I love this add-on. I have some ideas for improvement, but they may not be possible. If the improvements are not technically possible, then it gets 5 stars already.
Complex layouts can require a lot of detailed edits, and it does not allow as much control as I want. It would be very nice if text or graphics within the blocks of space could be deleted or edited. The blocks of space on the original page often claim much more width than is needed after unnecessary elements are deleted, but the layout cannot be adjusted. In this regard, one can highlight the required parts and choose "Delete Except," yet the original page width remains and preserves too much margin, usually on the right side. I used it for a while without finding the Save As control; maybe that could be made into a button on the toolbar?
I find (after some research that should not have been required of me) that I have no use for this tool, but I'm giving it 5 stars based on the enthusiasm of people who can use it. bioFOX was featured on Firefox addons page today, but it was really hard to find out what it does; I had to go dig into developer's website to find out. Maybe "bioinformatics" is unambiguous to modern experimental biologists (I got my biology degree many years ago), but it did not convey much meaning to me.
I really like the upgrade from 2.x; it used to be so much trouble to manually look up the tracking websites and then too much trouble to try to find out who they really were and what they were doing. I have not noticed any Firefox performance problems. I came to check recent reviews only because I was paranoid that the gift of so many cool new features might have a hidden cost. Now, comparing Beef Taco and reading John Hobbs' comments there, I am reassured. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.02).
Firefox 126.96.36.199, on this computer, crashes every time I view a page in IE Tab. The https page does display and I get a popup asking if I want to view non-secure elements. Choosing \'Yes\' or \'No\' crashes equally fast, after creating (but not opening) another tab about:blank. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.20080310).
