My Reviews

Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It sort of works. But like most other video downloads, it appears to provide 1080p downloads, while it just doesn't bloody work. Some downloaders redirect to some BS message saying it's not possible (which is BS, because it *is* technically achievable), but this one does something else. This downloader, when selecting 1080p, pings videodroid.org and then absolutely bloody nothing else happens.

If you can't make downloading 1080p happen, DO NOT PROVIDE IT AS AN OPTION.

Google Analytics Logger

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Doesn't work. It just doesn't log a single event. Not much more I can say about it.

Google Analytics Debugger

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Doesn't work with Firefox 58. Please make it compatible?

Group Speed Dial

Auto-reload thumbnails Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Would be nice if thumbnails would be refreshed every X days or X hours.

Video Downloader Prime

Youtube please Rated 1 out of 5 stars

An addon is NOT subject to their restrictions. The user is.

Video Downloader professional

Doesn't work with Youtube Rated 1 out of 5 stars

When I click on one of the green download buttons, nothing happens. For some videos. For others, it works fine.

Why absolutely nothing?? At least sho what's the matter. Maybe it's fixable from the user's end. A silent fail, where ab-so-lu-tely nothing happens, is just bonkers.

The Pirate Bay Plus

Still opens some bullshit Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Clicking a link to, say, a screenshot on an external site, may still open an ad-link to some bullshit. The link looks like this:
"javascript:window.opener=null;setTimeout(function(){window.location.href='//overely.com/[lots of base64-like]'},250)"

This will open instead of the actual link clicked. Happens once every few clicks, so not nearly always.

4 stars for the other improvements. Would like to be able to disable full-width.

/edit:
Force single-line listings isn't working (using piratebayblocked.com - not sure if this matters)

Group Speed Dial

Almost there Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I want to be able to use a 3x3 grid of dials (I mean, what phone has 4 columns of dial buttons??). I would also like the dials to retain their aspect ratio.

And most importantly, I would like each speed dial button to be hooked up to Ctrl+number hotkey. So I can open that page with a single hotkey from anywhere.

Speed Dial (Lite)

Doesn't work Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It neither shows in a new window, nor in a new tab. A new window shows the "firefox start page" and a new tab shows up completely blank.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.3).

Gesturefy

Not there yet Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Doesn't work in a new tab. Doesn't work in addons. Doesn't work in preferences. Doesn't work on addons.mozilla.org. Doesn't open my speed dial for the "new tab" action.

Rocker gesture oftenly doesn't work. Sometimes when it does, it still displays the context menu.

Please pour resources into making it work right. The way it looks now, seems like it has gotten way too much attention. Firefox users with addons (especially gestures!) are not total morons, i.e. it's totally fine if it looks crap as long as it works right.

Foxy Gestures

Doesn't work everywhere Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Doesn't work in a new tab. Speaking of which, a new tab, in my config, is supposed to open speed dial. Ctrl+T does that, but this addons somehow doesn't do that. Just do Ctrl+T, okay?

Also doesn't work in the addons tab, or in the preferences.

Also the rocker gesture is missing. (Hold left + press right -> forward, hold right + press left -> backward)

Also why is the config UI so...? For instance, why is the mouse button drop down as wide as my screen??

A LOT of work is still needed.

Speed Dial

One more version Rated 3 out of 5 stars

One more version before Mozilla fucks this addon to oblivion. Unless it can somehow be rewritten for their new API.

FireGestures

Gestures fire too soon Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Gestures oftenly fire too soon, e.g. before releasing the mouse button. This might cause the wrong gesture to be fired, and after releasing the (right) mouse button, causes the context menu to pop up.

This problem has been occurring for the past few weeks or so.

Strict Pop-up Blocker

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It remains greyed out in the add-ons screen. It cannot be enabled.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2.1-signed.1-signed).

Popup Blocker

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It doesn't appear anywhere in the UI.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1).

Popup Blocker (strict)

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It doesn't appear anywhere in the UI.

Canvas Fingerprint Blocker

Triggers CSP Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It triggers a CSP error when the policy is something simple like `default-src 'self'`. Only when the policy is relaxed to `... 'unsafe-eval'` the error dissappears, but that's an undesirable policy for most sites. Also, we the users have no controler over what CSP a website defines.

FireGestures

Bloated, but good, and 1 suggestion Rated 4 out of 5 stars

By default, this plugin offers waaay too many gestures. This might seem like a good idea, but more gestures means it's easier to accidentally trigger an unintended one.

Suggestion: it's not currently possible to "start" a gesture from an inactive tab in order to close that one. Starting a gesture from anywhere but inside a webpage doesn't work in the first place, including my speeddail startpage (from another addon). Similarly it's also not possible to gesture on any dialog, say, to close it.

Fennec Screenshot

Where? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

So where is the button/menu to actually *take* a screenshot??

Mobile Screenshot

Where? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Cannot figure out where it saves anything. Also no setting for it, and nothing in the description for it. It probably works fine, so its a sad thing that it fails on such a small issue.
