DragIt (formerly Drag de Go)

please don't stop developing! please. pretty please! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

it is such a useful addon!
it makes surfers life so hard, without it...

Tree Style Tab

one of the best (because useful) addons! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

unfortunately, with the last FF updates (or the addon itself?) it started to forget the size of the right-tabbar after a FF 43.x restart on mac/el capitan.
It is annoying to resize the tabbar on every browsers start, but without that right tabbar I wouln't want to surf the net anymore!

I don't care about cookies

I REALLY care about cookies....but don't care about the nags! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

...so the addon should be renamed :-)
just kidding. does, what it says and has a way to add new annoying nags!
nice and thanks!

Searchbar Autosizer

does not work atm, be patient. very patient :-) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Well, it worked great for all the years, but stopped as mozilla made big changes to the whole firefox layout going to the smart-/tablet-world... it must be really hard for the developers of "our" addons to keep up with mozillas changes, so I guess, it'll take a while for this neat addon to work again. If ever....

Evernote Web Clipper

evernote should pay the developer(s) Rated 1 out of 5 stars

obviously, the developer(s) of this piece of s...oftware, never test their code in real life under real conditions...like, with a mac (el capitan, 10.11.x) and firefox (43.x) and different settings, like "save clips to native client"

I wish, evernote would pay the developers more money (does not seem to me, that they get a penny for their work...), so they have a reason to not just sit on their chairs and waiting for lunchtime to begin...

in short: does not work in this version too

Mozilla Labs: Prospector - Find Suggest

it is useful, when it works Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Ok, as I wrote before, the addon has problems with other find-"extender"-addons. now, on a plain ff43, this addon sometimes works, but most of the time it doesn't. I couldn't reproduce why its sometimes wotking with the same words on the same page, and sometimes not... silly, but still useful.

Google Image Search

works with online (http://) and offline (file://) images. great ease! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

just missing an icon in the context menu...

Addons Quick Search

neat! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

does, what it says!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.1.1-signed).

Search by Image for Google

does not work for local images, like file:///Users/user/Downloads/x.png Rated 3 out of 5 stars

On mac with ff43, rightclick on i.e. file:///Users/user/Downloads/x.png, the addon just opens the google upload-page for images: https://www.google.com/imghp?sbi=1&gws_rd=ssl

Works OK on remote images.

I use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-similar-images/ for local images instead.

Add to Search Bar

what a relief! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

does what it says. plain and simple! great addon!
Thank you!

Evernote Web Clipper

as usual...does not work on mac Rated 1 out of 5 stars

After reinstalling the addon, because the last version(s) did not work, I now have an Addon, which seems to miss the translations in the options. %there% %are% %no% %localized% %texts%, but thats not the main problem.

The main problem, is (again): IT SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK.

My Evernote Client is starting, when I click on the elephand icon, but nothing happens after then.

It does not matter, if I chose to clip into native client, file, or cloud.
It does not matter, if I'm loged in or not to the evernote service when saving to cloud
It does not matter, what settings I set up, have tried every combination of notebooks
...
Also, its very confusing to have TWO ways to set up the preferences. First, the settings I can set up in the FireFox Addon preferences, AND the settings while clicking on Options in the clipper dialogue... which one counts?

What the heck is a notebook GUID and *why* should I know about it?
Which is my default notebook and where does my clipped notes fly, when chosing "always add to the default notebook"?

Again, a total disappointment for a paid service.
Evernote team does not give any helpful support, as usual.

Quick Accept-Language Switcher

simple and useful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

...but, as a lazy user, living in 2015, it would be nice to have a selection pulldown to choose from.
Maybe some user editable pre selections, I can choose from...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.1).

Add-on Preferences Button

wow! so tiny, so useful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's a (virtual) pain, that you need to click so many times to finally have a look (or can change) the options of an addon. I always wanted something like a button or a faster way to access the options of an addon.
Now I have found something, which does the job!
Thank you!

iCloud Bookmarks

no restart, but reboot... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

A restartless addon, which requires you to download additional software from apple which FORCES you to REBOOT your computer....
(not, that its just bad to dl additional software for a browser addon, but there is no reference anywhere on the description here.)

Second, its not possible to remove/drag'n'drop the cloud-icon from the toolbar to another toolbar in the customizing mode. Not funny.

Yeah! those are the things we need!

(P.S. this addon is for windows only, so I wonder, what happens, if the user has an activated ff weave/sync account and syncs the browsers addons+config to a running ff on mac...I guess, it'll end up very very badly....)

No-Script Suite Lite

nice and fast... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

...but it lacks important features like supporting for syncing with other foxes, or else, which I don't recall now because I uninstalled it. (wasn't too flexible the way it handled URIS)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.1.1-signed).

Evernote Web Clipper

I wonder, what they're updating all the time... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

...because it just does not work!!

Also, there is no usefull documentation or any hints what user need to do, when installing/configuring this addon.

Obviously, this addon does not work for a lot of users, but it seems (as a lot of bugs or user-feedback on the evernote forum) that evernote developers/company do not care about single user feedback....too bad.

For now, the Evernote Client on my Mac poppes up, when clicking on the Elephant-Icon in FF, which shows, that actually something is happening...But nothing more happens...

Official MyJDownloader AddOn

Of no use, because no documentation... Rated 2 out of 5 stars

The developers of this Addon are those kind of people, which think, no documentation, first steps, or ANY HINT for the user to start with this addon is needed.

Needless to say, this addon does not work (tried windows/mac).
I rightclicked on some links, checked the menus in FF, but nothing there to do, but uninstall this piece of zipped bytes...

EDIT after Developers Comment:
I reinstalled the Addon, found the greyish Icon at the right top of my urlbar, clicked it, entered my credentials in the popup, but the addon seems to load forever. Nothing happening after 10 minutes. Local JDownloader running and connected, which I can see in the Webinterface of myjdownloader.org...

Uninstalled again ;-)

Policeman

Seems to be a great but labour-intensive "successor" for RequestPolicy Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Ok, this addon seems to be a good alternative to my previous used addon RequestPolicy.
It took me about 3-4 hours to play with it and kinda learn/understand how it is used and how it works.
(I did not read the docs in the first place, but did'nt find it too llustrative after reading it then)

My first impression is that the offered UI is intuitive and un-intuitive at the same time (I'm using FF 38.0.1. on Mac), but also fast to use, which is very important to have a good user experience.

IMHO, the addons popup stutters very much, caused by the lengths of the shown entries inside the popup, but it seems to be a good way to display only the important informations when needed. The information shown in the popup is sometimes (on websites with a lot of connections) too hard to read at once and could be structured in a better way, but honestly, I don't have a clue how this could be done to improve the readability. Maybe colorshades and small indents.

To sumarize it: It seems to be a great addon to fully control what websites send out their lurking arms to trace the users browser behaviour, but it takes a lot of time to set it up to have convenient webbrowsing experience (with all the shiny glimmering content we're used to nowadays).

For me, I took and take that time, because I'm very curious, what sites connect to other sites to load what special "content". If I need the content right away, I can always suspend the addon to have a seamless browsing experience, so there is actually no need not to install and use this addon for a later use)

The ability to import PolicyRequest settings is a big pro and the green/red-colored icons is a very nice visual feedback for the user to check, how much content is blocked and how much is passed through.

Its worth 5 Stars, but 4 Stars only, to motivate the developer(s) ;-))

EDIT (a week later):

Ok, after working a week "prodictive" and in real browser life, I need to edit my review:

The stuttering while clicking trough the origin-/destination-domains is not that bad/important as I wrote.
Actually, I think, its not a problem at all, after you worked a little bit with this addon and u know what to expect.

The usability speed of this addon is great. I have "Reload on change" activated and so, when I changed a setting for a special site and I just click inside the site again, the changes are already visible. This is great to fine grinding your needs for all the different sites which load all their data(crap) from anywhere but their domain itself.

Anyways, its quite irritating, that if there are a lot of blocked domains, u need to click on the "any domain" (origin) to see and unblock them.

Evernote Web Clipper

Gives an Exception! Does not work on newest MAC OSX FF! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

[Exception... "File error: Not found" nsresult: "0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)" location: "JS frame :: resource://gre/modules/commonjs/toolkit/loader.js -> resource://e0b8c461-f8fb-49b4-8373-fe32e9252800/web_clipper/lib/net.js :: sendXhrBinary :: line 132" data: no]
