Theme Font & Size Changer is a fundamental part of my daily computing life. Like many reviewers, my eyesight is no longer the best, and this extension permits me to work smoothly and happily.
As for the problems with FX 57, I can only recommend switching to Firefox ESR, which will allow "old" extensions to work till next April or something like this. If you're looking for a longer-term solution, I'm afraid you'll have to switch to another browser.
Actually, I've been using PaleMoon as my main browser for about two months now. It's not perfect, but all the "old" firefox extensions work (and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future); transferring your Fx profile to it is relatively straightforward; and it's similar enough to Fx that you can get going with it almost immediately.
There's also a good forum whose members are always helpful if you encounter a problem.
I only use two buttons, but they're critical Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Here I'd like to repeat Caerus's comments, "The add-on itself I love. One of my 'must-haves'."
I only use "Page Fonts" and "Minimum Font Size", but I use them relatively frequently and they're life savers. The fact that this add-on is now broken (as of Fx 55) is a real bummer.
The author replied to Caerus that he's busy and apparently otherwise preoccupied. That's extremely bad news.
In any case, I wish the author all the best in his studies and his future in general. I only hope that some day he'll be willing and able to update this great add-on.
Actually, with the advent of web extensions, I think a lot is going to change with Firefox, and I mean for the worse.
In any case, the two buttons I've mentioned are very useful to me and more than justify the five stars as far as I'm concerned.
The problem is on my side Rated 5 out of 5 stars
At the suggestion of the dev, I tried it with a clean profile: everything worked fine.
I guess I'll have to do some testing to see which of my other extensions is causing the problem.
My thanks to the dev for the prompt reply.
Thank you, Baris. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
As others have reported, this add-on has been updated to 48.5 and now works again.
What some people apparently don't realize is that Firefox add-on developers also have families, jobs, and other things to do in their lives.
They provide these mini-masterpieces as a service and do it on their own time. Most of them are not related to Firefox (Mozilla) in any way shape or form - and certainly don't get paid by them for this work.
Yes, some people ask for a contribution, and I think in most cases they deserve one.
In any case, I think the people who complained about this wonderful add-on being broken for about 24 hours owe the developer an apology.
Speaking for myself, thanks Baris, and keep up the great work.
New version works fine :-) Rated 5 out of 5 stars
As of today (08 March 2016), there's an updated version (22.214.171.124-signed).
I've installed it in both the latest Beta (v. 45) and Nightly (v. 48). As far as I'm able to see, it works fine in both - and I have 40+ other extensions installed!
Thanks to the dev.
A fix for Nightly users Rated 5 out of 5 stars
If you apply the fix mentioned in a recent Forum posting, everything works fine in Nightly again.
Great extension / Fx Devs broke it Rated 5 out of 5 stars
The functionalities of this extension are well thought out and well programmed.
It's a million times more helpful than Fx's native download capabilities. The ability to automatically virus-scan files, open the download folder, etc. are very practical.
Unfortunately, with the code changes to Fx Nightly of 07Jan16, the extension (v. 126.96.36.199-signed) - along with several others - got broken.
For me, having this extension functioning is more important than keeping up with what the Fx devs are up to, so I've gone back to the Nightly of 06Jan16.
It would be great if the extension dev could find some time to get it functioning again.
Thanks very much in advance.
Thanks Rated 5 out of 5 stars
The update has things working fine again. Thanks very much. This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Follow-up on previous contact Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This extension got broken with some changes to Fx 42. Here's some new input: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2953451This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52-signed).
A Stroke of Genius Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It's a shame I can only give five stars; my tendency would be to include half the Milky Way!
Like other cat fans, I've been using the inimitable "Red Cats Green/Blue Flavor" theme for years.
Of course, the abomination that is Australis has made lots of things difficult for us customization freaks, and only the great work of the extension and theme devs has made it possible for me to continue my decade of work as a Fx beta tester.
With Aris's monumental "Classic Theme Restorer" and Red Fat Lazy Cat's theme update, we were ninety five percent there, but the cat throbber ...
After some forum comments, I discovered "Throbber Restored". As they say, the rest is history.
The entire story can be found here in my post of 27 Aug:
I'd like to recommend one little change in the instructions for using the addon in the section called "Details on Using Custom Images". It now says "From the options page in the Add-on Manager Tab, ...".
I'd change it to say something like the following:
In the Add-ons Manager, find the entry for Throbber Restored, and click the Options button. In the file pickers at the bottom of the page that opens, you can choose a "Custom Idle Image" (which should be a static image) and a "Custom Loading Image" (which can or should be an animated .gif file).
Again, my most sincere thanks to Noitidart. I expect you'll be hearing from other Red Cat theme fans, too.
5.7.0 fine with ESR 24.6.0 Nightly / Solved problem with Options Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This has been, is, and always will be my favorite Fx theme. My sincere thanks to the dev for what was certainly a Herculean task in getting it to work with the interface whose name we do not mention. :-0
Contrary to what the previous reviewer reported, v. 5.7.0 has not caused any problems whatsoever for me on the ESP 24.6.0esrpre Nightly (Yes, I know 24.6.0 has been released), which I've been using for about five months. It works without a hitch two of my Win 7x64 machines and on three older XP machines.
In fact the only problem I had was with v. 33 Nightly - with the hated Aus .... interface.
The problem was that "Tools-Options" opens in a tab rather than a pop-up window, and this part of the interface was broken.
I saw the nice vertical row of red cats along the left, but nothing could be clicked. The only way to use Options was to temporarily disable Red Cats.
Fortunately, one of the kind contributors to the Fx Forums told me to me to change the pref "browser.preferences.inContent" to false. This was the solution!
Now everything's fine.
A wonderful complement to Firefox / Fear concerning Australis Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I don't know how many years I've been using this wonderful theme, but I know it makes me happy every single day. My most profound thanks to the developer.
Today the update to v 5.6.3 came out, and as always, it works perfectly - up to Fx 27.
Now, though, there are problems on the horizon.
As I guess many users here know, the Mozilla devs have decided to perpetrate a crime against humanity called "Australis", which will turn the beauty of Firefox into a less-than-perfect Chrome clone. This means, basically, the complete
destruction of the familiar interface. And as far as I know, third-party themes will be, essentially, eliminated from the equation if they're not updated.
A glimmer of hope exists in the form of the add-on called "Classic Theme Restorer" https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
However, I have no idea if it will "restore things to normal" vis-a-vis third party themes.
Australis is now in Aurora, but I haven't had the courage to fool around with it.
I'm hoping that the future of Red Cats Green/Blue Flavors remains bright and thank the developer for this wonderful piece of work.

If the dev really has nothing to do, how about a setting to change the color of the "Downloads" and Clear" buttons?
Thanks for the great work!
Version 1.8.8 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
The Options window is now truly "professional", and all of the functions I've set for my personal configuration work as selected.
Thank you very much for a top-quality extension and a crucial addition to Firefox.
In my opinion, it's light years ahead of what the Moz devs have come up with in both concept and implementation.
1.8.1 looks great Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This extension now permits addressing the Options from the AOM. Fantastic!
Thank you for the amazing and effective amount of work you've done over the last couple of days.
V. 1.7.5 - even better Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This just keeps getting better and better!
I've just updated to the new version (on Win XP), and everything works as it says on my machine.
The only thing that's missing for me is that clearing the extension downloads doesn't clear the native Fx download panel, but I guess this might not be technically possible.
In closing, I have to confess that I'm not a "big-league" download person; those who are might need some additional functionality.
Fantastic progress! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I've now downloaded 1.6.19 and am using it with Holly (Fx 29) on both 32-bit WinXP and 64-bit Win 7. In both cases I'm using the Red Cats Green Flavor theme.
All in all I'm VERY happy with the extension so far. It basically does everything I want in a way I find aesthetically pleasing.
The options panel is good, though it could be a bit smaller.
Setting up the automatic antivirus scan is super, and it works with Norton Internet Security 2014 perfectly.
I have a big monitor (actually three), so the extra bar above Status-4-Evar doesn't bother me at all.
I have three suggestions, but I'm not sure if they're technically possible.
1. It would be great if canceling and clearing the downloads in the extension would also clear them from the Fx library panel, too.
2. An Option to "Open the 'Save to' directory automatically after the download is completed" would be much appreciated.
3. An Option to "Close Bar automatically after Download is completed" would also be very helpful.
Again, my sincere thanks for this EXTREMELY useful extension.
Arrow disappears in YouTube Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I'm having the same problem as the last reviewer. I'm using the latest FlashBlock with the latest Flash beta (12), and Firefox Holly - the Nightly without Australis. It occurs on both my Win 7 64-bit machine and my Win XP machine.
I don't play computer games, so I'm not very quick on the trigger. Having said this, I can hit the arrow to start the movie during the split-second it's visible almost every time.
It'd be nice to have this fixed, though.
I'm still having a couple small problems Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I'm using the latest version: 0.97.4c. The one-click changes are really good. Thank you.
I'd like to request that instead of "Screengrab!" in the toolbar, which I have set to "Text only" (no icons), you offer an icon (no text alternative) for the Status Bar.
Finally, there are still problems with Firefox 3.6. I've made a little webpage with a movie to show this in detail.http://edu-net.net/media/screengrab/index.htm
Thanks for your ongoing good work Oleksandr. Screengrab (fix version) is a very big help.
Best regards from Berlin,
P.S. My Firefox version is 3.6.29pre (Namoroka)
Still needs a bit of fixing Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I have the latest version (0.97.3c-2) installed on Firefox 3.6 in WinXP 32 bit and on the Firefox Nightly (v. 22.0a1 64-bit) on 64-bit Win 7.
On Firefox 3.6, it's not possible to save in .jpg format and in neither version is it possible to save a screen that includes Firefox internal windows, e.g. the addons, bookmarks, etc., which can be done easily with the normal "PrintScreen" command. The problem with PrintScreen is that it can't save the whole page.
In any case, this is still my favorite screenshot addon.
My thanks to the developer.
