My Reviews

Adblock Plus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The very reason why I use Firefox over any other browser.

GMail Checker

Pretty good Rated 4 out of 5 stars

To be quite frank, I am a long-time Gmail Manager user--until it stopped functioning 2 days ago. So, I switched. With this in mind, I guess my review will be slightly biased based on my experience with GMail Manager.

First off, I like this extension's simplicity--easy to configure. I have my e-mail accounts set up within seconds. That is a big plus for anyone migrating to a new extension. I got this extension to work like my old GMail Manager without a hitch.

Secondly, I love this extension's colour scheme. Again, this may be from my GMail Manager experience. I tried another webmail checking extension (being Webmail Notifier), and the "no new mail" colour/icon scheme looks like I had my account logged out. In my paranoia, I kept clicking it every second to see if it is still working. With this extension, it's easy to see if I have new mail, no mail, or logged out. So, thumbs up here too.

For me, what is the most annoying thing about his extension is that if I have e-mail in a secondary account, clicking the icon will take me to my primary account. To get to my secondary account, I have to right click, go through the sub-menu then select go to account. I'm just lazy....so this process is somewhat annoying. It'd be nice if there was a feature where I can select which account I go to on click without changing my settings....

So, overall, I'm a happy migrant. Hope more development and improvements can be made to this add on.

Works well. Good Cantonese tool. It has now replaced my Chinese Pera-Kun

GCal Popup

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add on. Works well for most part. User must adjust adblock and noscript in order to use it (i.e. make exceptions to allow the pop-up to connect to google). However, plug-in does not work if webpage uses frames.

If there is a function that stores google account details so user does not have to type in user name and password when they start browser, that will be better (something like the gmail notifier addon).
