Open Access Button

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The addon did not work - unable to activate it - but the bookmark on the OpenAccessButton.org site worked fine.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.1-signed.1-signed).

Menu Wizard

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wonderful!! So simple and straightforward to use!!! Mozilla should employ you instead of the twerps responsible for messing up Firefox with the "Australis" redesign - along with its horrendous, unusable "customisation" panel!!

(No problems with NoScript so far - as mentioned in a previous comment).

I hope you are asking for donations - you deserve paying for this!

Just a thought - it took me ages to find this addon because of the strange name. It does not show up in a search for "menu" so it could really do with relaunching with a name that starts with "Menu" so it is easier to find.

Classic Theme Restorer (Fx29-56)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank goodness for this!!! What a mess of an unusable dog's breakfast Mozilla has made of Firefox 29!! I was about to dump Firefox altogether until I noticed that it was possible to revert the User Interface to 28.

Pinboard IncSearch

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fantastic!!! As well as the search facility it is designed for, you can also use it simply to display your Pinboard bookmarks in a spreadsheet format. The addon automatically displays columns for "Description" (including an excerpt of any note you have added to the bookmark), "Tags", "Time" (time and date added), "Edit" (link that opens the bookmark for editing in another tab/window).

This is one addon I would like to load automatically when I open Firefox so I have made it my Home Screen.

Suggested enhancements, if these are possible:

1) Add an indicator to show whether or not a bookmark is "read later"

2) Add an indicator to show whether or not a bookmark is "starred"

3) Add indications on bookmarks that are "from notes" or "from twitter"

However, even without these extra features - highly recommended!

(@bosia You could use the Firefox View Menu to choose to load the tab in the sidebar once it has loaded)

FirePin

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Looks wonderful but although it is compatible with Firefox on Mac it doesn't work properly, perhaps because the keyboard shortcut to save a bookmark is <Command+D> not <Ctrl+D>.

Using <Command+D> with Firepin, the page is saved to Pinboard but not to Firefox Bookmarks. This applies whether or not Firepin is set to replace Firefox keyboard shortcuts.

When I changed shortcut in Firepin - to <CMD+F> - nothing happened.

I hope it is possible to iron out these wrinkles as it would be a great time-saver to combine saving to Pinboard with saving to Firefox bookmarks.

There is another add on to change Firefox keyboard shortcuts but that does not seem to be working.

(If anyone is using Extension List Dumper add on, it uses Ctrl D and does not have an option to change the Keyboard Shortcut.)

Tweak Network

Wow! Immediate improvement. Slow loading of webpages leading to time-outs has been driving me nuts! I set this to "Power Settings" and whoosh!!!!!

Briliant!

Flexible Identity

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on for ThunderBird! The current version says it is compatible with Seamonkey versions 2.6 - 2.7 but I cannot get it to install as it registers as not compatible with 2.6.1 (on Mac OSX 10.5.8 - Leopard).

Is there a way to edit the xpi file to make SeaMonkey accept it?

Birthday Reminder

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have tried re-syncing and re-linking to this Calendar but it has not worked.

Provider for Google Calendar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really didn't appreciate how much difference this makes until I tried to set up Lightning on SeaMonkey to access Google Calendar and had to use CALDAV. Hoping that it might one day be compatible with SeaMonkey please!

FireFTP

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have been using FireFTP for years (sent a donation early on, chaps!) and every now and again I try to set up another (for a good reason, eg. as part of a combined HTML editor and FTP combined application) but this is the ONLY one I have ever managed to set up without tearing my hair out! Some I just gave up and never managed to do it. I don't know why the others are so difficult when FireFTP is so easy - if you have had problems with anything else, try FireFTP.

Excellent features! Please update for FF4.

AvantGarde

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Looking forward to AvantGarde Nightlife for FF4 as I have just upgraded to FF4 :-)

ScribeFire Classic

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Worried by the comments about tracking so tried to open "Preferences" but the button is dead in Seamonkey 2.0.3. Don't know if other functionality is affected as I haven't tried it due to concerns about the tracking issues mentioned by others.

You have to rate before posting so I have given a 3 star just for the sake of having to give it a rating in order to post a comment.

Gish It!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have returned to Firefox and full Gishpuppy functionality :-)

Apart from the glitch when I switched to Minefield (FF3.0.8) I never had any problems with Gishpuppy and can highly recommend it. If the "right click" option gets lost due to incompatibility with FF updates, just install the bookmarklet and use that instead.

MailNull Now!

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Just in response to Mad Murph's comment that Gishpuppy is no longer working and the domain is for sale - neither is true. Gishpuppy is still working and there is an Add On for the current version of Firefox.
see www.gishpuppy.com

I have never used MailNull but the form requires me to rate it in order to submit a comment - I have given it a 3 just for the sake of having to give a rating.

FireTitle

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Excellent! Except . . . is there any way to save the Firetitles with the session? All I get is blank window names on restart so have to label them every time.

Or is this an add-on compatibility problem? (I am also using Session Manager and Tab Mix Plus, which I guess would be the most likely culprits?).

Gish It!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used this all the time but need to re-install for Minefield (FF 3.0.8) and the version that is supposed to be compatible will not download as I get an error message saying that it is not compatible :-(

Paste Email Plus

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Excellent! I have tried Blank Canvas and Wise Stamp for email signatures - could not get the former to work with GMail on Minefield and Wise Stamp was too limited at just two signatures.

The only tricky thing I have found with Paste Email Plus is that if you try to amend the auto-text it automatically inputs the last auto-text you added - though that might be me not having totally got to grips with it! Just something to watch out for as I amended five signatures by, I thought, adding an extra footer to each and then discovered they had all automatically changed to one particular signature, with increasing numbers of copies of the extra footer at the bottom as I had added it each time.

Very useful add-on all the same (took away one star only because of the slight tricksiness mentioned above - but if that was just my dumbness then it deserves 5 stars.
