Good replacement for Lazarus Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I switched to this after Lazarus became incompatible with FF's most recent version (in FF 53, I think).
I found Lazarus a bit more fluid (UI-wise), but this does the trick just fine. Thanks!
I'll consider switching to the WebExtension as FF 57 gets closer.
Tempermental and unreliable Rated 1 out of 5 stars
You take your chances with Textarea Cache. It doesn't always appear when you start Freezefox and it is nowhere to be found. Even when you do manage to find it, it will be empty despite your settings.
Saved my life! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This add-on saved my live on numerous occasions when gmail and online forums decide to close the editing window without any notice.
Going retrograde Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I'm thinking it is worth sh*tcanning FF 53 even before they get to the horror of 57 and installing older versions of FF instead. It never really seems to get better, only crashes more and breaks add-ons. Too many quick releases. Still takes longest to load (even from an SSD), takes up MUCH too much memory, & keeps becoming incompatible with my favorite add-ons. It's been a long marriage since the old days, but it looks like it's ending now. After I discovered today that Lazarus is now dead, TAC has become my new lifeline (though I would like form/field retention along with textbox retention). Forward into the past! This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Great that this Add-On is now working again! It had been broken about one year ago. So I changed to Lazarus. But now I'm back again. Textarea Cache is much better...
Great addon Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Would it be possible to save input boxes as well, you know, the one-line form fields? After Lazarus died, being unable to restore full forms have annoyed me a lot.
The most reliable plugin of its kind Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Having tried multiple addons designed to do the same job, this one is the one I can recommend due to its reliability.
Unlike its competitors, it will save the contents of all text areas, including those that are created after page load.
It will also maintain multiple elements in the cache for the same text area so that your previous data will not get unexpectedly overwritten.
Furthermore, it allows you to easily recover data even if the lost text area is not on the current page, since the user interface is fundamentally just a list of all the elements in the cache.
I recommend that everyone install this addon. Hopefully you will not need it often, but when you do, you will thank yourself for it.

We have a big problem: when you type in the same address link it replaces and does not hold both or more
Extremely helpful Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I rarely need it, but when I do I'm happy the addon is there. It's a pain to loose what you wrote so it's always a relief that you can rely on the addon to save what you wrote. Really useful addon. It should be a default feature in Firefox.
Works again :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Simple. Never lose what you're writing.
This is one of the more useful addons, when you need it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Many times -- due to website messup, or crashes, or whatever, I've lost all input into a text box -- sometimes small, but sometimes 20-30 minutes of composition. This extension has allowed me to recover everything -- everytime I've had a problem, since I installed it. It is a great recovery tool! Just install it -- and forget about it --- until you need it.
Saved my butt Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Saved me on numerous occasions when a poorly-behaved page auto-reloads, or FF crashes.
Working great on FF48 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I consider this one of my must have add-ons. Being able to recover the text I'm editing has saved me a lot of time manually saving off copies and/or from loosing what I typed. Easily recovers from Firefox crashing, window closing, tabs closing, window deciding to navigate away from input page, user error in navigating away, etc. Very useful.

PERFECT Rated 5 out of 5 stars
WORKS PERFECT BUT I'M STILL USING FIREFOX 39
My opinion the reason Mozilla upgrades/new versions constantly is not so much for safety, it's for the new ads they sold to new customers and the old ads no longer want to pay. So they take out the old customers and add in the new customers because the older customers are in the last version. For years I used the same firefox without updating it never had a virus problem. Next year I'll still be using Firefox-39
