This add-on does actually do a pretty decent job of eliminating about 10-20% memory consumption used by caching. I think some of the problems people are reporting is not being able to use it. You have to manually add the ramback button to one of your toolbars through Options > Toolbar Layout, or access it through Tools > Clear Cache if you have the Menu Toolbar visible.

RAM Löschen Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Im Menü Extras gibt es einen Button "Clear Caches" leider ohne Wirkung beim FF 24.2.0

What? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

how does it work? Is there a button to press somewhere? Where? Is it automatic? How often?

This is a waste of time.

This Add-On does absolute NOTHING expect of using space because it is installed!

I was having problems running Firefox 26 on Ubuntu 13.10 - and this extension worked like magic and created a huge improvement in performance!

Efficace? Je n'ai pas remarqué... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Je m'attendais à plus d'efficacité.

Toujours les mêmes problèmes de RAM....

Disappointed Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Didn't do anything at all to reduce my RAM as it stated it would. I actually got better performance when I disabled it. I suspect it was developed based on a specific system configuration and only works properly when you have a similar configuration.

Great, reduced RAM usage by about 30%

Same experience: reduces CPU usage, does not reduce memory footprint.

Does nothing Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This does nothing to free up any resources. I don't get it. What's the point? Am I do something wrong here?

Does nothing. My 820 Mb FF process with one tab open reduced to 800 Mb after 5 minutes, but then back to 830 after uninstalling this extension. Restarting got me back to 250 Mb.

Ramback 1.0 doesn't seem to have a noticeble difference Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I have to keep clicking on Tools/Clear Caches when my own hard drive finally light stops. The hard drive light flashes some more then i have to keep doing this, which doesn't seem to have a noticeble difference. What I find more effective is closing down Firefox and starting again. Try not to have too many memory/processor hungry tabs running like Yahoo Mail and Planefinder.net.

I have been using it on FF18 and 17, 16 i think
Window XP SP3
half gig RAM
Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz

Add-ons page says last updated 20 December 2012 but its the same version 1.0 I've been using for the past few months, why?

Works as advertised Rated 4 out of 5 stars

However, it could benefit of some improvement. One would be to provide an indication of memory usage (even in the tip as Memory Restart extension does). Second, if it really works only by clearing caches, it could also do Cycle/Garbage collection the samw way as it is done by the buttons on the about:memory page. Since the code for it is in that page, it should be trivial to implement (if it isn't implemented already).

Does absolutely nothing for FF 16 on Opensuse 12.2. Too bad, I could really use it. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Absolute, solid, effective

Don't listen to the others, the reason they wrote bad is because when they wrote it, the add-on was in alpha or beta stages.

I recently acquired it at its FULL version, and I'll tell you, this program eliminated ALL leakage for me!

Just install it, and PERIOD, it works like a charm.

FF 16.0

PS ..

I always extract .xpi = Goto: folder and Change Install.rdf \max version =
to your FF version and save..
Then select all in folder \Send to zip\ copy name and change .zip extension back to .xpi file type.
Drag and drop to blank tab and let firefox do the rest...

Does nothing Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This product did nothing. There is a "clear Caches" in the tools menu but it does nothing, no change occurs. There is still large memory problems with firefox and this does not fix anything.

UI Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Is there a user interface for this extension, or does it keep memory freed up automatically?
