Wish it worked Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I downloaded, installed, and nothing. Verified I have current FireFox, even rebooted, but can't get it to work. I highlight a word (misspelled or not), right click, select LANGUAGES -> ENGLISH (UNITED STATES) and... nothing. Was looking for a REAL dictionary (not just spell check). Used to have one that opened up a definition page, but don't know what happened to it. Disappeared after an update. Was hoping this would do something like that, but since it won't work at all, I have no idea if its what I wanted or not.

Basic words like "relatable" are obviously in there. So many reviewers here seem to be completely clueless. Try to make sure you're actually using the dictionary you're reviewing before leaving angry 1-star "reviews"! You have to select it, you know.
Missing many basic words Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I shouldn't have to add words like "relatable" to the standard dictionary.

Confused Rated 1 out of 5 stars
My Firefox has the latest updates but spell check doesn't work. It use to work when I edited my websites. I don't see any drop down box when I right click to show languages. It shows in my website editor when a word is misspelled. It keeps saying to Add Dictionary which is already an add on.

I have followed all directions offered and I believe my "Dictionary" for spell checking has been added-on but I still can't find it! It is not in a first drop down menu; which it SHOULD be, and if I had a say in this I would put it tn the first drop down menu for Tools. A mispelled - I did that on purpose - is underlined red in Firefox with NO easy way to fix it. PLEASE make this feature better and easier to use in Mozilla/Firefox.
No "Languages" in drop down menu. Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Clicked right, the drop down menu doesn't have anything called "Languages" so I can't get to "English".
I even tried to activate it by restarting FireFox, no go.

Excellent! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Very useful. I like that the new version 8.1 uses the "large" SCOWL dataset (look for the Wordlist project on SourceForge for details) including common variants (like "advisor" instead of "adviser") and accented words (like "Bogotá" or "cliché"). It's restartless and therefore easy to use.
wicked! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
How do I get it to auto fix contractions so that "its" auto corrects into "it's"?This review is for a previous version of the add-on (8.0).
Add Works Great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Great help whilst writing English American.
English isn't my native writing, however this tool makes hardly anyone notices.
For me: highly recommended!

For those who could not get this to work; it is used when you write a comment or a review, within a web page. Then you right click and you will see the menu options. there is no icon. You use when you are the typist; not what you are reading. It works as directed. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.0.1).
Nice tool, also works fine with SeaMonkey 2.35 Rated 4 out of 5 stars
For me works fine with DE SeaMonkey 2.35(γ) (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0 nightly by Adrian Kalla) Gecko/20100101 Build 20150615204754 (Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit.
May be it should be shown as "available for SM 2.35"?

United States English no Firefox 36.0.4 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.0.1).

This is a great add-on! Allows you to check your spelling on sites that don't have their own checker. I simply hit the install button and the thing started working immediately. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.0.1).
Perfect Fix! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I Run LinuxMint 14.04 with Cinnamon twist and couldn't figure out for the life of me why spell check wasn't working. I'm dyslexic so spell check is very useful for me. Glad I found it. I tested it and it works perfectly. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.0.1).
Works, and well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
WORKS, and and that includes the British version as well.
You can't use the [download-button] to add the dictionary file to your programme. Or in my case, a new clean thunderbird (ver 31) install.
Give the developers a break, it does all work, but sometimes you have to work at it to get it right. If the button doesn't work, then right click it and download the file->link to a directory.
Go to the add-ons manager, and select install from file (do it from where you saved that *.xpi file)
Accept all warnings. Restart the programme, and - volar' - you now have your spell-checker installed.
Very useful, and free, and just brilliant.
