Great addon, works great (FF 35), goes perfectly with "Grab and Drag" addon.

I love this app and how it works..... BUTT... I had to disable it as it causes constant crashes on Firefox with Windows7. I confirmed this by disabling, enabling, and then again disabling the plug-in. Wish this wasn't the case, but I can not continue to use it as it crashes the FireFox browser with a high level of consistency.

Excellent add-on, but one somewhat major issue. When switching the add-on to use the left mouse button, the option to restore the image to the original size is still hooked to the right mouse button. Unfortunately, this means it doesn't allow me to restore to the original size when I'm using Scrollbar Anywhere with the right mouse button. Hopefully this can be fixed.

Great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Definitely the new king of convenient image resizing, especially since the "ImageTweak" extension seems to not work properly anymore.

Excepcional utilidad para el día a día. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fantastic. Especially for people who like to see the details.

Great, with exceptions Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great idea and a well-written plugin. I was disappointed, though, to find that it didn't seem to work with pop-up images within pages (for example, the table photos at pinsimdb.org).

To developer (below): Thanks for your reply. I've changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars, as obviously you can't anticipate every coding instance. Keep up the great work.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3).

That's a shame. I have looked at the website and notice that the Previous and Next button outer box is overlaying the whole image, meaning that any input given will be registered to the box rather than the image, thus the add-on never knows something happened. For as far as I know there's nothing I can do to fix this other than hoping the web designer of that site implement their popup code the correct way. I will consider this as an issue although I have no fix for this.

Edit: Thanks for the rating :)

Good thing I can use Ctrl+Left Click to drag the picture out

Glad I implemented that feature for such occasions ;)

Utterly brilliant. Finally a worthy alternative to the old and buggy "Image Zoom" extension.

This one works ultrafast, ultrasmooth and seemingly conflict free.

Thank you so much!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3).

Thank you that you prefer this above Image Zoom :)

Although 3 out of 5 makes me think you had issues with it?

Very nice Rated 5 out of 5 stars

OK. I made small investigation and found that this addon stand alone indeed does what is described, but addon "Scrollbar Anywhere" hinders. Anyway, thank you

good, but needs some polishing:
-- after you resize an image, the cursor changes to Hand, regardless if the image was a link or just plain image. This is confusing...
-- why not use Shift to toggle the Free X-Y scaling on and off?
-- would be nice to have a command (e.g. Alt+RMB) for scaling an image directly to the size of the window (like 'fullscreen' in one shot)
And THANK YOU for No-Restart !

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.rev653).

1. This was an experimental idea hence 1.3 being a separate link.
2. I cannot hide the context-menu that popups when you right click an image if the user is holding Shift, so I decided to go with ALT instead.
3. Ctrl+MiddleMouseButton, though that's a glitchy hidden feature!

No problem :)

I have uploaded v1.3 to Mozilla which adds the ALT feature.

Eliot,
I found out why the context menu appears for me. The thing is that I don't have checkbox "Disable context menu" checked at "Menu-Options-Content-Enable JavaScript-Advanced".
I hate when some sites disable context menu via javascript, but I want your extension to not cause opening context menu for me. Is it a fixable issue?

Dear Eliot,

Thank you for your extraordinarily prompt response to my comments - your new version 1.3 fulfills every request, and it works perfectly.
Now FireGestures and the right-click context menu and co-operate.
The new options work fine: they're great for those who know what they're doing; yet easy to use and self-explanatory for beginners.
I'd give it six stars, but five's the maximum!
Thanks again.

Thanks again for this incredibly useful add-on. I'm loving the new options you added to 1.3.

I have a suggestion, if possible. Can you add a quick re-size option?

For instance, add a customizable setting in options, whereby a user can add a specific size they prefer their pictures to re size to. Then, by clicking on a picture, it automatically re-sizes to that setting, and double-clicking the picture it reverts back to the original size.

Again, thanks for your hard work and updates.

Image Resizer/Scaler works great, and yet it's so simple it has no Options. I'm not sure why the previous version (1.1.rev361) listed a different user as the author, but I'm glad it's being maintained. I'd like to see a way to make an image "break out" and not get clipped to its container so that you can only see its upper left corner. There should be a way to show the image outside of and above the other page elements in order to see the whole thing. (Also BTW it would be nice if there were an extension that could resize *all* the images on a page simultaneously.)

{Edit after developer's July 31st response below: By resizing all the imgs on page I mean without resizing the text or structure or other elements of the page. One can resize everything-but-the-text although it's a little awkward to do (see my review addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/reviews/368821 of NoSquint) and this resizes the structure containing the content, as well as the images. I sometimes want to shrink just the images on a page so I can see more text per screen, but shrinking the structure often defeats this purpose by squeezing the text into a smaller area. Or I might want to enlarge all the images to make them more readable (not having to do one at a time) but without enlarging the structure which would push some of the content off the page and require more scrolling.
}

Thanks!

Image Resizer does try to make the images above any elements but unfortunately every site does have different z-indexes so it's quite complicated to get this to work everywhere perfectly. V1.2 has definitely improved on trying to get things overlay other containers such as on Imgur.

However if the web designers have put overflow:hidden; on an container then Image Resizer can't do anything about, one way to bypass that would be I guess by copying the image and making it fixed or absolute but I believe this might cause other issues and not solving anything in the end.

Do you mean something like CTRL+PLUS or CTRL+MMB(Middle Mouse Button)?

Brilliant! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love this add-on for resizing photos on web pages I want to print. Simple & sweet - works perfectly!!

Thank you. Didn't think this would come of use when printing, that's cool.

Nice tool but... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very nice and useful but you must provide an option for temporary disable (with CTRL) the zoom feature.
In fact on devianART is impossible with your ad-don drag and drop an image for send it in the favorites folder.
Thanks.

Since version 1.2 has swapped LMB with RMB, I believe this issue should be gone. I couldn't reproduce your issue with v1.1
