My Reviews

nearly fits my needs Rated 4 out of 5 stars

would be perfect if you make this so that it removes predefined text from the subject line?

Locate in Bookmark Folders

used it for ages Rated 5 out of 5 stars

shame its not been updated in a while, and don't work in FF3

New Tab Button

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

looks good, logical and eases reading of several mails simultaneously. Was it too difficult to make a version that works with TB2 AND 3?

As a new user, I'm reluctant to move to TB3 permanently until it comes off beta and my other extensions shown to work, but this is one extension I'd like to use now, with TB2

Paste and Go 3

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Had prior version and it worked great. Big advantage to be able to search or go to URL

Look forward to it coming off experimental

Send Page By Email

Great!!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great add-on. Very useful.

One point - after filling in the dialogue box, and clicking send, it brings up the Thunderbird interface and I then have to click send (the email address is filled in by the addon). Can the email be sent directly from the add-on without having the extra step of the Thunderbird window appearing?

Invalid File Hash Error Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Only just installed this, and at first got the above error and refusal to install, but the tip by fiete meier below about enabling 3rd party cookies solved the problem. Thanks.

Still trying the extension, hope it works

Paste and Go 2

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've used this extension for ages and its probably the most useful add on, but I'm moving to FF3 and have waited long enough for an update. I'll miss this add on but can't be tied to the past

Xmarks Sync

ok but a pain Rated 2 out of 5 stars

worked ok initially but you have to log in to foxmarks every time FF starts, despite choosing auto syncing. Then, after a week, I started getting error messages that the bookmark file was a lot smaller than the bookmarks saved on their server, and warning that the local bookmarks should be checked before synching. There was NEVER any problem with the bookmarks, and instead of the one bookmark foxmark reported, the bookmark file contained all 2500 bookmarks. It became a pain having to examine the bookmark file every time so I have now removed foxmarks. Despite what they say, I think is a bug in foxmarks as I have never had any bookmarks ever disappear, and foxmarks incorrectly reported that numerous bookmarks had gone

It is also VERY slow when synching. I remember I previously tried this app a year or two ago and got rid of it because of the logging in and slow speed. I then used Yoono, which worked fine, autosynching and fast, but its aimed at social bookmarking and bookmark backups is now a very minor part. Still, Yoono showed just how slow foxmarks is.

Minimap Sidebar

Good in theory Rated 1 out of 5 stars

More frustrations than its worth. Why this STUPID map home? Why not open at MY home? Or some other location of MY choice? Surely that makes sense? Try as I might, I couldn't make it open at my home, even after setting my home location. It won't search for UK postcodes either, needing a street name - Googlemaps will search for a postcode, as does the add-on "Locator". The Map Preview needs FF3 to work. I am also not happy about addresses being saved. The sidebar opening is a good idea...... but that's it's only redeeming feature and it isn't enough to justify the installation.

Box.net Bookmarks Synchronizer

could lose your changes Rated 2 out of 5 stars

this only backs up the bookmarks when you exit FF.... if FF locks up or your PC crashes, you lose the changes you've made.

much better if changes are saved/backed up as they are made
