The last update fixed the time warp - Thank you, Oleksandr! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
After the latest update, the dates now display correctly. No more time warp! Amazing!
Thank you, Oleksandr, for rescuing this add-on and making it work properly again!
Love it, but YouTube seems to be blocking it lately Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is one of my all time favorite add-ons. I use it almost every day.
When I was still on dial-up, the only way I could watch streaming videos was to download them, and play them in my media player. It took hours for a 40 minute video to download, but there was no other way for me to watch it on my slow connection.
Now that I'm on DSL I can watch most streaming videos, but I still prefer to download them, because I can usually watch a higher quality version that way, and adjust the volume higher than the online player would let me.
Most of the videos I download I erase again, but sometimes there is footage from events, that is intended for participants to have free access to, and this extension helps me archive it.
In the last week or so I've been running into problems on YouTube though, where the videos seem to start downloading, but stop at 0 KB. Another extension was able to download some, but not all. Seems YouTube/Google is trying to block this process somehow? What I found works to fix this, at least some of the time, is to clear my cache and cookies. Would be great if developers could look into this issue though. I think last time that happened, maybe a year or so ago, an update of the add-on fixed the problem.
Thank you so much for this awesome add-on! Highly recommend it.
Not perfect yet, but wonderful nonetheless Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Thank you so much for updating this theme!
Blue Ice was always my favorite theme, and I attempted to find similar themes when I updated to a previous version. I was really unhappy to find that none of those themes were compatible either when I updated to Firefox 12, and I didn't like any of the other themes that were. Sitting in front of a browser all day, the theme can really make a huge difference, not just in the way the browser functions, but in my mood.
I didn't encounter any of the issues people described here previously, but found just a couple of issues, that I found easy workarounds for:
I dislike the way the Reload and Stop buttons merge in the Firefox default theme. Blue Ice Reloaded also merged the two buttons, with only one or the other visible, but never both. When I customized my toolbars, I ended up switching the order of the two buttons around, and that did the trick. They are two distinct, separate buttons again.
There was no button to open a new tab, just the ugly button from the Firefox default which stood out like an eyesore. I removed that button, and tried to add a Blue Ice icon instead, but it kept defaulting back to the Firefox button or no button at all. I ended up adding the Blue Ice button to the end of the bookmark menu, just above the tabs. Took a while to get used to, but now it works for me.
The thing I miss most is that there is no drop down menu between the Back and Forward buttons. Usually there is a small arrow I can hover over, and the drop down menu displays previously opened webpages. It's still possible to get the menu to display by right-clicking between the two buttons, though I'm having a hard time getting used to clicking, rather than scrolling over for this feature.
All in all, I'm really just thrilled to have this theme back, even with its imperfections. Would love to see a version for Thunderbird (hint hint nudge nudge). In any case, Thank you very, very much, Icecream, for improving my day to day browsing experience and mood!
Thank you, Rob Norris, I had missed this so much! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I hope it's not necessary for everyone to be able to use their browser to track the phases of the moon, when twilight begins and ends, and when the sun and moon will rise and set. But as an innercity dweller, whose view of the sky is often obscured by city lights, large buildings, and pollution, and who is largely housebound due to disability, I feel this is just the most beautiful add-on ever.
It really is one of my all-time favorites, and I was so sad when I found out that it wouldn't work anymore if I updated to Firefox 3, that I almost didn't update at all. I repeatedly searched for similar programs all over the internet, but there is just nothing like it anywhere.
I cannot describe to you how thrilled I was to find it listed in my add-on updates today. I had given up hope that anyone would ever update it, and really didn't believe it was true until I saw the icon, hovered over it, and saw it working perfectly. It actually made me cry.
Thank you, Rob Norris! You just added a little piece of joy back into my life that I had missed so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
