I would love to see this working with Thunderbird 8. Seems to be very interesting and promissing!

I'm giving this 5 stars just for the idea. Unfortunately I cannot try it out due to incompatibility with TB7. I'll gladly donate $100 to any developer who gets this working without major bugs in TB7.

contacts into address book Rated 3 out of 5 stars

HI..just installed it and was able to get my Facebook contacts. However I was expecting that I could populate my TB address book with these contacts as well, which doesn't seem to work :(
Would be great if that could be included.

Very cool idea and a great start. Like other commenters, installing the add-on here resulted in no sources, but using the contacts-0.4.2-relbundle-rel.xpi from http://proness.kix.in/misc/ that Pedro mentions bundles the OAuthorizer add-on and makes Contacts work correctly.

On trying to install v0.4.2, I seemed to be missing the OAuth addon that Erik Tessem described on January 4, 2011, so I followed his procedure to install the old version (Contacts, by mixedpuppy, v0.3.6) first. Following this, I deactivated v0.3.6 and installed v0.4.2 again.

The connection to LinkedIn and Twitter seem to be working, but the connection to Plaxo didn't (possibly because I'm using the unpaid Basic version).

Before installing Mozilla Labs: Contacts, you have to install OAuthorizer. I found OAuthorizer at http://proness.kix.in/misc/

Installed. Nothing happened. Can't be bothered to figure out why. Uninstalled.

Thunderbird Contacts Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Didn't works for me on the first installation! There are no services I could import from.

I was asked to installed another version, the addon id was given. But this "new" installation don't install the necessary Oauth service Addon. The result is that there is no Contact Serviced for import of contacts.
Solution:Install the old "wrong" version, it will install the OAuth addon in addition. Then uninstall the "wrong version" of the Thunderbird Contacts. An then install the newest version with the given Addon id.

BUT, It's seem like the addon only install the contact names and the email addresses under Internet labels.

The potential are greate, but need some tuning....

I miss a word or two on the add-on in detail - where has this functionality been in the last ten years and why is it not part of mozilla core? Where is Mozilla Sync for Thunderbird??

Ich schließe mich dem Vorredner an:
Warum so wenige Worte über das Add-On?
Wo bleibt endlich Sync for Thunderbird?

How come that an update by Mozilla Labs is not verified by Mozilla Foundation? Who is responsible for that? The add-on requests a lot of access-rights for Facebook that you can't deny. I have really bad feelings about what is going to happen with my data?

Und nochmal auf Deutsch: das Add-on verlangt eine Menge Zugriffsrechte auf Facebook! Ich verstehe nicht, was es mit meinen Daten anstellt?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.1).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Ummm, what "contacts" does it pull from?
