Why was Ryebox Bookmarks created?
I work on several computers throughout the day, so managing my bookmarks online makes a lot of sense. Free sites out there pretty much suck (e.g. try re-organizing or sharing your bookmarks with Google Bookmarks). When my friend Rick Anderson mentioned he had created a bookmark site for his own use, and was considering making it available to the public, I jumped at a chance to write a Firefox extension so those bookmarks could be accessed from a menu in Firefox. Thus this extension was born.
Currently Ryebox.com is in private beta, so it's tough to get an account. As it matures I'm sure he'll make it available to more people.
What's next for Ryebox Bookmarks
Squash any bugs that are found (this is always the first priority!). Planned features include:
- A user-controlled preference to allow opening bookmarks in new tabs.
