Nice! I tried to write an extension to disable the Cmd+Q shortcut some time ago, but found out that it's not possible.
This is a good middle ground, although I wish there were a way to do this without the modal dialog.
Private browsing conflict Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This extension seems to conflict in some way with the private browsing mode (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496579). I have not looked into the details, but I suspect that it is because we clear the find bar when the private browsing mode is turned off. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8).
Very useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I find this extension very useful. It's far better than the default "Search Google for ...." context menu item, and it's very flexible because you can edit the search phrase before submitting it. The select search mechanism can also be disabled easily without a browser restart, making it easy to turn off when you don't want selecting text on pages to interfere with your search bar. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
