My Reviews

selectivecookiedelete

Pretty good, BUT... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Useful add-on - but please, please, remove the notification on closing FireFox, or at least make it a configurable option. I wanted to revert to version 3.5 until this is fixed, but couldn't because the older 3.5 version would not install into the FireFox 4.0.1 I'm running (contrary to what it says about it on the older versions page). To work around this, I had to modify the install.rdf file embedded in the selectivecookiedelete-3.5-fx.xpi file and change em:maxVersion to "4.0.*" which had been set to only "3.5". After doing this I was able to install the older version of the add-on which doesn't have the annoying notification added in the latest update.

UPDATE: I've posed a version of the v3.5 .xpi file with em:MaxVersion in the install.rdf file set to "6.*" so it should be able to be installed in Firefox versions 1.5 - 6.* (as it claims on the Version History page) here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5508445/firefox/selectivecookiedelete-3.5-fx-MOD.xpi

Please note however that I have not tried it with anything newer that Firefox 4.0.1 -- so your mileage may very.

Open Image In New Tab

Works In FF 4.0.1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I changed a <em:maxVersion> in the install.rdf to 4.0.* similar to the way @metal321 suggested for FF 4.0 and it seems to work fine. Nice extension - just wish there also was a Open Image In New Window option....

IE Tab Plus (FF 5+, 4+, 3.6+)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fortunately I don't really need to use this add-on much, but when I have done so it seemed to work very well.

One interesting thing you can also use it for is viewing Windows XPS (XML Paper Specification) format files. This can be enabled by adding "xps" to the Site Rules for local files. In other words, just change the default "(mht|mhtml)" part in the rule to "(mht|mhtml|xps)",

Afterwards when Windows' XPSViewer.exe attempts to open the file in your default browser, if that's FireFox, it will automatically switch to the IE rendering engine and display the file after it starts up. Sweet!

Generally a very nice extension. However I just uninstalled it because its ALT-C hotkey conflicts one the MR Tech Toolkit provides for 'about:config'. Neither extension also this key to be changed, so I had to pick one to get rid of...

You can get v1.3.1.1 which works with FF 3.6 at the Captain's support site.

Great extension!

TB Reset Quote Header Extension

v0.4.3 Not Working in TB 2.0.0.23 Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I tried all of the suggestions list here, but it does nothing.
Too bad...almost exactly what I was looking for.

I wish TB had something built-in that provided this functionality -- people have been requesting it for years, it seems.

Signature Switch

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Overall works as advertised, I guess, but I'd like it a whole lot better if it would put the signature in the same place I specify for auto-quoting placement in Thunderbird's Account Settings / Composition & Addressing -- in particular, above the quote as others have mentioned.

Another improvement would be for it to support different settings for different email accounts. One size doesn't fit all...
