My Reviews

Save Image in Folder

Great Addon, works like a charm, but i (almost) never used it. (!I was wrong!) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I configured it to include all the paths from all my machines to fastly safe an image to a specific folder on a specific machine (using ff portable on win, standard on mac).
worked great, after copying the config to all of my ff instances.
only drawback: when opening the context menu, it took ages to display, because the addon just veryfied all path-entries, which could'nt work, because some of the paths are on other machines.
I do not blame the addon, its just a small drawback the developer never cared about :-)

anyways, i just deinstalled it, afer working several years very rare with it.
i found out, its faster to just save all images of a page and sort the images manually.

EDIT (1 Day later):
After reinstalling the Addon, I hardly recognized, that I had uses it almost everyday!
But not the main-features, like saving to a special folder, but saving the image under the cursor to the last (saved) folder.
So, I reinstalled it. No way to live w/o this feature!

Image Download

does not work since a couple of months Rated 1 out of 5 stars

just does nothing when used.

Cookie Time

Usefull, although you cannot delete cookies <1 week Rated 3 out of 5 stars

nice one, but users can only set the expiration time to more than six days.
its not possible to delete cookies automaticly every day or every six hours,
which would be more flexible.
anyways, nice one. good idea!

RequestPolicy

Useful, simple and gives a very good summary/summary on headed pages Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I use it some months now and must say, its great to know all the sites which want to crawl into my browsers cache (and maybe somewhere else)!
The placeholders for i.e. images are great. If you hover over a placeholder, you can read the source of the image and then decide to switch that site on in the preferences very quickly.

I'm only missing a sync feature. Im-/Exporting is possible though, but I'm working with my MAC the whole day and after work its very inconvenient/time-consuming to export and import the black- or whitelist to my PC

Beside this, its a great addon and its greatly helps users to get a clue whats "behind" the page, they're surfing!

Customizable Shortcuts

You can only ALTER, but not ADD shortcuts... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Its only possible to change/alter *existing* shortcuts, ff offers. Its *not* possible to create new ones, if the user is missing essential shortcuts this addon cannot help.A pitty :-)

as long, as you don't need any new shortcuts, this addons works good.

Extended Statusbar

Ignores the customized placing by the user for every FF restart Rated 3 out of 5 stars

shows some useful infos in the statusbar, but every time I restart FF, the information is not placed where I configured it to be (via rightclick in statusbar -> customize). this is annoying and makes my browser look ugly.

Stay-Open Menu

Not for Mac Users. ;-( Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Seems, that this nicce addon does not work on a Mac (Maveric). This should be told to the user.(I gave 5 Stars 'cause I guess, it would work on Windows, from reading the other ratings, and I really love the Idea!)

EDIT: As stated by the developer's comments, this Addon does not work with the native OS X Menu Bar, which seems obvious and understandable.

But it does work within the Bookmarks Toolbar, so there is a tiny little workaround, which - I guess - I'll never use, but I testet it, and it works ;-)

Send Tab to Device

ok, but with strangness Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It works good and fast.
Some other users claimed it: sometimes, it does not open the tab/link on the other device (PC/Mac, FF25.0.1) automaticly, but most of the time, it does.

But what really is strange:
My iPad is listet about 12 times.
My Mac is shown 1 time and my PC is shown 1 time.
My iPhone is not shown at all.
And I see a lot of (null) entries in the List...

Strange, but I don't blame the developer, because I don't know if its a bug or maybe my broken sync-setup...
who knows, addon works great for simply just send a link/page/url to another device.

EDIT: some months later, I figured out, that old and unused installations or paired devices are responsible for the (null) entries in the list.
After reseting my personal sync password and creating a new recovery key for sync the entries are gone (most of all...)
You might have a look how it works here: http://superuser.com/questions/267413/how-can-i-remove-a-non-existent-lost-device-from-firefox-sync

Old Lion Fullscreen

simple working thing! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was searching ages for something like this and this is somewhat of the best i found so far! thank you.

Dictionary Tooltip

Works (sometimes...) Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Hi,
I use this Addon since a few years and it worked well sometimes.
I say sometimes, because I use it on a WebSite and it shows me a window with translation, and on the same WebSite some hours later (w/o FF restart) it does nothing.
I use it on MAC and WIN and on WIN it creates a lot of 0-byte files in its configuration folder.
Also, if I change the config too often or delete predefined translation-sites, it does not work anymore.
So I must say, it works (5 stars)...sometimes (-2), when I not change the config (-1)

QuickFolders (Tabbed Folders)

Great and Usefull Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Ok, I use this sind 1 or 2 years and today I just write, that this piece of Software is a very useful addon!
It does what it said. Thank you for developing this for us!
You can reach all the folders you need very quick and you can even move messages to the shown folders.

RequestPolicy

necessary. very! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

this is a great plugin. i wished, i had discovered it bevore no-script, because this one is intuitive *and* not that bloated (no-script has a lot more features maybe, but i only "need" those here in the extension, so don't get me wrong, no-script is still a goodie!).
another user wrote, that working with this plugin is much work, which is true, but for me, it is important not to switch of my brain and get important information out of the little red icon in the status-bar of firefox. the log-console is great too!
i only wished, it would sync via firefox-sync, because doing all the clicking/allowing/denieing work could be a hassle, altough the plugin comes with good and common presets for user which don't want to be hassled from the very begining :-)
i like it. thank you mr. developer!

no more to say

BarTab Lite

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

as far as i tried it on ff18, it works great with TreeStyleTab and TabMixPlus.

Searchbar Autosizer

works! also with sync Rated 5 out of 5 stars

it was and is a bit "strange/tricky" to set up, because imho, some important information are missing on the options-page itself (maybe not at the wiki, but i never checked...), but it worked in a few minutes to set up as i needed it. thank you!

Google Image Search

easy use! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

very easy to use, very simple, very plain! thanks for that.

Screenshot Pimp - Screengrab, Screen Shots, & Save Selection

DON'T DOWNLOAD! VIRUS-LIKE! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

its now like the apple appstore.
5 good tools, 500 of crap advertising apps...

this extension is a bad example of good and simple software.

it is a good example for addons which are spamming your computer (your browser) with useless sh!t nobody needs and nobody wants.

after installing it on a test browser, things got really bad.

ShareMeNot

worked great. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

it used to worked great (no bothering icons of all the social-foo), but nowadays it adds buttons which we should (as said on the icons) click to activate.
also, the icons look very ugly on the webpages and the user has NO WAY to go to the old behaviour, nor the user can disable those icons/buttons.
so i rate it only 3 stars.

Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great! Works!
I came here, because "Add-on Compatibility Reporter (ACR)" does not offer the most useful feature anymore, but I needed a way to use "old" addons because the Mozilla-Crew decided to turn their back on their users and really annoy them every release with some new burden.

-1 Star, because the addon installs itself under "checkcompatability", while the addon-webpage calls it "Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks" and it took me quite some time to find this addon in the addon-manager.

Remove Duplicate Messages

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Ok, this addon pretty old and not updated to the new TB UI,
BUT it DOES work while searching for duplicates and find almost all dupes.
the new alternate version (developed by somebody else) has quite a nicer and updated gui, but lacks in finding the simplest dupes (just 50%).
so this version is needed too, if you want to find 95% of your dupes.
