Just think how much memory this is taking up for them. Odds are, if you have a really good reason to use this add-on, it is because of a long page that you don't even want to scroll through. Their server will not be able to take it, unless they find a way to
A) remove everything else on the page OR
B) link you to a blank page with just the nice looking quote and provide a link to where it originated from with a brief mention of where it can be found on that page.

Bought out a la Microsoft strategy. Pay the competition to go away.

Pure crap. The clipping addon doesn't work and it seems like the site itself is dead? No wonder, though! It's nothing but spam, spam and more spam, with just a drizzle of North American right wing extremist clips added, just to ensure that the site is totally useless!.

I would give this addon zero stars if I could. One star seems far too generous.

Great interface! But 1000 chars only? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I've tested several web clipping services, and Clipmark was rocking above all of them. The UI is just the best. Unfortunately, only 1000 chars, is simply to less for me. And I think, that this limitation is not on-time, as ie. several pastebin services provide you with unlimited amount of text storage. For now, I'll use another service.

This will make it work.. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Install this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/?src=collection&collection_id=4b31420e-fedd-49e8-ae66-6df226d20120

And then the clipmarks one.
But would also like to see it updated, I certainly prefer this one above the amplify version! If it's updated it will receive a 5 star rating :P

Extend support for Clipmarks; not Amplify Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I've tried Amplify, and that service is definitely second best by far compared to the original Clipmarks network. Please extend compatibility for the Clipmarks Addon through Firefox 5 and beyond!

This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Seriously disappointed Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Too bad the creators haven't bothered to update this useful add on to work with FF5.

Please take a Spanish-language website of this great extension. For example. Perhaps you might notice that my Facebook profile to summarize information I work on my wall mostly (I've even created a blog ... http://cristpez.wordpress.com/2011/05/18/propuesta/). It would be much more efficient to do it from this page. If you do not get a version of the website in Spanish, at least be able to separate the clips by language. At least to, reviewing for my language easily (both clipmarks to amplify).

try ncoge Rated 3 out of 5 stars

ncoge could do somethig like this and its work on ff 5.* too.

Workaround for emailing Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great plugin. Quite disappointed there is no version for Firefox 4.x. Currently looking for a similar way to do what Clipmarks does. Their "Amplify" service doesn't provide an email option.

After playing with their Amplify extension, it turns out one can use it to send email via Clipmarks. Strange Clipmarks doesn't mention this.

How it works:

1) Setup your (new) Amplify account to send clippings to Clipmarks.
2) Use the Amplify extension to clip from a website.
3) After the clip is posted to Amplify, the Clipmarks window pops up allowing one to post the clip to Clipmarks.
4) After posting to Clipmarks, you have the usual option to send it by email.

It isn't compatible with Firefox 4

Please, read the License Agreement Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Are you kidding me?

"In creating Clips, Tags, Titles or Commentary, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, transferable right to use, reproduce, distribute, transmit, disseminate, display, publish, modify, perform and create derivative works thereof (in whole or in part) worldwide and to incorporate them into other works in any form, media or technology now known or later developed."
Extracted from the License Agreement, it's just insulting what it says.

Decent app (alas, caveat) Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This service has been around for some time... and it's still here, still the same. Which is good. Because it means it's more likely to survive as a great (often handy) means of clipping, sharing, storing (in the cloud) important bits out of a full webpage. Another handy use for it is one can build up a collection of users to follow and generate a nifty RSS feed of clips.

Update: I didn't understand the review below, so translated it via Google Translate:
"No possibility to save the clip to disk, only on the publisher's site, contrary to what the video shows seen on youtube site http://clipmarks.com/installed/firefox
The license for this add-on is also worth seeing, it should not even be legal in France. Other users have requested that the local backup is "restored" a year ago, without success. If the wishes of the users are despised so, what about respect for private life??
In other words to avoid.
Immediately removed once installed ... extending the fastest on my FF."

Raises a point worth serious consideration, I must say.

Privacy Fail Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Clipmarks Not Working Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Clipmarks was great when it worked. Please get it back and running again. I rely on it for my business/blog updates and I miss it!
