My Reviews

Contacts Sidebar

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I completely agree with Frédéric Jeanbart on this one. I hate essential features being relegated the status of "addons". Soon we'll have to download a "check email" add on to use Thunderbird.

Worst of all it's not even working with Thunderbird 3.0.1 meaning there is no contact manager functionality available for for this program. If Evolution worked for Windows I'd use it.

Blank Your Monitor + Easy Reading

Very good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is an amazing add on. It saves your eyes and monitor and the easy reading context menu item is really useful. Take any selection of text and right click, click easy reading to load it in a new window, in big font.

URL Suffix

Doesn't do anything. I was expecting it to be a drop down in the address bar for .com, .net, etc, but it doesn't do that. Aparently uses shortcuts, but I tried a few and nothing happened. I have tab mix plus, maybe that's also my problem with this.

I had this on my laptop and it was great, but it should really work with the latest version of Firefox. I would really like to install this again so please upgrade it!

Extended Cookie Manager

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I think I'm using Tab mix plus so this was another add on which won't work with my Firefox. At least there was forewarning of the potential problem. I'd ask the developer to please work with the TMP people to get a fix.

Related How-To Videos Sidebar

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Terrible. Why would anyone want to watch a South Park character doing exercises? You can't really see how the exercise works and the controls on the player don't seem to work properly. The sidebar just allows you to jump to the required video, which is a good concept by itself if the content was worthwhile. It is also free content only which would be good but again you can't really learn much if the content itself is of poor quality.

I really like Lightning but like lots of people here I would like to see it working for Thunderbird 3.

It also seems to not accept dates properly sometimes either. For instance, if I add an event for 8:00 and commit it, sometimes it will just set it to 16:00 ? It takes several times of trying to get it to accept my date.

I imagine this add on it great, if you live in America... There is a big list of US states to choose from, of course I don't live in a US state so it's not much use to me is it? It should be called AniWeatherUS or something so that people don't install it by mistake only to realise it's useless to them.
