No backup settings feature Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The addon works fine, but it´s not possible to backup your settings easily, if you want to create several profiles, get a new computer, etc.

It also hasn´t been updated in a long time, and there are reports of memory leaks.

For all those reasons, I´d recommend FIREGESTURES instead.

Brilliant Extension. Just one problem... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this extension. It makes browsing so much easier. I often recommend it to people.

However, with the highly-customised gesture scheme I'm using, "Duplicate Tab" is not working. In the Gesture Table (see below), the gesture shows a prefix of forward-slash. I didn't add this, and have tried numerous times to redefine the gesture to remove this, with no success.

I also cannot see a way to enable/disable each gesture without clearing them - is there a way to do this?

I'd appreciate any advice. In the meantime, many thanks for all the hard work that went into this!

A favorite until most recent update Rated 4 out of 5 stars

For ages, I had "D" bound to closing the current tab. This no longer works. "U" doesn't, nor does any single direction.

Binding DUD works. Binding RD works. Binding LD works.

Binding D to close tab does not work.

Binding D to anything else DOES work.

It's very aggravating.

just one little gotcha Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It's a great extension, but, after tweaking options, one naturally tries it out, ON THE EXTENSIONS PAGE [that one is on].
IT DOES NOT WORK ON THAT PAGE. So one might well dash off a negative review. I did, but then thought to check some other pages, where it worked fine.
So just remember- do not try to test it on your extensions/add-on's page. :)

Would be perfect if not for a fatal flaw Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is an excellent extension that makes surfing incredibly convenient.

Unfortunately, it also has an infuriating flaw that makes surfing convenience a net loss: when closing tabs, it causes Firefox to randomly switch tab groups. It does this *constantly*. I've been using this extension for years and there's still no fix in sight.

This flaw is so obnoxious that it earns a mediocre 3 stars from me where it would otherwise be a solid 5.

since the las Firefox update, if used with right-click the context menu stays on-screen. Add-on doesn't appear to be supported anymore (last update May 2013).
Use firegestures instead.

Developer is dead? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I'm sorry to say, but I think the developer of this extension is either dead or no longer cares to support this extension. We haven't seen an update in over 5 months and he does not reply to emails or reply to reviews anymore.
I've never had so much trouble in getting a developer to respond.. so either worst developer or has died.

Problem when using Left or Right button as trigger button Rated 2 out of 5 stars

If I use Right mouse button as trigger button, context menu popup sometimes (not always) when a gesture is complete.
If I use Left mouse button as trigger button, some Flash objects cannot be clicked by left mouse button. e.g. Candy Crush Saga in facebook is not working with left mouse button while Angry Birds Friends in facebook does.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Well, I'm a fanatic when it comes to optimizing software for keyboard (from desktops to database managing even) and I really have to say that when my hand is on a controller I'd rather not switch it to another controller.
*That's* where the point is. I might love my keyboard, but if my had is on mouse I will curse if I have to switch to KB just to zoom, go back/forward in history, etc.

That means a big flaming 5 stars for the absolutely best gesture extension. THANKS!

Serves Me Well Rated 5 out of 5 stars

There are understandable disappointments re: this add-on, but very few legitimate flaws. It deserves no less than four stars in my opinion and here's why:
It has never broken anything for me. Not once has it completely failed to work. Times I thought it had were because of another addon entirely.
95% of its functionality is perfect. I can think of one gesture that doesn't do what it should (last tab, which only malfunctions when using tab groups), but that's it. Not a deal-breaker.
You will notice that on a small percentage of sites, certain frames will not allow this addon to function. You may need to perform gestures from another frame or use a standard method of achieving the result you want for that particular page. This happens infrequently.
It's very customizable. It shows your gesture by drawing a line, which can be widened/narrowed and the color can be changed, or you can have no line at all. (Just an example.)
People, don't rate an addon one star because it doesn't have the one thing you want. You should rate it based on what it is, not what you want it to be. If it claimed to have the thing and then didn't, that would be different. And it's not like there's some universally acknowledged standard for Firefox gesture addons from which you're pulling your criteria.
This is a functional, useful, stable addon that I make use of both at home and at work.

Where are the diagonals ? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It's cool, but no diagonal gestures. It was damn less possibility.

Please fix memory leak! Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Great add-on, but I had to remove it due to the memory leak — also noticed by another reviewer. Now Firefox is using 2Gb less memory! (Yes, really).
