good, could use some more features Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like the idea... and the fact that it's not overly complicated.

Would you please consider adding the option to "Refresh" the tab when double-clicked?

thanks,

Calvin

4 stars because
"double-click Bookmark/History to open in new tab"
works only on Bookmark/History SIDEBAR.

It would be great to make it work with the bookmark/history toolbar and menus.

If this is not possible, then you should update the description!

Congratz! Great addon, especially for laptops and netbooks!

Try new v1.5

Wasn't easy but (hopefully) found a way to make it work...

I noticed that double clicking on the bookmark toolbar doesn't open sites on a new tab. Otherwise, it's perfect, I hate middle-clicking, because it's hard to do on my Microsoft mouse.

Good job Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent add-on. It is sometimes quite necessary to duplicate the tab. Especially if you are navigating in a tree like webpages and you would like to leave some pages without disturbing the history.
Maybe I am doing something wrong but "options" appeared to be grayed out and I do not have an access. That would be a good option if new tab would open next to the source.

Options only from 1.4.1

To avoid conflicts, tab handling is kept very simple. There is an option to disable 'tab double-click action' (again 1.4.1) for using with other tab handling extensions (like Tab Mix Plus).

Verion 1.4.1 is so perfect! Wow! All those nifty features and without any extra menus anyware... just an option inside the extension itself. Small, neat and perfect. Well done sirs! Thanks!

It is no use to have a new copy of the tab when double clicking an old one, for sure. It is more usefull to close a tab when double clicking on it! This is importtant - please implement it! Or at least make a menu option where we can toggle a function, i.e. closing/copy current tab when double clicked. Why is it essential? Because double clicking reproduce the same thing as clicking the mouse wheel. But, when you click the mouse wheel on a tab it closes the tab. Om my portable I don´t have a mouse available. Therefore I love the way this extension works by opening a new tab when double clicking a ling, but I miss the possibility to close a tab by double clicking it. I'm sure there are lots of people out there who would want this function since it would then be totally complete without a mouse for us who use a laptop without a mouse while we travel. Me and many others are looking forward to a new version were this function is implemented.

To be continued…

Thanks CArrL for the detailed feedback. I understand your view although for me the double-click is more an Open action, like in other apps. Most important concept for this extension is keeping it light without too many configurations, while making it as useful as possible for everybody. Another consideration is avoiding conflicts with other extensions that handle tab clicking behavior…
It would be very helpful to move this discussion to the support site and find a solution that will also address issues raised by other users…

Excellent add-on. Please keep intact the ability to open a new tab by double clicking on the tab bar. It also wouldn't hurt to be able to open bookmark toolbar links with a double click as well.

Original intent

Back to original behavior in 1.4...
thanks

Really nice addon. I also think that it would be nice to turn on/off the functions.

Very good, but please add a function where a double-click on a tabb closes it. That would make it perfect. As it is now, it's no good to copy a tabb by double clicking. Double click should close the tabb. It's much more need for such a feature. Please implement this!

Back to the 5 stars! The bug has been fixed (it was linked to the Brief add-on). It works fine now and I can say this new add-on is really helpful for the daily use of internet.

I would love if double click on a page, where there aren't texts - pics, to go back. Really appreciate.

Bug found Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Bug found. When clicking once on hyperlinks that open automatically in new tabs by default, the tabs are opened twice. Oops... is it possible to fix this?

More details needed

This is something that was tested and seems to work fine (Google results with ‘Search settings’ to open in new tab for Example). Please post the details on the support site so I can look into it…
also a nice side-effect is that double-clicking link that should open new tab will open in the background. (if this is the normal behavior in FF)
