I love this add-on, but I have the same problem as GiPiero. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (9.0). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Does this also stop other background loading events, or just stop GIFs? Please clarify. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1).
I can't imagine browsing without this now. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1.2). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
As many other commenters have said, this is a good idea with very poor implementation. It needs a toggle on/off button. It needs more choice of characters. It needs better customization. The appearance of the toolbar is bad.
To sum up: Great idea, not worth installing yet.
I don't know what the previous reviewers problem is, but this add-on works just fine for me. VERY handy for sending those "I don't have time to read this article" webpages to your Kindle. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (220.127.116.11).
This add-on is outstanding. I've tried various zoom control buttons, but this does everything you could possibly want. You can choose the button appearance, too. My only complaint is that I can't have it in Thunderbird. Good work! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0).
This add-on appears to have been abandoned. It's a shame, because it was quite handy once you configured it. "Save Image as . . ." definitely does not work with Firefox 7.
Still works fine with Firefox 7 if you have the Add-on Compatibility Reporter add-on installed. This user has a previous review of this add-on.
I've tried various fancier eReader apps, and this simple add-on works better than all of them. It isn't as pretty as others, but does the job better. My one complaint is that it needs better help files on how things all work, like the Sync/Import/Export page, etc. Oh, and can we add more bookstores to it?
If you have Firefox already, just use EPUBReader instead of adding another app.
I have T-bird 5.0 on two machines, one running Windows XP, the other Windows 7. The 3.8 version immediately worked without a hitch on XP, but required a few restarts and tweaks before working right on 7. Either way, I'm glad Thunderbrowse is back. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.8). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Superseded. Deleted. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.3.5).
Aardvark seems to work just fine in Firefox 4.0 as long as you use the Add-on Compatibility Reporter add-on.
Brief is excellent. I used to use Sage, but I prefer Brief now. I hope that it works just as well in Fx 4.0.
This add-on simply doesn't work. My bookmarks were randomly deleted and rearranged several times before I gave up. I sure hope that the version incorporated into FF4 is different. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.1).
This add-on works great in Firefox, including Cool Previews windows. It Does Not Work in Thunderbird 3.1, however. They should make this more clear, or better yet, make it work. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.7.6).
The latest release (3.6.20100625) officially makes this add-on perfect. The final piece is the ability to simply right-click within a bookmark folder to place the bookmark right where you want it. Not just choosing a folder, but choosing the exact spot within the folder, all in one simple operation. What more could you want? Brilliant. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.6.20100625).
This update (3.0) is less than useless. It adds features that are of dubious value, like viewing PDFs online (why would you want to do that?), which actually is slower. It puts a useless icon in the status bar which you can't remove. And it removes the button to "Bypass PDF Download", which I found quite useful.
All worse, nothing better. Stick with version 2.2.
This update (0.7.7) added nothing useful and eliminated the status bar functionality. If you use AiOS to configure your status bar then DON'T UPDATE, stick with 0.7.6. He says that you can replace that feature using TotalToolbar, but that extension doesn't work worth a damn -- still very raw. LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.7).
I like this feed reader, but I have started having the same problem as EddieArt below. When I try to add a new feed by clicking on the icon in the location bar, I get a nonsensical error message like his. (I have discovered that I can still add the feeds by opening Sage-Too and using the Discover Feeds button.)
What bothers me is that this add-on seems to have been abandoned just like Sage was before it. No support, no updates, no nothing. What gives?
I agree with Rob, this should be a Preference included with the browser. It's basic.
Unfortunately, this add-on hasn't been updated since TB 1.5. Fortunately, you can download a "bumped" version that will work up to TB 3.0 at:
