This is a fantastic tool for saving web pages locally, including all embedded and linked files, and even linked pages within. There's a tragic flaw however... the default location it saves the files is cloaked as the app data folder which Windows7 does not allow you to access so you have to go find it in some even more obscure place. The program doesn't allow you to specify the location during the save procedure, you have to go change the default location in the addon options every time. Who on earth thought that was a good idea? Thankfully you can change the default location, but it's a hassle because it's buried in the addon options... so it begs the question, why not just offer the option to specify the save location right in the Save As dialog? Aside from that PITA, it's a great tool. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.5).
This is a great add-on. Super easy to open links in new windows and search for text. It's an essential tool.
The one I used to have for an older version of firefox had a couple of extra features that I'd like to see here... dragging up opened in a foreground tab, dragging down opened in a background tab. I miss that. I know you can hold shift key and drag for similar results here, but dragging up/down was easier.
Also there's a bug... whenever I drag a link from a google images search results page, it scrolls the google image search page to the top. It didn't used to do that. I think it needs a fix. (I'm using FF 12.0)
This is my standard theme, it has simple icons that are easy to distinguish, and an elegant classy look. I'd be happy to be able to choose different color schemes with the same graphics, but other than that I have no complaints. Nice job. When everybody else out there is trying to make the interface look like a space ship, it's nice to have some left for the rest of us who want it to look like what it is, a browser. :-)
Great add-on. However I miss the old feature which allowed you to control whether the new tab opened in front or in back depending on whether you drag the link up or down. I can't seem to find a way to set that in this version, or maybe it's not capable. If not please add it! :-)
NICE! Very handy. It would be nice if the options dialog reminded you of how to add the button to the toolbar. I racked my brain trying to find the button until I came back here and found the instructions. Adding that to the options dialog text somewhere would help the user who installs many add-ons at a time and doesn't remember all the nuances of the descriptions he read while choosing what to install. :-) Thanks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0).
Beware, it is extremely difficult to get rid of those three so-called pre-configured permatabs for ebay, BBC and some other spam page. I read the instructions and still couldn't figure out how to do it so I disabled the add-on.
Also, while the permatab concept is nice, there should be an easier way to close the tab when you really DO want it closed. There's nothing in the right click menu or elsewhere that I could intuitively find to accomplish that other than disabling the add-on. Nice idea, but too hard to use.
