I think it would be useful to have the file size information clearly shown next to the type of file that is downloadable. Thanks to consider this extra feature. This user has a previous review of this add-on.
I have this problem for the nine tiles that can be pinned on the new tab when I open a new tab. I have pinned six and it remains two to pin. I cycle through the web pages on one of the two unpinned tiles and reach the time where there is no more web page available to select. I assume that I just have to wait to open more web pages and these web pages will appear as options for the two unpinned tiles but it is not the case and I do not see anymore web pages available to pin for my remaining two unpinned tiles.Currently we have two tabs, Local image and web image.
To solve this issue, you could add another tab with six fields to enter the url of the web pages we want to see as default tiles when we open a new tab. And with the option to have them pinned right away if we want, otherwise these selected web pages will not stay. This way, it would solve this issue. Many thanks for your great addon.
Keep adding a few new good features (12 and 15 tiles instead of 9; and the to do features that you wrote on your description).
When I did a first backup (Full profile) (FEBE, Perform backup), it dit it (previously I had selected various options for the backup). So the first backup had a particular size (126 MB for mine). Then, a few seconds after the first backup, I did a new second backup and the size of it is completely different (6 MB)!!!! Basically, the addon does not seem to have saved fully the second backup!!! There is something very wrong with your addon!
What I noticed later on is that the second backed up over time. In other words, I did the full backup the second time but it was not done right away, it showed the page indicating that the backup had been done but it was not yet done fully!! And that is where the problem, the BUG is. Sometimes, it does the full backup later on BUT sometimes it does NOT!!
I do have around 90 tabs opened and quite a few addons but I also have a quad core Intel processor and 8 GB of RAM!! So, there should not be any problems doing the backup.
More, all the plugins (Tools, Addons, Plugins tab at the left) are not part of the full profile. In my test, only one plugin was backed up but I have more than 10 plugins listed that were not backed up.
1) a great addon but it must be 100% reliable when you do a backup (full profile or else).
2) More, I believe the full list of plugins should also be backed up if it is possible (not sure on this matter if it is possible with your addon to accomplish this second point).
Many thanks to the developer for this addon.
To the developer,
Thanks for your addon, it is great. But I thought I would find it useful to have more tiles than the default 9 tiles that are displayed. Maybe 12 or 15 should be sufficient.
Again, many thanks for your addon. Thanks to consider this added feature.
Hello the developer,
1) Could you allow the user to select a few words or a sentence or even a paragraph and using Ctrl+Alt (the option I use to start Google Translate), I would then be able to have the full translation displayed in a yellow small window, without having to open a new tab to see the translation of this longer sentence or paragraph.
So far, I can only managed to translate a single word at a time using Ctrl+Alt to trigger Google Translate and that is not enough at all.
2) Google Translate (using the button) does not translate the comments that appear on a page.
Check with this Norwegian page for instance at http://www.vg.no/sport/artikkel.php?artid=10116148
3) Because Google Translate has been abandoned by Google, you might want to give a choice to the user of this add-on to use a different Translate tool. Maybe a similar tool than Google Translate is also usable with Bing Translate or Babylon Translate?
Thanks to consider these suggestions.
Many thanks to the developer for this add-on.
(I have customized Firefox to have the menu options displayed)
Sometimes, when I do Tools, Personas, the list of available personas does not show up. And at other times, it shows up!
I do have many tabs opened and I do not know if it causes problems with this addon but I also have 8 GB of RAM and not even half of it is used.
Therefore, I have to assume that this BUG is directly linked to this addon.
I have Firefox 20 and, even in earlier versions, I noticed that sometimes I could not close the left sidebar when it had been opened following a download when I clicked on the X at the top right to close it.
The only way I could see it closed was to close Firefox and restart it from scratch.
I usually have many tabs opened but I also have 8 GB of RAM and more than half is usually not even on use.
Please, solve this BUG.
Many thanks to the developer because I find this addon indispensable.
Kudos to the developer.
I just wanted to stop the autoplay for the videos on youtube.com and, using Firefox 19, I just had to select the following settings.
On the options page that is easily accessible by clicking on the "SmartVideo For YouTube" icon that is displayed at the bottom right of your Firefox browser, do the following:
---In the left column (Control videos on YouTube), select by ticking "Save Bandwidth; Do not initialize video until I click".
---In the right column (Control embedded videos), select by ticking "Save Bandwidth; Do not initialize video until I click".And now you can open several Youtube.com videos tabs and they do not start automatically. To play a particular video on youtube.com, you simply have to click the one you want to start playing and it just start playing.
TO THE DEVELOPER:
Using Firefox 19 and Windows 7 Ultimate, I tried the following extra settings but they did not work but I am aware that they are only in beta so far and that they should work later on. I wanted to have the videos on youtube.com open as follows:
1) at 720p or lower if 720p is not available.
2) the video window opens in a large window instead of the default small window.
I did select:
---In the left column (Control videos on YouTube), select Video Quality at HD720 and Player Size at Large.
---In the right column (Control embedded videos), select Video Quality at HD720.
Many thanks to the developer. Excellent addon.
What on earth is the point of this addon? It simply gives you a list of sites to click, select. When you select one of the false proxy sites, it only leads you to a site that might have proxies lists or, more likely, a field where you are supposed to enter a URL!!
It does NOT give you direct access to a proxy and its details that would allow you to avoid having having to copy and past the proxy details in order to use it right away!! That makes this addon useless because I can find a proxies list by searching one on Google!
More, the list of proxies sites are chosen probably only on criteria linked to ads, not on whether the site has very good proxies lists. Even if it had good proxies lists, it would NOT help you at all because these proxies lists do NOT provide the ip address and port that are needed to set a proxy up using say FoxyProxy.
For your information, here is what I got recently. I use Firefox latest version 17. Firefox 17 asked me to disable your addon until it is available for FF17.
Thanks to update to version 22.214.171.124 for Firefox 17.
Here is the message I got:
Free Download Manager has been blocked for your protection.
Why was it blocked?
Version 126.96.36.199 of the Free Download Manager extension is causing frequent crashes in recent versions of Firefox. Version 188.8.131.52 corrects this problem, but it is currently not available on addons.mozilla.org. We recommend all users to update to the new version once it becomes available.
Who is affected?
All Firefox users who have installed version 184.108.40.206 of the Free Download Manager extension.
What does this mean?
Users are strongly encouraged to disable the problematic add-on or plugin, but may choose to continue using it if they accept the risks described.
When Mozilla becomes aware of add-ons, plugins, or other third-party software that seriously compromises Firefox security, stability, or performance and meets certain criteria, the software may be blocked from general use. For more information, please read this support article.

For the article "N.C. neighbors aghast to learn drinking water contaminated for years" at http://openchannel.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/10/28/14728166-nc-neighbors-aghast-to-learn-drinking-water-contaminated-for-years?lite , the download label on the video window does not show, not even when I start the video. Basically it does not work where I wanted it to work!! Why? I do not know!
Please try to see why there is a problem at this particular link. Thanks.
At http://openchannel.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/10/28/14728166-nc-neighbors-aghast-to-learn-drinking-water-contaminated-for-years?lite , the Video DownloadHelper icon is greyed even though there are two videos on the page and even when I start one video, the icon keeps being greyed.
Why on earth it does not work on nbc.com?!!! Please, solve this issue. Thanks.
When you have a page full of links of pictures that you cannot see, this add-on simply shows you in thumbnails the pictures of these links. It saves an amazing amount of time instead of having to check each link one at a time!!
It works fine with Firefox 15.
Kudos to the developer.
Check this video, as it starts despite this add-on being installed!

Thanks to the developer for this great add-on.
To the attention of the developer Henry Perez,
This add-on works perfectly well, as explained in the description. That alone deserves 5 stars.
But there is a BIG improvement that would be great to see appearing in a future update if it is doable.
Instead of using only one picture, allow the user to select a folder with several images and this add-on would use one image every x minutes, or every x hour(s), or every x day(s). And it would circle through the set of images in the folder one after the other following the chosen schedule (every x minutes, or every x hour(s), or every x day(s) ).
If it is kind of tricky to implement a schedule of one image every x minutes, or every x hour(s), or every x day(s), then at least, it could change to a different new wallpaper contained in a folder that has several wallpapers at regular intervals.
This way, one could easily see a different wallpaper at an interval of his choosing or at regular intervals.
That definitively would be a great new feature.
Thanks to the developer Henry Perez for this already excellent add-on.
To the developer Zen:
1) First improvement to add.
When I press the Google button that I placed at the top right of my Firefox browser window (using Customize), when I translate a page in a foreign language, it shows:
Google Translate Translated to: English Show original Options
Could you change this statement to the following one:
Google Translate Translated to: English From: (the foreign language should be stated here) Show original Options
As you can see, I have just added: "From: (the foreign language should be stated here)".
Many times, I have no clues whatsoever which language it is translated from and that bothers me a lot, as I speak several languages and at least I want to educate myself further at recognizing foreign languages that I do not know.
2) Sometimes, there is just a few sentences in a foreign language in a page that is mainly in English. I select the sentences, move the mouse cursor over them, and click Ctrl+Alt but it does not give me the translation for these few sentences in a foreign language.
Thanks a lot to consider adding this important detail 1) at the next update.
For 2), thanks to have a look at it.
Many thanks to the developer for providing this awesome add-on.
To the developer Kashif:
Improvement to your add-on: add the possibility to add a second bookmark in a different folder than the first one WITHOUT DELETING THE FIRST BOOKMARK.
When a user tries to add a second bookmark in a folder when he already has this bookmark located in another folder is that Firefox deletes the original bookmark that is placed in another folder and put this bookmark in the new folder. The result is that you cannot have duplicate bookmark.
One of the advantages of this suggested improvement is that you could have as many duplicate bookmarks as you want.
Here is how it could work:
1) The user does: Bookmarks, Bookmark This Page.
It opens the Bookmarks window.
2) The developer has added a new button at the left of the Done button with some space between the Done button and this new button. The name of this new button could be "2nd Bookmark" (or something similar).
3) Then the user selects his target folder to add a second bookmark, using exactly the same bookmark name than the first bookmark name that he already has saved in another folder.
Very important: the name of the first bookmark that the user has saved is NOT necessarily the default bookmark name given automatically by the site for a particular web page when a user tries to bookmark a particular web page.
4) Then the user presses the "2nd Bookmark" instead of the normal Done button.
The result of using this "2nd Bookmark" button:
The user puts a second bookmark in a different folder than the first bookmark he had already saved in a different folder. And, very important, the first bookmark is NOT deleted when this second bookmark is added to a different folder using this "2nd Bookmark" button.
Thanks to the developer for your already great add-on and I am sure it will be even better with this suggestion implemented in the next update. Thanks.
To the developer White Alice0775,
You surely must have good reasons not to want to fully do what I described in the first issue (see it below) but when you say "First issue: This is intentional.", it is simply not logical at all not to want to do what I have described in the first issue.
That is you really should allow both "Show Parent Folder" and "Go to Parent" to work, no matter if I use Bookmarks or History at the right of the sidebar where it says: Search in: Bookmarks History.
That would be the most logical behavior. That you do not want to do it probably means that you have good reasons not to want to do it (maybe you have problems implementing it when History is selected?).
---First issue. IT IS A BIG ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE SOLVED.
--When I do History, Show All Bookmarks.
If I do a search for a bookmark typing a keyword in the field at the top right. It then shows results BUT the Parent folder column is blank when History is selected.
Furthermore, again when History is selected, I could right-click on any of the results produced by my search BUT the Go to Parent option does not appear.
Basically both "Show Parent Folder" and "Go to Parent" do NOT work when the History is selected (at the right of the sidebar where it says: Search in: Bookmarks History).
--On the other hand, if I press Bookmarks (at the right of the sidebar where it says: Search in: Bookmarks History), then in such a case both "Show Parent Folder" and "Go to Parent" work fine.
I wished so many times I could simply resize this crazily tiny windows for my bookmarks (I have a 1920x1080 monitor). Your add-on just does this job perfectly well. Thanks.
Thanks to the developer for providing this much-needed add-on.
Here is an explanation of where this add-on works.
I had a struggle to figure out what this add-on refers to in Firefox.
I have customized my Firefox and added a button called "Display bookmarks". When I press it, it opens a sidebar at the left where I can navigate the full list of bookmarks.
It is in this area that this add-on works.
Type a keyword in the Search field. Right-click one of the search results obtained after having entered a keyword.
Then, at the bottom, you have a special area where you can easily see the hierarchy of folders where the particular bookmark result that you have selected is located.
Thanks to the developer for again this excellent add-on.
