Meet the Old Lion Fullscreen Developer

Why was Old Lion Fullscreen created?

I was really annoyed by Firefox switching to a MacOS X Lion's native Fullscreen capability. While I mostly run apps in fullscreen, I also heavily utilize Spaces by using keyboard shortcuts for quick switching between them. MacOS X developers lately do everything possible to eliminate this working pattern, which in turn disappoints me greatly.

In order to fix this problem for Firefox in particular, I've created this very simplistic, but useful extension.

What's next for Old Lion Fullscreen

I noticed that as of version 16, Firefox developers moved tabs further from the top of the screen when Fullscreen mode is enabled (both old and MacOS X native). This is a very bad user experience pattern, as instead of sending the cursor to the top of the screen, I now need to position it precisely on the tab. Thus, I plan to fix this issue as well.

Also, I want to avoid restarting the browser after enabling/disabling this extension. I'm planning to port it to the new extensions framework which allows to utilize JavaScript instead of XML-based XUL overrides.
