Firefox Sync for Firefox 3.5/3.6

no manual sync anymore :-( Rated 1 out of 5 stars

this extension has become pretty useless (for me),
because i cannot sync anymore by hand, because of the missing icon in the statusbar.
before, i could just click the icon and sync whenever i needed to.
now, i don't even know, when the extension would be syncing, so i have to wait and wait and wait...and maybe it syncs...
then, i have to go to the other computer and wait and wait and wait...for the results of beeing synced....

i have two computers next to me and i used this extention to sync/swap bookmarks between them very fast. therefore the manually sync option was great.
now, there is no way to use the extension the way, i need it.

so its quite useless.
have to swap back to xmarks...

View on Flickriver

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

seems, that i cannot edit my review, so here is a new one.
meanwhile, i found the button. (its next/left to the addressbar, where you can type in the URL)

unfortunately, the icon is very big and disperses the whole toolbar (no theme used),
and it is not possible to move the icon to an other toolbar!
(after ff-restart, it is placed at its origin position.)

the button does, what it should, but that doesnt give 5 stars. only 2 because of a bad ff-integration.

View on Flickriver

never showed up. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

>While on any Flickr page, click on the Flickriver button to show the corresponding view via Flickriver.

button? what button?
i can't see a button which looks like anything which might be a flickr(river) button.
tried to customise the toolbar, no button.
right-click-menus, no button

where the heck is that button?

what about an instruction for new users?

one star, because the website is nice.

Searchbar Autosizer

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

does not work in ff3.0.x
but worked superb in 2.x
author has discontinued development which is a pitty, so he can't be judged, that this extensions is no more usable.

Manage Folders

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

german translatsion is missing
"Manage Foldes" => "Lesezeichenordner bearbeiten"

Bookmark Duplicate Detector

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

1)
does, what it says! easy and fast!
plus 5 stars.

2)
too annoying too click for *every* duplicate, if you have over 5 duplicats (like me, about 100)
minus 2 stars

BrowsrBounce

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

doesnt work.

after installing and restarting thunderbird, i had to double right-click to see the contextmenu.
also, there was no suitable link to click to open the link under the cursor.
deinstalling it and it was the normal one-right-click again.
the full-path-to-browser does not have a browse-feature. user has to know and type the path. yak!
also, the mentioned portable %drive%-variable doesnt make clear, if the variable contains :\ so the user has only to enter %drive%path, or %drive%:\path ....

2 stars for the good idea.
minus 3 stars for the userunfriendlyness.

Movie Ratings

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

does, what it says! in a fast and comfortable way.

if it would support IMDB too it would be fantastique :-)

Fast Dial

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

its good, but its not fast. many options,
but way to slow.
pressing STRG+T to open a new (empty) tab with zero entries takes about a second. thats too slow to open a new tab.
opera is ways faster :-)

ActionShow!

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

with this installeld in ff 3.0.4 tooltips won't show the correct values anymore. wrong tooltips are displayed. and some other extension behave not as they did before. uninstalling it did help. everything worked as before.
one star for the idea.

IMDb rating

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

i use it with ff 3.0.4 and it gives me little empty tooltip-boxes over pulldown-menus or buttons.
its not a big but and its ok, since this version isnt shipped for 3.0.4, only 3.0b5, but hope to be fixed in the next time :-)

Edit As New

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

it seems, this feature is already implemented in tb 2.x
no need to download.

Expression Search / GMailUI

might work. maybe... Rated 2 out of 5 stars

the mentioned calculation is workin in the quicksearch bar...but thats the only thing.
searchkeywords like f:foo or from: foo won't find any existing mail in the current folder. tried with tb 2.0.0.18 developer stoped developing in 2007 maybe thats the reason.
also you cannot unbind any keyboard-shortcut, which is really annoying. everytime you press the Y-key, this extension deletes a message (if no archive folder is created before, which is not, because I DO NOT NEED AN ARCHIVE FOLDER, BECAUSE I DO NOT ARCHIVE MY MAILS)
so 2 stars because of the name google...

random(signature)

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

nobody needs a random sig that is changing every 30 secs....nice try...
random by click or shortcut, out of a selectable cookie-file...that would do the job. like "signature switch"
http://mozext.achimonline.de/signatureswitch_screenshots.php
belive it.

Find In Numbers

makes other extensions unusable... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

very good, very fast. good work.

unfortunately if installed, the extension "Find All" does not work anymore.
some other users reported other extensions not to work after installing. a pitty....

ThreadVis

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

damn! thats the best and visually-usefullest extension ever! :-) (i ever wanted to write something like this...)
this extention is very easy to use and i can -with a single click- jump to all related mails (forwardings, replies...) thanks!

Open all links

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

nice & simple, but userunfriendly:
confirmation dialogue sucks. either the user has to approve 100 links by hand or none. the intelligent way, to let the user choose in each confirmation-pop to skip the next N questions and open all links, would be better.
only 3 stars because unfriendlyness

Mark All Read Button

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

fast & simple.
but the button is too big, it blows the vertical spacing...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).

SearchWith

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

the contextmenu shows only services which i do not want to search. i want to seach the configured searchengines, which are not accesible via contextmenu.
useless crap.

FireFlare

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

makes my ff3.0.4 freeze, if i want to go to the fireflare settings. reinstalling is not solving the problem. so i cant test and its only one star, because the idea is a good one.

(autor has no support link on his page so i could not offer help there)
