Useful and simple Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have only 2 suggestions:
1. It would be great if the icon itself will change its color, or by some other way will indicate, that the current page has a note.
2. It would be nice, if that the notes themselves will be appended into Description Field of bookmark that reflects the page with this note (the tab name can be written in some predefined way, for example :_default: etc. In this case we will have automatic backup.
Thank you

Works in Ubuntu, too! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I've just installed WebNotes in Firefox 22/Ubuntu 12.04 and everything seems to be working well ;)

Where does WebNotes store data Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I want to backup my data and make sure it isn't lost + I want to make sure it doesn't store stuff anywhere online. Preferably, I want to be able to open my data with an external program(? txt files or something)

Copying your data

The WebNotes data file is stored on your computer. You can copy the WebNotes data file stored in your profile, but I don't recommend it. If you want to copy notes associated with a particular web site just drag that bookmark as found in the WebNotes bookmark menu item or from the Review/Share menu item to any open text editor.

Awesome! You just saved my day! This add-on is exactly what I was looking for. The Auto Min/Restore option makes it look so neat and accurate. Looks great, works fine. A BIG "Thank You" to Barry Goluboff!

This AddOn is - as far as I can see - a well done piece of code and anything but 'annoying'. Indeed annoying are comments of people, who find an AddOn and seem to be entitled to demand for changing it.
There a.r.e already AddOn's with the functionality you ask for, Fur Q. So before you downgrade an AddOn, which is simply not the one you want/need, why don't you simply use one, which makes the job in the way you want? You know what? One * for lazy people!

To WebNotes: The tab-design is very helpful. Of course one functionality could help for the future. The last version(s) of Internote offered the possibility to use the notes not only for the exact URL. Have a look at it to see what I mean.
But nonetheless: Let it be what it already is, a tool for notes on websites.

Please make another version of this addon, one where Webnotes functions solely as notepad with tabs, without the potentially annoying Sites issue.. its not that it isn't useful to make a new tab note(s) that can be directly linked to a specific site (not just domain name unfortunately, which might actually make it less annoying).. but the way you have designed the addon actually just makes having such a feature more annoying than anything, like the fact WebNotes hides itself when tab/site url changes, and a tab note doesn't exist for that exact url.

Some particular sites don't even work, where It just says "Wait Loading...."

Anyway addon developer maybe take a look at Maxthon3 and perhaps borrow some ideas, also I don't believe webnote data is encrypted? a feature like addon 'Lazarus' offers good password/encryption functionality before a user can access saved information. Anyway maybe Webnote addon could borrow the same Maxthon3 header information that gets automatically added, keeping the tabbar, and instead of the sites method you have, just include an option for when a user makes a new tab, that particular site url is included as a link in the header info of a new tab... that way a user can delete that if its not required.

Personally Maxthon Classic had the best tabbed notepad feature, though another interesting notepad feature called Snippets was included in Epic browser as useful sidebar functionality a lot the features borrowed from the scrapbook addon, but it was a good mashup, that included searchable notes. I can understand reasons for not wanting to complicate the addon, but it has potential to be really useful if you could improve it more.

Great add-on. There should be an option or a new add-on to open the notes in a sidebar. Also an option to export to a text file would be really useful.
