If this addon is installed, viewing XML files in the browser yields a blank page. Otherwise good addon, but not sure if worth it. Please fix this issue
nbar can cause your browser to hang when pasting an extremely long url, for example view: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=dz5vAsKN
The browser will hang for 1 or more minute when trying to edit values of that png data image.
Another frequent bug I witnessed was sometimes awesomebar entries would show up as "null" and stop working. It seems very random which searches it happens with but it happenes enough where it is too annoying. I didn't provide a screenshot but can if anyone is interested.
I made a clone of this addon where you do not have to be at page bottom to go to the page.
Good but I would prefer mouse gestures! This would make since when scrolling with mouse.
This addon does what it advertizes perfectly but there are a few gripes: The only way to access the User Agent Switcher is by pressing "alt" to revial th menu under tools. It is not accessable in the firefox button. I would like to see it under the Web Development button. This also poses a problem for Ubuntu Firefox who are unable to access the Firefox menu unless we enable global menu integration addon provided by Ubuntu. Another, I would LOVE to see an option to change the OS user agent. Pretty Please?
@mojo Adblock plus does what it does very well, use a different add-on if you want to block just popupsThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52-signed).
Why the **** did mozilla remove this feature
Mozilla, this should be a default addonThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1).
I did some testing with the new Firefox 3.5 with and without Fasterfox lite 3.1.1.
It turns out that fasterfox hardly makes a difference on load times as shown by my test scenario.
For my test, I ran Windows Vista SP1, with a wireless DSL Modem @ 54Mbsp.
For measuring, I installed the Extend Statusbar addon to measure load times (I didn't use fasterfox's built in counter). Adblock plus is also enabled.
For the control group (this would be WITHOUT fasterfox lite) I have fasterfox disabled, but it's settings are reverted to Default so it should have no effect on load times.
For the experiemental group (with Fasterfox) I have the settings on TurboCharged.
Here are the results (in milisec); "Without" is without fasterfox, "With" is with it:
www.yahoo.com (opened on startup): Without:4.065 / With:4.047
www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/main_page (logged in): Without:6.745 / With:7.619
www.youtube.com (logged in): Without:2.248 / With: 2.595
dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust (a java app): Without:2.230 / With:1.924
I've tested these sites multiple times and have gotten different results each time. Load times are variable, sometimes up to a millisecond different, and sometimes "With" won where "Without" didn't and visa-versa. For an addon that advertises it "will speed up your web browsing right out of the box", I would say this addon does not do its job, and don't recommend it.
This addon messes up the context menus, here is a bigfix from mozdev
http://snaplinks.mozdev.org/installation.html fixes the right-click, contextual issue
I LOVE this addon but it breaks spell checking suggestions and other context menus. Please fix these bugs
It would be nice if there were an option to organize the status barThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.6).
Better than Update Scanner and Follow That Page. I would recommend this to anyone. Far more options are provided here than those other addons.
I would like a cleaner GUI but even so, this is the best
greatThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.0.4).
love it but "clear this flag tab" makes the tab white. This is especially visible in themesThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.3).
actually I'm not 100% positive my review is accurate, but I'm not saying it isn't
I've had this plugin for a while and I more than enjoyed it. However, I've since uninstalled it because this thing makes in-browser flash jumpy and periodically freeze. If this error could be fixed, I'd be thrilled but it just isn't worth it.
This is so handy, it is an absolute must have. Firefox should come with it defaultThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.4).
very good. this is a superb and non-intrusive addon
Very good but is incompatible with FlagTab's colors. When a tab color is set with FlagTab, after a few clicks, the color disappears. Please, please fix. Thank you, perfect otherwise
