Why was Zendesk Widget created?
Zendesk is great and has an extremely customizable notification system that uses mails. However, sometimes the volume of notifications can get a little overwhelming especially when you're off for a few days. This can lead to you having dozens of notification mails in your Inbox that you need to look at to make sure that you're not missing anything important. Usually, many of the tickets have already been solved or assigned to someone else but you would still need to open the ticket in Zendesk to see the current status.
With this extension you will get a quick view of the ticket's status without leaving Thunderbird. This way you can cut through the notification mails much faster and focus on the important updates!
What's next for Zendesk Widget
In its current state the extension totally fulfills my needs but I can see a lot of ways to extend it (quick access to the last comment(s), change the ticket status from Thunderbird). Keep the feedback coming!
