My Reviews

Closy

A+ - if you like tabs, then this is for you :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love this addon. I realize that Firefox now offers "Close tabs to the right" as an OOTB feature, but this has MUCH more robust options (including my other favorites, "Close duplicate tabs" + "Close tabs to the left").

I saw the earlier comment about being incompatible with FF v22.0. I suspect that this was probably from an upgrade (I had problems with a lot of my addons for that version, but a fresh install / manual re-add fixed most of them). I have been successfully using Closy for (at least) v22 thru v28, and it seems to be working fine on v29.0 as well (fresh install). I am a very heavy user of tabs, and I use this all the time. Highly recommended.

Foobar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Looks like the issue with the too-large search icons has been fixed. I just switched over from OmniBar due to a input-related bug.

This one is working great (and sans the bug from OmniBar :) ) !

I'm also running v22 and all of my search icons -- including the larger ones like google and duckduckgo -- look fine and fit within the search bar (I have a few non-default ones as well)

Disclaimer: I do have 1 Stylish style installed ("Firefox 4: Bookmarks Toolbar above tabs, enhanced"), but I don't see anything in there for increasing the size of the address bar... just changing the order things are displayed in.

Omnibar

Good addon but bug needs to be fixed Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Good add-on overall but reporting a bug (sorry to report here instead of via email/site...but site didn't work for me and didn't see an email)...

Issue:
In some cases, the predictive text results are overwriting text being typed into the address/search bar.

To Recreate:
1) From a fresh install regular/portable FF v22: close the starting tabs, install most recent Omnibar, restart FF, and Ctrl+Shift+Del to clear history

2) You will be opening 3 tabs, get the URLs ready in notepad and paste the first 2:
Tab 1 - URL of this addon from addons.mozilla.org
Tab 2 - URL of Google homepage

3) In 3rd tab, begin typing "mozilla". On "m", you should see it replaced with the URL from Tab 1.

As you then type "oz", it will overwrite all but the first char of the URL and leave you with "hoz" instead of "moz".

Expected:
I would expect the URL of tab 1 to appear below where I'm typing, but not actually overwrite my input (in this case the "m" of "mozilla").

Edit:
To anyone else experiencing this issue, I have found that the foobar addon also gives combined search/address bar functionality without having this bug. I haven't tried any advanced searches but basic searches and google search operators such as "-" seem to work correctly.

YesScript

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

LOVE IT!! At my work, I get proxy authentication popups in an infinite loop (even after providing the correct info) whenever I visit superuser.com or stackexchange.com or programmers.stackexchange.com -- unless I manually disable Javascript. Each. And. Every. Time.... 5 stars for fixing one of my biggest FF annoyances! :)

And @Klone Ranger - I agree with Scree... 1-star is pretty harsh considering that it does an excellent job otherwise, and you *do* have an easy enough workaround. Still very good to know, so thanks for sharing :)

JS Deminifier

Great addon! I love it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Just found this a couple days ago, but I already LOVE this addon! Would you consider supporting CSS files as well?

I like how the current version shows up in the page source (and slide-in/out eye candy is pretty slick too). Swigger does make an interesting point though... as it would be very useful to have this work with Firebug or even just to be able to set some option to always display the Deminified version by default.

Cons: it also adds "Deminify" buttons to any in-page <script> blocks but 99.9% of the time these aren't as useful. Maybe we could have those only for <script> blocks with "src" which would open the Deminified version directly?

@trlkly.. I thought the meaning was pretty obvious. But I can see your point, if people haven't been exposed to minimized/minified JS then the meaning could be a little vague.

4 stars is just so there's motivation to make it better :)

Add-on Compatibility Reporter

Love it! But needs to be a built-in option... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on, but I think it needs to be built into Firefox as an option... there are too many people that don't know about it / are too lazy/etc to install it. Since it is addressing an issue with the browser/add-on conflicts, I would argue that it makes more sense as an out-of-the-box feature of the browser rather than an add-on that fixes other add-ons. Just my 2 cents.

Page Ruler

Works great on FF6 (with MACR) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works great under Firefox 6 (search for and install Mozilla's Add-on Compatibility Reporter to allow it to work) and looks very nice. I do have 2 complaints though: a) there is no way to see the dimensions when working with small areas such as 4px x 4px. Maybe the dimension could also be displayed on the "addon bar" or broken out into a separate movable box? b) as far as i can tell, you can't redraw/reuse the selector without clicking the icon a second time. Other than that, great job but I'm going to have to stick with MeasureIt until those 2 things are addressed.

XUL/Migemo

works great if you patch it Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is one of my all time favorite FF add-ons AND I **REALLY** WISH THAT MOZILLA WOULD OFFER A REGEXP SEARCH OPTION OUT OF THE BOX . Anyway, it works fine for me with FF 4.0.1 *IF* you have manually patched the maxVersion number for firefox (google "manually update firefox addon 7zip install.rdf maxVersion"). I'm only giving 4 stars b/c I had to patch it myself.

Filter Extensions

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I agree with strelnic; it would be great if this extension was implemented as a core FF feature. Anyway, great work! This has been VERY useful for me. Hoping you'll update/make a new version for FF 4 Add-on Manager because it's a real mess without this.

NetVideoHunter - YouTube Video Downloader

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

"1. Every time i click Download, the net video hunter window minimizes (i am using windows)"
-> I can confirm that this happens under Linux as well (Ubuntu 9.10 Live-cd).

"2. Pls provide 'Download All' option in the net video hunter window."
-> I would *LOVE* this feature. Although a checkbox system might be nice too.. "Download Selected" :)

And 1 other feature request -- for after first 2 are done :)
-> Ability to set an "auto-save folder" similar to in Snapper [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2703] or FEBE [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109].

Lightshot (screenshot tool)

Good work so far Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like the simplicity of the free-style capture and that I can choose to save as PNG or other via Add-ons > Options. I like the lack of clutter (much better than some add-ons! ...*cough*.. FireShot.. *cough*) and think it's great at what it does so far, but needs more if I'm going to actually use it as the default for all my capturing.

In particular, it would be nice if:
1. Right-click on status-bar icon also brought up the option menu (same as Add-ons > Options)
2. There was an option to capture full page (as opposed to screen). Currently, pages that scroll vertically and/or horizontally are difficult to capture with this add-on.
3. A setting in the options to use/specify an output directory rather than choose one after each screenshot.

Launchy

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Love this addon :) But if you ever decide to update I'd really like to see these features:

1) quick/easy access to launchy.xml
For example, under Options > Launchy.xml
you could have the following options:
->Create
->Open Folder
->Launch Launchy.xml in notepad

2) Allowing "custom" application type.

For example,
"custom": doesn't pass any arguments explicitly (requires user to pass arguments).
->myscript.vbs %current-url% -myparameters
->explorer %chromedir%
->notepad %chromedir%\launchy.xml

Right Links

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I LOVE this extension and use it every day. Think how many clicks you're saving when you're viewing search results (and you can switch modes with F2 if you really need the menu)

Session Manager

Great extension!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I use this all the time and it's great. I would like to request a few things though...

I would be great if you could merge the Load/Delete session windows. I would really like to be able to *see/explore* what's in my old sessions before i deleting them without having to switch back and forth between windows.

Also, if would be really cool if you added the ability to merge one or more sessions together (ie, combine session A and session B but remove duplicate tabs/windows to make a new session C).
