Needs work Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Highly configurable, but the raw plugin lacks many basic things, no obvious way to add a track to the playlist for example. Does not seem to reconnect if mpd goes down.

Not what that guy was saying about not working, i'm on nightly and it works just fine.

Awesome! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Incredible awesome addon! Even beats most of the stand alone mpd clients I've tested so far... Keep the great work coming... :)

Best client I know Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the best client for mpd i have found... I also created a patch so it runs again on recent firefox: http://www.gargan.org/en/Mozilla_Extensions/Music_Player_Minion/ - and again for ffox 11

Please update this for Firefox 7. This add on was recommended by Bryston LTD to manage music on one of their digital music systems.

I've updated this to support 5, 6, etc. through 9. I've done nothing beyond modifying install.rdf. This will continue to be available on my site but may be removed at any time.

Better mpd companion I've seen. Any chance to see it usable under FF4?

MPM the best MPD client Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have been using MPM since the mpd-webamp days (2007). It has come a long way. I have tested over 20 MPD clients. Music Player Minion is the best.
.
The one star reviews are from individuals that either do not understand what Music Player Daemon and Music Player Minion are, or they simply did not read the documentation. MPD and MPM are very easy to install and configure. You can literally get MPD running on a Linux box in less than 15 minutes.
.
With MPM installed on any computer with a Firefox Browser (MPM even works on a MAC) you will be able to easily control your MPD Jukebox. MPM is very lightweight, fast, and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

This already perfect add-on became even better in version 2. Good design, excellent functionality - keep up the good work!

Not sure what went wrong for Johannes Rohr or nanfor.

Music Player Minion worked perfectly on my XP and Ubuntu FF 3.6 installs.

Perfectly. Couple of clicks, restart FF, click 'Minion', enter server, ok, MPD server is playing music.

Nice idea, but does not work at all. The sidebar cannot be opened, the settings dialogue does not close after clicking o.k. The statusbar controls have had very weird effects...

IMO this + MPD beats any other music software I've ever seen on any platform. In other words, this is GREAT

Was I ever glad to find this plugin!!!

Very nice interface, but I have one small complaint, and a HUGE bug -

First, I'd love a way to move or even remove the control buttons from the status bar of the browser.

BUG - hitting "pause" crashes MPD 0.15.6 on OpenSUSE Linux (server). When I hit the "pause" button, the music first starts skipping all over the place, and then quits. I have to explicitly kill & restart the mpd server to fix the issue. I can successfully pause / play from Gnome MPC with no issue.

Excellent, all of my computers run Linux and i hate how most media players use up so much memory when i'm trying to browse the web (although my desktop/server has 8gb). I was planning to write my own php script to do just this on my apache server but now i don't need to.
