My Reviews

StrataM 4

Finally colored buttons Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Now Firefox looks finished.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.12).

Blue Ice Reloaded

Doesn't work Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The buttons are out of alignment with some of them chopped off.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.07032012).

Kempelton Reloaded Large

One of my favorites Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks for bringing back a favorite. It's nice to be able to see the buttons without squinting through my glasses. Goes nicely with Nosquint, another of my favorite and required extensions. I wish my other favorite themes had a bigger button version or option available.

Classicish Add-on Manager

Almost perfect Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I really like it. The only thing is Greasemonkey doesn't show when add-ons is open. I'm not sure that's even something that could be fixed but if you could that would be great. Thanks.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8.1).

Bookmark Current Tab Set

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used this practically every day on Firefox 3 - 3.6 without any problems but no option shows up for "bookmark the current tab set" in the bookmark section of Firefox 4 (Windows). Is the option located someplace else in 4 because I sure haven't been able to find it.

Greasemonkey

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I didn't have any trouble with the latest version (0.9.1) except for finding that I couldn't drag and rearrange my scripts in the bulkier, less compact manage user scripts window or use the Greasefire extension so for the time being I've reverted to version 0.8.6. It's still one of my favorite extensions that I use constantly and I'd most likely switch to the latest version if I could at least rearrange my scripts.

Greasefire

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As has been mentioned Mr Tech Toolkit works great for using Greasefire and for other favorite incompatible addons on the (at this time) current Firefox version 3.6.10. The Nightly Tester Tools also works. Still, I hope Greasefire is updated soon.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.4).

IE Tab

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm sorry to see this isn't being updated anymore. Coral IE Tab isn't an option since it didn't work nearly as well for me when I tried it as IE Tab has.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.20090525).

TinEye Reverse Image Search

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

TinEye results were very disappointing and I felt I had really wasted my time with it. It could barely find a single thing for me. You'll get much better results using image searches like Yahoo or Bing.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.1).

Eraser

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Actually I like the icon myself but I love the extension and it hasn't caused any problems on my Windows XP PC. The way I have it set up is to delete flash cookies, cache and close all tabs every time I close Firefox. I'm unaware of any other free low or possibly no resources extension that can do all three with one click however I wonder if vickyhacky might consider adding a close Firefox check box in a future release? Nonetheless a great tiny, no nonsense addon I'd recommend to anyone and one of my favorites since discovering it several months ago.

Dragon scales firetext

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wow! Now this is what I'm talking about for a unique theme. I like the larger text because my vision is anything but 20/20. I have one niggle however. All the Update Scanner extension text is bold so it looks like have an unread page when I don't. Other than that I love this theme and to the person who gave it one star because it doesn't work with Personas I'd suggest using the Firefox default theme instead of a theme like this that is already customized. It seems like someone here had to state the obvious in defense of such a great theme and I hope to see more like it. Thanks.

Places' Tooltips

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Doesn't do anything on Firefox version 3.5.3. (on XP service pack 3) except cause an annoying Javascript error box to keep popping up until I disabled Places Tooltips.

MyBookmarks

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I had the same problem with the blank blue background until I opened options, clicked on folders and put a check in the "include" box. When I refreshed MyBookmarks everything was great.

Firesomething for all versions Firefox

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm surprised my review is only the second one. No problems here and works great on Firefox 2 and 3.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6).

Go to Selection

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Vanishes from the context menu after opening as little as one tab until Firefox is restarted then the same thing happens again. It doesn't make any difference if any of the boxes are checked under the Functionality setting because it doesn't change anything, the extension still shows in the context menu until you've opened a tab or two, more if you're lucky, before it disappears completely.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.1).

Firesomething

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm still using this with no problems in Firefox 3.0.13 by going to http://quitt.net/mozilla/extensions/ and downloading firesomething-1.8.0-fx-patched3.xpi near the bottom of the page. Thanks to previous commenter kdq for fixing it and making it available on his site. He has also fixed some other extensions like linkchecker which I also sorely missed.

Fasterfox Lite

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works without any problems for me with the default preset on Firefox 3.0.13, the latest 3.5 version and believe it or not even the last Netscape Navigator. (which I don't use on a regular basis of course) As far as I can see it makes a noticeable improvement in browsing.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.8.2Lite).

Basic Bookmarks for Firefox

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This works okay if you only want to see your unsorted bookmarks in the sidebar.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3).
