I had the same problem of control codes being displayed and messing up the presentation. Finally I've found "Google Translator for Firefox 1.0.3 " which works perfectly .

Amazing extension. I've never seen a more straightforward and convenient way to copy and paste a table without the html stuff. Works great once you have understood the logic. Congrats. -bu
