete DOMStorage file" to fix this problem.

Still worthing having. hectw should get the update and try again. (Btw, I've found newer versions to be 2-3x more resource heavy than good old v3.6... so I wouldn't be quick to blame BP for the issue.)

FaviconizeTab

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Does just what it says on the tin.

One of the best features of newer Firefox versions. I downgraded to 3.6 because it's less of a resource hog. Great to not have to lose this.

Be nice if faviconized tabs had an indicator when there is an update though. (Why I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars.)

MAFIAAFire Redirector

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

In my last review I made a suggestion that most plugin authors would probably have disregarded as trolling.
The feature was actually added, and I've now reinstalled this plugin and worship the author as a minor deity.
While I don't currently go to any sites that are being redirected, it's a great preventative measure and I just might check these sites out now. ;-)
Thanks for defending our Constitution. 5 out of 5.

F.B. Purity - Cleans Up Facebook

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works mostly as advertised. I love this. It lets you take back your facebook page.
Custom blacklist is great for filtering liked articles from sources you hate.
Be aware: Liked or recommended links are filtered regardless of your setting for the option. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future version.

FacebookBlocker

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Not functional on all sites. Left behind loading bar that wouldn't stop in some cases.Instead get AdBlocker and subscribe to the Antisocial block list. It prevents THIRD PARTY integration of facebook (along with many other social network sites). It actually works, saves your bandwidth, covers more content, and you probably already have AdBlocker installed. Subscribe to Antisocial here: http://adversity.uk.to/

MAFIAAFire Redirector

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I'd like to see this redirect BEFORE loading the ICE take down page. I think we'd all feel a little more secure that way.

SwiffOut Fullscreen Games

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Does just what it says on the tin.I'd like to see functionality extend to flash video as well. Flash has a very poor resizer for full screen. Many people experience full screen stuttering because of it (especially at high desktop resolutions)Anyway, thanks for the nice plugin.

MediaPlayerConnectivity

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Hoped to use this to watch Flash H264 content in Media Player Classic with CoreAVC to improve performance. Unfortunately with every site I've tried MediaPlayerConnectivity reads the .swf player file, but none of the flash streams. A real disappointment.

CompactHeader

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Beta3 prevents attachments from being opened. Stick with the v1.2.4.
Edit: Tested 1.4.0 Beta1. I can confirm this issue is fixed (either by author or tbird update.)
Upgraded rating to 5 stars. Mozilla should have made this a feature.
