This addon comes very handy most of the time; though, it would be nice to have an option to blacklist certain sites where you want to disable it, such as the addons.mozilla.org page, for example!

Works as it claims, even in ff v.21

Great add-on Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It works just fine. What would be even better is if it had an option to exclude certain websites from opening in desktop mode.

Does what it says, perfect!

Samsung Note 10.1 JB success Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works for me. I followed instructions from FraBu and used Astro File Manager to switch file from my PC to tablet then Firefox to install. I use it for newspaper reading to have a display rather than a list. But why no proper installer?

not to install Rated 4 out of 5 stars

No Downloadbutton and yes, Desktopview was NOT enabled befor or even try to download.

OK, now it works ;-)

For all: go to your Desktop-PC and search on google for "desktop by default". Use the addon.mozilla.... page. There is a grey button "download for android". Use the RIGHT mousebutton for kontext-menu and get "save target as..."
Transfer the downloaded xpi-File to your Android-device by usb-cable, lan ect. to any folder, i.e. downloads
Open the xpi-file on your android as a Text-File and get Firefox as Handler to open it. Install the AddOn - thats it.

nexus 7, no install button, it's just description of program and no way to install, ff is stuck.

Missing download/install button (Firefox 18.0.2 CZ, Acer Iconia Tab) !

What do you see? "Not available for your platform"?If so, do you have Phony installed, or have you changed your UA in about:config? Changing your UA will make addons.mozilla.org (and all other websites) think you're using a different device.

If this is your problem, you should be able to click the greyed out "Download for Android" button, and then the "Download for Android anyway" link that appears.

Also make sure Request Desktop Site is *not* enabled before going to the add-on download page.

My mistake! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Sorry I can't delete my earlier review. Download button appeared when viewed in mobile mode. Extension works fine. Needs an option to disable for individual sites eg BBC iPlayer will not run on a tablet unless in mobile mode. .

This is how Firefox should work on tablets. Highly recommended. Next step would be a way to set certain sites to be mobile, but this is still a big improvement.

working perfectly Rated 5 out of 5 stars

but, forces 'desktop mode' ('PC mode'at Japanese version), so add on may not install in it.

Feature request. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If this makes desktop default could you make a request mobile site option instead of desktop in the settings?

You should still be able to use the same menu item to switch between desktop and mobile pages. With this extension installed, desktop mode will be on by default, so it will be checked in the menu. You can still see the mobile version of the page by unchecking "Request Desktop Site".
