Foxden: Your life on one page

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great start! Some enhancements would make it even better:

** Persist subframe sizes (divider positions) between sessions;
**Allow right-click / context menu;

**Implement (optional) saved "groups" of configurations (combinations of the FoxDen window), so that saved groups can be selected from a menu (preferably context menu);

That is all for now, but I may think of more, because I think that this extension is a great idea and has a lot of potential!! Keep up the great work! :)

Make a portable version! Pretty please? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This extension looks awesome, but the external app is not portable! :-( I would like this a lot if the external app could be made portable for a USB drive (to be integrated with Firefox Portable), but until then I can't use it. I hope a USB-drive feature will be added soon, because right now lack of portability is a deal-breaker for me. :-/

TooManyTabs - Saves Your Memory

Great & keeps getting better!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on is awesome and keeps getting better!! It makes my Firefox LIGHTNING FAST! I have been using this add-on constantly from the first release til now, and have *not* experienced any bugs or problems mentioned in some other users' comments. Version 0.4 is especially awesome because there is no limit to # of rows and rows can be named. One feature I would really like to see is add a hotkey (keyboard shortcut) that simulates clicking the rows menu button (shows the popup menu to select a row). In the meantime, you can use KeyConfig to set up shortcuts to individual rows with the command "document.getElementById('toomanytabs').selectRow(index);" where index is the order position of the row in the menu (first item is 0, second is 1, third is 2, etc.) Also, would it be possible for tabs that are set to a certain color in the TMT rows to also be that same color when opened to the normal tab bar? Optional tab grouping by domain (or even better, by subdomain) along with group coloring would be fantastic too. And as I mentioned before, rearranging tabs on the TMT bar via drag-n-drop is much needed and probably easy to implement. Keep up the great work!

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great idea, but needs polishing. I have a few suggestions...

** (1): Please fix slight incompatibility with Read It Later extension. (If RIL is enabled for Google Reader, then *in EXTENDED view* the checkbox from extReader covers up the RIL checkmark next to each RSS item, and *in LIST view* the checkbox from extReader covers up the Star icon next to each RSS item.)

** (2): Allow selecting (check the boxes) of multiple items using the shift key, like in GMail. So for example, if I check the first RSS item in a feed and then check the 10th RSS item in the same feed while holding down the Shift key, then all the items from the first to the 10th would be checked. The same principle should apply for unchecking (so really it would TOGGLE the checked state of items in the range).

** Also, would it be possible to make this extension available as a Greasemonkey script? That way, GM users don't have to install yet another Firefox extension, and the on/off ability of extReader's features would be possible with a GM extension. Thank you for all your hard work and keep it up! I hope to see updates and improvements to this extension soon. :-)

TooManyTabs - Saves Your Memory

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a continuation of my previous post. As I said before, this addon is awesome especially because it makes Firefox SO MUCH FASTER!! I just thought of a few more suggestions for features to add and/or compatibility issues to fix...

** I stated previously that TMT works well with Tab Kit and does not interfere with grouping. I just discovered, though, that TMT breaks Tab Kit's automatically "collapse inactive groups" option. If this option is ON, then moving tabs up to the TMT rows does not work properly. When clicking the arrow to move the tab up there, the tab shows up on the TMT row (as intended), but it also *remains* on the normal tab bar, within its Tab Kit group. I suspect that this also keeps it in memory and does not utilize TMT's memory-saving feature in that case. This only applies for tabs that are *already in a TabKit group*, and this behavior occurs as long as the Tab Kit "collapse inactive groups" feature is on - *regardless* of whether or not the clicked tab's group is collapsed or not. Please fix this conflict.

** On a similar note to the above, it would be fantastic if TooManyTabs rows/groups and TabKit groups could be *integrated*, or if you could incorporate some of Tab Kit's functionality into TMT. (If you could do this, I would make a generous paid PayPal donation, even though I've admittedly never donated to an add-on before - that's how much I would love this functionality.) It would be amazing if Tab Kit groups could *share* API characteristics of TMT groups, so that Tab Kit groups could be moved up to their own new TMT rows *as a group*, and so that tab group color schemes would be integrated in the normal tab bar (which Tab Kit does now) in the *same colors/groups* as the TMT row tabs, based on domain or subdomain. On the same idea, this could allow tabs to be moved to/from the TMT rows in groups.

** I already mentioned that drag-and-drop rearranging of TMT groups would be useful. I want to add that drag-and-drop rearranging of individual tabs within each TMT group would also be much appreciated.

....I think I thought of some other ideas earlier, but I don't remember them right now. I'll add them when I remember. Please understand that this is all CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. I'm *not* trying to be rude or unreasonably demanding, I do appreciate all your hard work, and I wouldn't bother if I didn't think this addon had HUGE POTENTIAL to be extraordinary!! :-)

TooManyTabs - Saves Your Memory

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! Here are some ideas to make it even better... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

FANTASTIC!! This is the first tab management add-on that actually addresses the problems of slow speed, poor responsiveness, and Firefox's high memory *and* CPU usage when many tabs are open. Also, the tabs/rows/etc are preserved between sessions with the already-popular Session Manager addon, and this integration is a plus. TooManyTabs also works with Tab Kit; I can still automatically group tabs by domain with Tab Kit without messing up the TooManyTabs rows. (Items in TMT rows stay where they are even if I select Group By Domain, so they don't "jump" when I don't need them to. On the other hand, if a *previously* Tab-Kit-grouped tab is placed into a TMT row, it separates easily but then *returns to its group* when I click the TMT tab again to restore it to the main tabs area.) I'm also using Tab Kit's multi-row feature in the main tabs area with no compatibility issues. I have 50+ addons and no problems with any of them, plus my Firefox memory usage is now ~100K-200K (instead of 800K-1200K w/o this addon), so this is amazing!! I just have a couple of suggestions for features that would make this great addon even better...

** Increase the maximum limit of 6 TMT rows/groups - sometimes I need more!!
** Optional "permanent" TMT groups that are always there, regardless of the session that is loaded (personally, I'd use that to keep my GMail, GCal, GReader, etc. always on hand yet out of the way)
** Possibility to assign unique (persistent) NAMES to TMT groups, and also maybe be able to save groups to open later
** Better integration of COLORING tabs that are in TMT groups with Tab Kit group coloring. (Currently the tabs use their own color options when in the top TMT row, which is the right idea, but useless when separated from my existing Tab Kit coloring system. Although the TMT tabs *do* revert to their Tab Kit group's color when they are returned to the main tab area. It would be cool if they could keep their Tab Kit group's color even when in the TMT top row.)
** Allow rearranging of the order of TMT groups with drag-and-drop. (This would be useful for example... say I have 3 TMT rows, each on different subjects A, B, and C. As I continue browsing, I add more tabs to group B, so it becomes full, and I have to open another group - group D - to continue adding tabs up there. But group B and group D are really on the same *subject*, so I want those 2 groups next to each other, without group C between them, since group C is on a different subject. So it would be nice if I could drag group D next to group B to rearrange them as I see fit.)
** Another way to solve the aforementioned issue with subjects of TMT groups is to allow an unlimited number of tabs to be in each group (instead of having it say it's full after the row is filled up). That could work simply by adding scrolling arrows for each TMT group, just like the scrolling arrows on the regular tab bar, so you can just scroll with the arrows if one TMT group gets to have too many tabs to be visible on one row.
... That's all I can think of. I don't usually comment on addons, so the fact that I am doing so says A LOT. I really, really hope that this addon continues to have rapid development, I think it might be my new favorite one!! It definitely deserves to be out of the AMO sandbox A.S.A.P. so that more people can enjoy it!! :-)

Great idea, but needs work Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Would be one of my favorite extensions - I LOVE the grouping methods - but it conflicts with All-In-One-Sidebar!! :-( The left pane / left sidebar does not open AT ALL if AIOS has been installed, even if you disable it! There are also some conflicts with TabKit and probably some other extensions, but those issues are less significant than the AIOS conflict. I hope that this can be fixed soon!

Indispensable! A+++ Rated 5 out of 5 stars

INDISPENSABLE ADDON!! I renamed the tea names to different increments (5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr, etc) and now use it as an alarm/reminder when I know I have to get off the computer soon to attend to some other task. :-P I can tell myself "5 more minutes" and set Tea Timer to 5 min and I know I won't end up spending more time than 5 min because it will notify me! :-)

Excellent extension!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

FANTASTIC!! This extension did not work forme in the past (bookmarks page did not load properly), and I am so glad that it is fixed now. VERY USEFUL, without slowing down Firefox, and I love the new options - to select which folders are shown *and* to customize the CSS of the page - directly from the extension options dialog. Highly recommended! A+++ :-)

Fantastic Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Steep learning curve, with mediocre documentation on the website. However, once you discover all its possibilities, it's the BEST SEARCH EXTENSION OUT THERE!!! I have been using it for months and love it. :-)

Great addon! It is very helpful, but can you please, please add the preview-on-hover tooltips for items in the bookmarks toolbar? That would place this extension in my top 5 addons. :-) Thanks!

I like this theme - simple and pretty. However I think that the buttons would look better if they looked more glossy (less matte and flat). Also styling vertical toolbars to match the theme would be nice.

Gradient iCool (Blue)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

BEAUTIFUL THEME! My main suggestion is PLEASE make the side (vertical) toolbar match the others! Also, the reload button looks too much like an "UP" button (as in, go to parent directory) - it would look better if it was a circular arrow. Otherwise good job!

Places' Tooltips

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

GREAT ADDON!! One suggestion - it would be nice to have options to choose what is visible in the tooltips for bookmarks (in addition to name and url, have options to show tags, descriptions, & maybe last visited date). Otherwise keep up the good work! :-)

GREAT, but where to get BG Images? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on! However, nothing happens when I click "get background images" in options. I tried a Google search but came up with nothing. Where can I get background images?

Find In Tabs

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love it!!! I have been waiting for an extension like this for a long time. Find In Tabs is lean (not bloated like many extensions seem to be), and effective (working flawlessly so far.) It has a simple & versatile interface, too. One feature suggestion would be to have a keyboard shortcut for the "Find in Tabs" button - or at least be able to tab over to the button (from the find input field) and press "space" or "enter" to search in all tabs. By the way, I have 40+ extensions installed and so far Find In Tabs has not conflicted with any of them. :-) Works fine with XUL/Migemo [another extension for the find bar], which automatically keeps "highlight all" selected for normal find bar searches (not in all tabs). Find In Tabs is very useful to me - it is small, yet does exactly what I need - and does it well. I'm very pleased with this add-on. :-)
