I love FF, but have struggled to manage my bookmarks (and folders) in a sane and easy manner.
ViewMarks comes to the rescue, and is a HUGE breath of fresh air and is a wonderfully intuitive way to manage bookmarks.
There are many thoughtful touches, such as the "suggested folder" (which works rather well most of the time), and the "create folder" icon shows up in all the right places. I think the developer has thought of just about everything.
The integration with FF is nearly perfect, making the ViewMarks feel just like a native part of the browser!
Many thanks to the developer for creating this delightful add-on!
Bugs (FF 38.0.5)
1) Setting the "visit bookmarks in background to fetch thumbnails" throws an error:
ReferenceError: ViewMarksUpdate is not defined
1) Add the ability to search for a folder when bookmarking.
2) Be able to resize the folder list (horizontally and vertically) to more easily find a folder
3) Offer some sort of "detail" view (as seen in Windows Explorer, for example.)
4) Be able to drop a bookmark (or a folder) onto a folder.
Works really well so far! Seems more stable than other similar add-ons.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.1.1-signed).
Works very well and gets the job done. Vital addition to Thunderbird!
Wonderful idea, but sadly, MANY BUGS.
When "previous weeks to show" (in Lightning options) is set to 1 week, the "simple week" calendar for this week is a week off, showing last week's calendar! When "previous weeks to show" is set to 2 weeks, the "simple week" calendar for THIS week is 2 weeks old. Also, "previous week/next week" in the right-click menu have no text.
And one more thing ... when "Week starts on Sunday" is set in options, the Sunday that is showing on the weekend days is actually LAST Sunday! For example, this week's calendar shows the days in the following order: March 2, 3 ,4, 5, 6, 1.
Hope the developer can fix these issues soon...it would be very nice otherwise. I do remember this layout from Organizer, which I used for many years.
I see no "support" page so I have to report this here.
UPDATE: I've removed the addon for now. Awaiting a fixed version to try out.
Please add the ability to search for a folder when editing a bookmark. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (31.0.20150113.1-signed).
The default TB mail search is dreadful, and leaving me cursing every time I used it. I just wanted to see the results as a list, period, without any other nonsense.
Thank you for making this happen!!!
Fun, colorful and very nice to look at. The designer has shown great attention to detail. Makes the boring task of maintaining mail a little nicer!!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.5.13).
Please add an option to ignore case when sorting. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.5.1-signed).
I have many rules that file incoming messages to folders. Therefore, I need a way to see today's messages in all folders.
It's good, however, I wish it were able to update the xpath when I select a new node.
Work great for setting up links and assigning custom icons! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.11.1-signed).
Downloaded this and had an immediate use for it. Within 90 seconds had the basics down and was tiling like a pro! Operates just like it's a native part of the browserThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (10.1.1-signed).
I open a lot of tabs. This gives me a nice way to review and close one at a time. I keep it on the right in the bookmarks bar. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.0.1-signed).
Works well and makes sense since seeing the URL is usually not needed. Also my menu (and title bar) are hidden.
The background color is a little dark. Would be great to have the choice of setting the background color.
Does exactly what I need, without any other nonsense. Open a new tab!
Better than the sidebar in Opera since it can be re-sized to any width I want! Hooray!!!!!!!!
One thing though, is there a way to indicate that a tab is pinned (without disturbing the interface, which is delightfully compact)? Maybe with a slightly different background for pinned tabs?
Signatures can be such a headache in TB, but this extension finally gave me a way to manage them! Nice implementation. The only add-on that's been able to fulfill my very simple request: just insert my signature, right here (where my cursor is), right now. Simple as that. I plan to use it for many other things -- boiler plate text, etc.I like the extra touches -- insert thunderbird version, etc.
One small complaint -- wish there was a way to control where the signature/variables/other buttons show up.
Not ready for prime time.
- should show entire sorted folder tree
- search box does not find all my folders
Been searching for something like this for a while. Looking forward to a fully functional version!
Brilliantly simple, and solves one of the most annoying aspects of email correspondence: receiving an email message with a subject that does not match. Nice work! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.2).
I think that the UI for the options is confusing. Also, when I setup the buttons as a sidebar I had issues adding and removing buttons. It would not allow me, for example, to add a Print button. It seemed like it got added but then the button was not there when I hit Done. Only after restarting did the buttons show up. Please clean up the UI, fix the bugs and it might be a hit. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.2).
