Great functionality but performance issues Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Functionality is great. But When this addon is enabled, my memory jumps from 500MB to 8GB...
.. are you sure? quickFilters literally shouldn't take more extra memory above 300kBytes. it does not store the filters (these are already stored in Thunderbird independently from qF) and only adds a little UI for managing / creating and searching. it doesn't store any data structures except for the few settings in the options window.

Finally! Copy and Paste filters! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I'm giving this addon five stars simply for the Copy and Paste buttons! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.8).
... if you need real clipboard support (to be able to copy into another instance of Thunderbird) please raise a bug here:
File support is soon to come as well!

Its ok, but it doesn't have THE most important (to me) function.
Need to be able to apply a new and.or existing filter to ALL Email Accounts.
Either by merging to another account (removing the "To: criteria), or by selecting the INBOX (unified inbox) as the folder to filter when creating or editing a filter. I would gladly pay for this filter function.
Also it would be good to be able to select multiple templates when creating filters, such as "From" AND "Subject" not just one or the other.
This addon does not really save very much time, if like myself, you are already proficient at creating the filters. Sorry to bring down the vibe...but
Not possible I am afraid...
Thunderbird, SeaMonkey and Postbox store and manage filters *per account*. This is by design and cannot be changed by a lowly add-on, so I am afraid you are asking for something impossible. Merging filters so they apply to more than one account simply cannot be done under the current filter architecture. So the 2 star rating won't change that or help.
As regards your other feature request, check out this bug:
https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=25989 "Allow creation of Custom Templates"
This feature will allow you to create templates with more complex pre-filled rules. It is much more difficult to explain than to use, please give it a try here: http://i.imgur.com/NEycbEk.png
Also this is not the right place for feature requests; please add them here:
As regards saving time, the main reason qF was initially implemented was to deal with an ever growing folder tree - the autoselect target folder was the biggest pain when it used to force us to scroll through 500+ folders. Also if you have more than 100 filters the search functions I added become more important; give them a try some times. You can right-click any folder in the tree and investigate whether it is targeted by a filter. You can find filters that do the same (duplicate search) and you can search for filters by condition, tag and (reply with) template.

Excellent. I was about to throw my email handler away forever until I found this gem.
Install it, take the tem minutes required to familiarise yourself with it, use it, you will not regret it, particularly if Thunderbird or Fossamail are your primary business email handlers.
It is well worth donating to the programmer.
Why is this not just built in? Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This addon is done very well and fits into the Thunderbird workflow as it would be built in. I use this very often since I have many folders and accounts to manage. I wonder how I could have done before without this. Thanks very much! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.8).
Excellent add-on for power filtering Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Do you depend on a lot of filtering? This add-on is Indispensable for Filtering. It is fast and will filters folders quickly and accurately.
Try it for a couple of days and you won't know how you did without it
A must have! Awesome addon. Thunderbird is useless without this Rated 5 out of 5 stars
A must have add-on for anyone who receives spam email. Thats everyone of us on this planet. I am now able to create a new filter by drag and dropping the spam into the spam folder and clicking two buttons, about 4 seconds. All future spam email from that domain are automatically sent to the spam folder. Tons of other options as available. Developer is motivated to deliver a good product and the end result shows. I have tried all other email clients but everyone has failed to deliver an effective spam filtration system. Thank god for this addon. Awesome work!
Support this developer! So we can see more improvements.

Bei mir funktioniert das App nicht - neueste Thunderbird Version, frisch installiert.
Deshalb mein Urteil: Schrott.
PS und Thunderbird ist auch nicht der Brüller.
"funktioniert nicht" ist ein bisschen unspezifisch...
... wir haben eine support website und auch eine EMail, vielleicht kann ich helfen?
One of the best add-ons I use Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I use this add-on since years now. The app is improving all the time and makes it much easier to organize my mails. Try it!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.7).
BEST ADD-ON EVER Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is by far one of the most useful add-ons I have ever seen in Tbird. I sat here today on a mission to find a filter addon that is as simple as this and I found it. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!!!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6.1).
The Most Useful Thunderbird Add-On Ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I can't imagine managing or maintaining my Thunderbird mail filters without this add-on.
quickFilters has not only allowed me to successfully clean up my email but quickly and easily create and add email filters to ensure Thunderbird stays organized.
This is by far one add-on that I cannot live without. If you are looking for a way to manage your message filters or just want to get back control of your Inbox, this add on is a must!
No installation of Thunderbird should be without quickFilters.
Mozilla should consider building this add-on into future releases of Thunderbird to bridge the massive gap in email filter creation and use.
Very Useful Addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars
By far one of the most useful addons I've installed to my TB client. I've played around with a few filter addons before finding this one and I'm so glad I eventually reached this.
It makes my life so much easier! Not only with setting the filters up, but the ability to copy/paste filters from one account to another is so handy and something I really felt was missing from the standard version of TB. I use multiple email accounts, and some of those accounts both use things like twitter (personal account and work account), so now I just need to set the filters up for one and copy it to the other account. :)
thanks for your great review. Keep your eyes posted for version 2.3.1 which has improvements on the way special conditions are copied over: see https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=25686 for some prereleases
Single configuration for all accounts? Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I have several email accounts but I don't need distinct message filters for them. This is how I did it:
When I need to add/change a rule, I edit "my own version" of msgFilterRules.dat by hand, which is symlinked by all email accounts, effectively making the configuration global to all accounts.
I'd like to ask you if quickFilters is able to make definitions "global" to all email accounts.
[ I rated 5 stars since apparently it does much, much more than what I need. I've never used it, actually. ]
Thanks a lot,
...not because all filters are stored per account (server). What you really need is a way to migrate . copy them over. In a way the copy / paste functionality of quickFilters does this, but actions like "move to folder" obviously cannot easily be moved over to another account so you would have to correct these particular ones.

This is almost exactly what I have been wanting in Thunderbird ever since I started using Thunderbird. It even has exactly the built-in filters that I was looking for, but it took a while of reading through the documentation to figure out which filter name goes with which behaviorThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).
thanks for 5*
I see you edited your review :-) if you have suggestions for new filter templates I am very interested in hearing about them at the support site.
quickFilters is a relatively "young" add-on (with only 4500 users) so there is scope for growing it if there is interest; it just takes time and a little back & forth with the users. You can make feature requests at the official site, here:
and/or definitely contact me via the email link on these pages! I do what I can t improve it.The default filter is geared towards filtering "conversation-type" mail, which is usually alwyas between the user and another person, hence it looks for "from" and "To"; this makes even more sense when used with "Copy Sent to Current" and you want to tidy up an inbox which is full of conversations with a contact.

I'm very happy with all the nice stuff Axel makes. Works nice, and the support is marvelous, thanks Axel! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.8).

Cool tool! Saves tons of time. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.8).
great; finally somebody noticed! :-) There will be more great things to come, provided more users install it.
Works well and developer is VERY responsive Rated 5 out of 5 stars
quickFilters is both a great idea and well executed. The developer, Axel, keeps up with Thunderbird versions and really seems to care about his product. I donated because this is the kind of extension that makes me happy I got off of Outlook years ago. Thanks! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1).

Cukup membantu untuk "mengkelompokan" email sesuai kebutuhan. Memudahkan kita untuk cek atau mencari email yang kita perlukan.
Filter email jadi lebih mudah....
Outstanding Rated 5 out of 5 stars
A restart of Thunderbird makes the fault I mentioned before go away. So it works without flaws if a new subfolder is created, then TB is restarted before trying to use QuickFilters to drag message into the new subfolder of a QuickFolder tab.
I know it's made to drag into the folders pane of TB instead of the tabs of QuickFolders, but it works both ways.
Thanks for great add-on.
